I really hate to give them such a great review because I feel like they are our best kept secret!!! Coast Pediatrics was referred to me by my OB and another nurse who works with new moms. We have been beyond happy with the care, the service and everything with the office. The doctors are phenomenal (Dr Warner is our primary, but we’ve seen Dr Gillen on an emergency basis), you never feel like you are a number (what a concept). The nurses are wonderful. We can’t say enough good things about Coast, in fact, we’ve referred a number of our friends and they love the care as well. We were thrilled they were expanding to PHR because good people and great businesses should be able to thrive!

We feel so fortunate to have Dr. Taylor as our pediatrician for our 4 year old daughter. Dr. Taylor is very experienced, kind, professional and caring. Making last minute appointments is super easy for busy working parents and the nurses are great with the kids. It’s a very nice environment and I can’t imagine a better pediatric office in the San Diego area. Our daughter actually looks forward to seeing the awesome doctors and staff.

Following Dr Lori Taylor for the last 18 years… the BEST pediatrician around and this concierge practice is just perfect for a mother of 4 like me. UCSD trained the best of both worlds! We all love Dr Taylor my daughter and 3 sons: age range 17 years old to 6 years old. We had the privilege to have Dr Taylor since each child’s birth!
The boys know they can see a male Dr if they wish but they are so comfortable with Dr Taylor that they will not change ! The staff is amazing. The trip to the Dr is always fun in our house :)) Actually is like a visit to family!

We absolutely love Dr. Taylor and the care she’s provided for our baby girl. The office is modern and clean and staff and doctors are all very friendly. Given the limited number of patients we’ve been surprised with some long wait times between when the nurses have done initial exams and when Dr. Taylor comes in, but not enough to keep us from returning to her again and again.

I love everything about this practice — except for the parking! It feels like you’re being punished if you don’t have a minivan with sliding doors — half the time we have to back out to get the car seat back into the car because the spots are so crammed together — but that’s my ONLY complaint.
We had originally scheduled our prenatal appointment with Dr. Warner for June 9^th but our baby ended up arriving June 2^nd. Luckily I knew that he does rounds at Scripps La Jolla where I was delivering so I got to meet him the following morning and our baby got to meet his new doctor! He was FANTASTIC and right away we knew we’d made the right decision with this practice and specifically with Dr. Warner. (We were SO excited when they said they had an opening for us to begin with!) All of the doctors are wonderful — the first couple of days home from the hospital we had appointments at the office to keep an eye on our son’s jaundice and ended up meeting both Dr’s Gillin and Taylor as well. All of the doctor’s are fantastic and so caring & passionate about what they do and it truly shines through.
We love how they explain everything they do and why they do it. I also love how they recognize that as first time parents we have lots of questions and they are always available to us. Our first week home we had some concerns and called to ask Dr. Warner some questions on a Friday late afternoon. He called back around 4 and said we should come on down so he could look our son over and feel better before going into the weekend. We arrived about 4:30p and he was so patient and understanding; we’ve never felt rushed or like an inconvenience to anyone in the office. He even called us the following morning (Saturday) to check in on us — it’s such a great feeling to know that your doctor truly cares about your child.
All of the staff and doctor’s assistants are fantastic as well — if you’re lucky enough to be taken into this practice (they do keep it limited and charge a yearly admin fee to keep it small) then you’ve truly hit the doctor lottery for your little one (s)!

I’ve been with Coast Pediatrics Del Mar since it opened and feel very privileged. In order to extend the kind of care they committed to, they are not taking to new patients. This made me sad for all my friends and clients I want to refer, but I just heard the great news that they are opening a second office in Pacific Highlands Ranch (Eastern Carmel Valley by Trader Joe’s). If anyone is looking for near-​concierge care without the exorbitant concierge price tag, get on their list soon. It will be a new group of pediatricians, but knowing Dr. Warner, Dr Taylor and Dr. Gillin, they will find the best of the best to maintain their extraordinary medical-​care model.

