Looking for someone you can trust and has great experience with hair? Look no further this place is top notch and knows what they are doing!
As I drove up to the road the Salon was a cute and cozy home with plenty of parking in the front or side streets. As I entered the door I was greeted right away by my new stylist Teresa and given a tour. I was walked through to the back where I was given a gown thing to cover my clothes during my experience. When I came back out there my stylist guided me to my Queen chair haha okay not really but let’s face it when you are sitting in the chair you want the experience to be all about you and to feel like the Queen!
And so my color and styling journey began… what to do with my hair??? Teresa was so patient and listen to every thought and idea I had going on in my head. She made awesome suggestions and made sure to be clear that those were my expectations. I appreciated her not trying to change my vision but only enhance my vision.
So I went with dark brown (natural color) and soft lighter brown highlights. As you know color and cut takes a few hours so we had lots of girl talk in between! That was another check in the box for me because duh! Your stylist has to be your BFF too!
Anyhow ta dah! What a beautiful surprise my hair was healthy, shiny, and she hit my vision right on the dot!
The products used were awesome and I felt like the Queen of the Salon in that moment and also til today haha!
Teresa Guthrie is an awesome color and stylist! I would trust her with my hair anytime! Prices are competitive with others in this area and you are getting what you paid for without a doubt.
I can see the value in this place with the employees and customers it truely feels like a mini getaway where you are the Queen of the castle and have marvelous hair! lol!

I have been going to Gracie for highlights and cuts for almost 23 years. She is an amazing hair stylist, and has become one of my dearest friends. The salon is very quaint with a nice little boutique in the back. I highly recommend The Stratford House Salon and Gracie!

Came here to get a blow out and some curls from Shannon by recommendation. She was so friendly and did a great job.
The salon is in a little cottage and super cute. Easy to get to and they have a little parking lot which makes it convenient.

This salon is so cute and nestled away in a residential area with its own parking spaces unlike the busy street just a few blocks away.
Kay Cowan has been styling and coloring my hair for years and I followed her when she started working at this salon. She is the best for color of all shades and styles and she is always seeking further education on the latest trends and techniques. If you work or live in the Del Mar area or if you’re just visiting you should definitely come to this salon and ask for Kay!

I have lived in North County between Leucadia and del mar for 8 years and never had such an amazing cut and highlight! I was referred to Nicole and she is the best! My mom, who is a toughie to please when it comes to getting my beige-​y blond hair color done right, was thrilled. She even said it was the best she had ever seen my hair. Yeah, that’s saying something! I am in love!

Cute, comfortable house turned salon. My hairstylist is Brenna. I originally was referred to Suzi, but she referred me to Brenna because she felt Brenna would better suit my «needs» (bleach blonde). I always leave the salon feeling fresh and new, and I always get compliments on my hair color. I look forward to my relaxing salon days!

Suzi Vu is the reason I go to The Stratford House. I completely and totally trust her with my hair!!!
Even when finances get challenging I will NEVER cancel my appointments with Suzi. Her work is top notch and exceptionally professional to say the least.

This is an update to a previous review of this place. There are about 10 hairstylists, nail pros and aestheticians there. My hair stylist is Suzi, and she just cut/​colored my hair yesterday. I haven’t had so many comments on a new ‘do in a long time. Unanimous compliments with the best being «Takes five years off you.» (Or that could be the worst depending on how you look at it.) Anyhow, seriously talented stylist. And I couldn’t be happier with aesthetician Melinda too.

The salon is so cute (a former house turned into a modern salon) and comfortable, yet still a little bit swanky. I recommend going to Brenna because she’s an amazing colorist who can also cut hair with precision and style. I went in today and told her since she was the professional, I trusted her with choosing the color and cut and she truly worked a miracle.
