Christian Beginnings school offers Part Day (morning) Pre-​school as well as a Full Day child care, for ages 2 thru 6. Both offer developmentally appropriate instruction guided by the ExceleRate IL approved Creative Curriculum. Faith concepts are woven into our lessons, and monthly chapel create a preschool designed to serve the whole child. Experienced teachers, many of whom sent their own children to Christian Beginnings, provide a loving and safe environment for children to grow and learn. Two year olds do not need to be toilet trained to participate. Summer Camp for children who have completed Kindergarten is also available.

History

Established in 1973.

Christian Nursery school opened its doors in September, 1973 to eleven youngsters. By the end of the school year, twenty-​one different children were enrolled in classes. In 1980 The Westminster School was established for the purpose of providing quality education and a warm loving childcare facility. Then in July, 1992 the two were combined into one program and renamed, Christian Beginnings.

Christian Beginnings is a not-​for-​profit school and welcomes students of any race, color, religion and national or ethnic origin. The school is dedicated to the education of the total child including the academic, spiritual, ethical, moral social, an physical development.

I’ve been associated with Christian Beginnings since 2005. I have never had the privilege of working with a more supportive and connected group of teachers. Dedicated to their trade, CB teachers put in hours well beyond what is required. They care about the children and their families and as well as one another. This is clearly more than a job, it’s a calling and a blessing to work with children during a time of their life that will have a major impact on who they are.