We’re fairly new to Coast Pediatrics (our baby is 3 months old), and we are so grateful to have found such an amazing practice to care for our daughter! They came highly recommended to us by another medical professional who takes his kids there, and from the moment we met them we knew that we’d found our pediatrician.
We see Dr. Taylor, and she is truly fantastic. Not only is she great with our baby, she is also great in communicating with us as first time parents. You can tell that she truly cares about her patients. Finding a doctor who is personable, energetic and trustworthy isn’t easy, but we’ve definitely found that in Dr. Taylor. When our daughter was sick in the hospital we received after hours communication from her and all of the doctors who we saw at Childrens Hospital kept mentioning how she was in regular communication with them as well, which was so reassuring and great to hear since we really trust her judgement. Anytime we mention to another medical specialist/​professional that Dr. Taylor is our doctor they immediately know who we are talking about and comment on how great she is. It’s not surprising that she is consistently voted to the list of San Diego’s top pediatricians!
We have seen her and the other doctors at Coast quite a bit in the last 3 months, and we’ve been very impressed with all of them. Dr. Warner is not only knowledgeable, but also patient and very easy to talk to. On a Friday we called at 4:55pm (5 minutes before they close) and he encouraged us to come right in and spent a lengthy amount of time with us– even after hours on a Friday. The other staff are also great, we absolutely adore Denise– she has to be the best pediatric nurse out there. And Carmen has gone out of her way to be helpful as well, with billing issues and even booking same day specialist appointments at other facilities for us.
Also, their office is modern, clean and very conveniently located. There is a $ 150 annual fee for their practice, but I honestly don’t mind paying it knowing that we are getting such great care for our daughter. They get bonus points for being open on Saturdays also!
At Coast we feel like family, when we enter the office we feel so welcome and all of the staff know us and our baby and we know them. It’s a small practice and just has such a family feel.
Keep up the great work Coast!
Also– they’re opening up a new office in the brand new Pacific Highlands Ranch shopping center! We won’t be going there because we would never want to leave Dr. Taylor, but I’m sure that this office will be equally as great.

THE BEST!!! We see Dr. Warner and he is always amazing and spends time with the kids and gets to know them. I never feel rushed and all my questions are always answered. I have even received unexpected phone calls from him checking up on I my kids after a visit. We have had to see Dr. Gillian and Dr. Taylor for various reasons and they are both AMAZING as well. The nurses and front staff are also pleasant and easy to work with.
I never have an issue scheduling a well child check. They are open Saturday am for the little ones that become sick and they have a helpful after hours nurse line.
You will not find a better Pediatric office in San Diego.

Coast Pediatrics has been providing us with phenomenal care for our little ones for over 2 years. Dr Warner is patient, knowledgeable, accessible and thorough. I couldn’t ask for better care!

LOVE this place! You can tell the quality of care they provide is excellent. I moved here from LA and loved our pediatrician so we had high expectations. The office is clean, beautiful and staff is super friendly. I love that they have a «Sick» and «Well» entrance area (I think all Dr offices should). Dr. Taylor is wonderful. Genuinely caring, warm and thoughtful. She has excellent instincts. I mentioned a small cough my infant had and she suggested for pertussis (whooping cough) and sure enough my daughter tested positive! She got her on antibiotics right away as well as the whole household and because she caught it in time, (which is crucial for infants) and my baby girl made an immediate recovery! She calls to check on my 2 girls after every visit. I am just so pleased with Coast. They are more than worth the drive from Encinitas!

We drive 20 – 30 minutes just to visit Dr. Taylor & the Coast Pediatrics staff. It is always worth it due to kind staff & less hectic waiting room… etc. It is well worth a small annual fee to have a better experience!

Dr Warner was our son’s doctor for the first 13 months of our son’s life. We planned to become members when Coast Pediatrics but we had to change insurance companies and now don’t have the option to see Dr Warner. But I wanted to write a review bc he is the BEST! I always felt great after our well baby visits. Dr Warner not only took time to answer the long list of questions we had each visit but he also gave us info and tips on what to expect for whatever stage/​phase our son was entering. Advice for sleep training and pacifier weening worked extremely well.
We are SO bummed we couldn’t join Coast Peds. Every doctor we have seen since changing insurance companies [and we have seen 4 – 5] can not compare to Dr Warner.

We’ve only been with this practice for a few months but I’m in love. I have been looking for a small, high service practice for a LONG time. This is the perfect fit. The office staff is friendly, smart, so helpful and they answer the phone in person. Dr. Gillin is our kid’s regular doctor. She has been great. Takes her time, very thorough, very personable. Dr. Taylor saw our son recently when he had an emergency situation. She was awesome. Tons of follow up (even after hours). She went WAY out of her way to help us and to track our sons progress (over a full 4 day period). It really meant a lot to us and helped us through a tough time. We live in Carlsbad but having our kids in this practice is well worth the drive!

This practice and these pediatricians are outstanding. The office staff are so professional, friendly and helpful. Dr. Taylor is so approachable and makes a nervous patient feel safe and comfortable. Being able to purchase medication in the office is a huge convenience so you don’t have to take a sick baby to a pharmacy. Their office is beautiful and technologically equipped for busy families.

