The Actors Workshop of South Florida

If only words could describe my experience. I came to the Actors Workshop of South Florida to become a better actor and instead I became a better person. DIRECTOR Jane Kelly invests time and attention to every student no matter what age, race, sexual orientation, gender, or background. She really cares about people but most importantly she cares about the work. She was born to be an actress and now thankfully for the last 15 years she has been equipping her students with the tools to be professionally trained actors. The Actors Workshop of South Florida is a place of unconditional love and support. You could write a book on the advice that Jane gives but just remember that if you RESPECT the craft of acting and RESPECT your fellow actor you will leave the Actors Workshop of South Florida in a better place than you were in before. Again, words cannot describe truly the experience of what goes on in between those four walls, however I gave it my best shot. Namaste.

Not a school. No degrees are earned. Ms. Kelly created the workshop to be an actual workshop like those you would find in NYC or LA.
All skill levels must complete the 8 week introductory course to be invited into the ongoing workshop. There are also intensive short programs, private sessions, and much more available. This director is all about acting, she directs the workshop from that perspective. She will tell you the truth and not sugar coat it. Tell her what you want for your career, or what you expect from yourself and she will work with you to give you the tools you need to create your path.
I joined the workshop 5 years ago with no prior training. After about a year, I started auditioning for theater. During the first show I was cast in, other actors would not believe that it was my first professional show. At my very first commercial audition I was amazed that I was prepared for everything I encountered, It was like I had been doing it for years. I now have a commercial agent, SAG credits, and have been growing my resume and getting paid to be on stage. When ever I am not in rehearsals or on stage, I go back to the workshop to keep the momentum going.