I honestly can’t say enough great things about Coast Pediatrics! We have seen Dr. Warner for over three years now and we couldn’t be happier with the care that we receive from not only him, but the entire office staff. We had been to two other pediatricians with our oldest son before our close friends referred us to Dr. Warner. He is so kind and caring with our two boys and they are so comfortable with him. He always takes the time to listen to any concerns I have and never makes me feel rushed, which I really appreciate. Even on one occasion when he had to take an urgent call from a Doctor at Children’s Hospital that he was waiting to hear from, he gave us the option to wait so he could come back and address any more concerns I might have, but all my questions were met, so we left and he followed up with a phone call about 10 minutes later just to apologize and to ensure that we didn’t have any additional questions or concerns. We have also met with both Dr. Gillan and Dr. Taylor and they are both absolutely wonderful as well. It is so nice walk into a clean, beautifully decorated office and never have to wait more then a few minutes before being called back into an exam room.
The location is right off the freeway and parking is never an issue as they have reserved spaces located right in front of their office. Because the practice is small, you have the added benefit of the receptionist always being there to answer the phone, and we have never had any difficulty scheduling appointments, especially same day appointments. They also use an online patient portal which allows us to view our children’s medical records (which is so great since I never seemed to remember to write down all those measurements during the appointments) and pay our bills online, which is very easy and convenient.
Overall, we couldn’t be more pleased with the care that our family receives at Coast Pediatrics and we look forward to being a part of their practice for many more years to come.

Since the doctors moved to the new practice from El Camino Pedatrics, the whole experience completely improved! The pediatricians were always high quality (love how friendly and warm Dr. Gillan is… she always puts my kids at ease and makes me feel welcome), but the waiting room used to be a little icky and getting to communicate with your pediatrician was sometimes a tedious process. The receptionists are helpful and friendly in the new office, the long waits have disappeared, and there is ample parking. I also appreciate how clean and new the office is; it feels very upscale for a pediatrician’s office.
They’ve been great at completing my kids’ forms in a timely way. When my daughter was sick, we have seen the other pediatricians in the practice as well, and I’ve been impressed with all of them. Dr. Taylor was really kind to my daughter when she was feeling anxious and sick; their bedside manner with kids is awesome. And Dr. Gillan is always willing to examine a beloved stuffed animal first to put my kids at ease… these doctors are great with kids!
I also really appreciate how the pediatricians are willing to answer all of my questions and never make me feel patronized. A great practice.

We had been through two other pediatricians before being referred to Dr. Warner. He is on top of his game, cutting edge and up to speed on all the latest medical knowledge. I recommend him to friends and family.

We’ve had Dr. Warner as our pediatrician since 2008 when our oldest child was born. We chose to follow him to Coast Pediatrics since he was the main care provider we saw when he was a part of the previous practice. We’ve been delighted with the new practice for a number of reasons… I’m highlighting a few below:
— The three peds that are on staff… while we see Dr. Warner, I have heard wonderful things about Drs. Gillin and Taylor as well. I like that there are two female options as my daughters get older, should they want to see a female doctor down the road
— The online access to our medical records and information we need
— The cleanliness and simplicity of the office
— Accessible care… we had an incident where one of our children fell and the injury didn’t warrant a visit to the ER, but it was urgent that we see a doctor. I called Coast Ped over lunch hour and asked if we could come in to see Dr. Warner before deciding to seek further care (in this case, an x-​ray for a broken bone). They got us right in and we were able to have a thorough exam and avoid the ER.
— We’ve chosen to fully vaccinate, but on a delayed schedule. Dr. Warner has been supportive of our decisions and willing to dialog with us. I’ve found him to be pro vaccinations BUT not pushy, rude or arrogant as we’ve discussed our options.
I’ve recommended this practice to friends and clients alike. Very thankful that it’s an option for families in this area.

They are getting 2 stars because the office is clean and well managed. We did a meet and greet with Dr Warner to explore working with him as our pediatrician for our first born. We found him arrogant and uncaring. He acted as though he had somewhere better to be which was a huge turn off. Doctors run a business and to keep customers nowadays they should learn some people skills. I was surprised he was voted in the top pediatricians in SD, he doesn’t seem like a good fit to be working with children and families. Also for families who have alternative views for vaccines he is admittedly very pro vaccine so expect to get to pushback.

We followed Dr. Warner as he and some colleagues recently opened up their new practice. The people at the office are wonderful and it seems like they really enjoy working there. I appreciate that their aim is to keep their patient roster relatively small, so that they can really focus on patient care.
The location is freeway close, however parking can be a pain. When driving into the office complex, the signage may lead you to the left, but their assigned parking spaces are to the right. The spaces are pretty cramped everywhere, so trying to get your door fully opened to get to baby’s carseat can be a challenge.
It was our first visit here to the new location, and so far so good!
