Best Western Plus Deerfield Beach Hotel & Suites

My wife and I stayed here middle of March, 2016 for 5 days, then went on a cruise, then stayed here for 1 more night. Saved about $ 50/​night plus free breakfast over other local hotels. Rooms were large, clean, generally quiet, everything worked except spotty wifi. Great pool area. Breakfast area is nice with good selection, although marred by the fact that some guests tend to be inconsiderate aholes or low-​class animals when free breakfast is offered. Wifi connection issues when we were on the 5^th floor but not on the 3^rd floor. A reviewer mentioned it’s next to a highway. Yes, I95. But we never heard any noise once the door was shut. And it was super convenient to be able to just jump right on the highway every morning when we were headed to an activity.
They give you free water and cookies when you check in. The bill was exactly what it was supposed to be. Housekeeping respected the «do not disturb» sign by never knocking and by not cleaning the room, which we appreciated. We don’t like people in our room during our stay.
One disturbing thing I would like to mention. There are 2 black cats that can be seen roaming the property, especially early in the morning. They go to the pool and drink the water. Neither a single staff member nor anyone in charge feeds these cats or provides water. They leave them to their own devices. As someone with 10 cats, I think it is inappropriate to allow these cats to wander the hotel. But if you’re going to allow it, then provide them with some food and fresh water. What does a decent bag of food cost? Water doesn’t cost anything. Everyone should chip in $ 1/​month and these cats could have food at least twice a day vs. having to scrounge for food and drink pool water each day. Shame on this hotel for allowing this to go on. Either capture the cats and bring them to a shelter for adoption, or feed them and provide them with fresh, clean water.
Lastly, while I generally liked our stay here, this hotel is not of the same caliber as other BW pluses we’ve stayed in. Those hotels seem more like HIE’s or almost like Hilton Garden Inn’s.
Still, I think it deserves better than a 2.5-star rating on Unilocal

And our heater was smoking the whole room out! Could have caused a fire. Which I should have let it burn. Front desk would do nothing to correct it, nor would they offer another room. We froze all night. The next morning they would not even discount the room for all the stress. No one would ever help or address the situation. I manager by the name of Martha would never even return my call.
They are the worst hotel I ever stayed at
And would never go there again.

First off I want to say that this is a five-​star save by Ms. T. I came in from Fort Lauderdale airport at 2 a.m. in the morning, and had some issues with the hotel and the booking. I took the room that was available to me and decided to deal with it in the morning. When I got up in the morning I had to leave right away and had some resistance from the a.m. manager. when I got back that day at 5 p.m. I thought I was going to have more resistance. I spoke with Ms. T and she was more than happy to rectify my problem and give me a nicer room than what I was supposed to have, she was sympathetic to my needs and I really appreciated that. I thought it was good customer service. thank you Ms. T.

Stayed here this past week for 2 days as a short post Valentine’s Day getaway for my fiancé and I. Checked in with Bonnie. Super quick, easy and efficient. She was very kind and accommodating. I pre-​booked through
. Gave me a parking pass and I went to my room. Was incredibly clean, digital ac which worked perfectly. Modern furniture and bathroom. Spacious, two televisions in the King suite, personal patio, coffee maker, fridge, safe and microwave. Wifi definitely works and free breakfast. They have a pool and hot tub which light up nicely at night. I didn’t utilize them but it made for a pretty view. I can’t see how this place got bad reviews. The price was low compared to what the room looked like. I almost feel like I cheated them out of their money! Would without a doubt stay again.

I have not stayed in a BW in a lot of years. The hotel appears updated. The room smelled awful when we arrived. It is not a moldy smell, but something that makes you say «ewwww» when you enter. The microwave is dirty and so is the fridge. The bed is comfy. I am on a trip with a group of teens, so it is fine for them. If I was looking for a luxury vacation it would not be my choice. The gap under the front door tells me that a lot of bugs could make it in.

I don’t know why this place gets such bad reviews. My stat was beyond amazing, convenient, and comfortable. The property is beautifully located near a little lake and has a beautiful outdoor and pool area. Very inviting, I sat out at night and enjoyed some vino.
It is right off the interstate, so it’s very convenient to wherever you may need to go. But it is QUIET. The beds are comfy, and the pillows are great. The rooms are HUGE. You get all the toiletries you didn’t even know you needed. Plus lots of coffee, a microwave, and a refrigerator. This would be great for a long stay. Not to mention a pull out couch for any additional guests in q separate room. Giant flat screen TVs in both room and a full size mirror (yep, women love this!).
The staff is super friendly. The place was recently renovated and you can tell. It’s gorgeous. I plan to stay here for all my upcoming visits to the area, I was very pleasantly surprised.

I travel constantly for work so I am always staying in a wide array of hotels. This is by far the WORST hotel I’ve stayed in. Very poor customer service. Dirty, and right next to a very busy freeway. Surrounding grounds aren’t kept clean with trash all over. Internet didn’t work… All around a bad place to be. Not sure why its considered a best western «plus»… Nothing plus about it. Spend an extra few bucks and stay somewhere that doesn’t have 2 stars. Good luck!

Kept getting harassed about cleaning the room, even after we scheduled a time for it. They rescheduled, then acted like it was our fault they were behind because they sent the maids home before 3pm. The door for room 312 makes loud scraping noise every time you open the door. Plus it’s a nice hard to open and close because of the scraping. Was told I was booking 310 for friends coming in town later. They booked 314 instead! Overall the room was nice and the service was good, but they lack basic communication and have very aggressive tactics when they are not getting their way. Felt ambushed by staff one afternoon leaving my room, over having a service dog and denying room cleanings for a 3 day trip.

We had a couple retreat with 14 couples there and the facilities (rooms) were very clean and comfortable, the real bad was the customer service of the Sales Manager (David) which was extremely rude since the beginning. He always was very rude and never thinking of the customers, we booked 20 rooms and we asked him for the conference room free as we always get for this kind of activities in the same brand but in other cities for just 10 rooms, he only accepted if we book 20. No service on the conference room, no coffee, no even ice and the AC was terrible on the room. They use the bed cloth instead of table cloth. It’s a shame that this excellent brand hire a person like this. Very bad experience, we never are going back to this Hotel.

I stayed here on August 29, 2015 as part of a wedding party. The sales manager David was very helpful in making my accommodations; we played phone-​tag a few times, but he always called me back.
I found my room to be comfortable and quiet. There were a few stains in the bathroom, but nothing major. I liked the refrigerator in the room, and the continental breakfast was better than a lot of other places. The breakfast area was clean and neat. I think the price was reasonable for the room, and I would return.

Stayed here last night with my coworker and we liked it. The bed was a little worn out and the room kind of smelled. The view of the room was nice, especially the pool. The people were nice at the front but it was pretty loud. Nice location though

DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL!!! I was there during the renovations. Are our plane was scheduled to arrive at 6 a.m. We called them a week in advance and asked if we could get a room for the night that we were coming in. They said no, they had openings but they would not accept a check in after 7 a.m. They said they would put a note by our name so we could check in at 10 am which is earlier than normal. Regular check in is at 3 p.m. We arrived at the hotel at 10 a.m. like they told us to and the staff told us they were getting a room cleaned for us. We hung around the hotel checking in with staff often. They always told us they were getting a room clean for us. After continuing to check in on an hourly basis and hanging around the lobby of the hotel they continued to tell us they were getting a room clean and rolling their eyes and becoming very rude. We finally got checked into our room at 4 p.m. To any Traveler reading this do not stay at this hotel!

Do not stay here! The first time I stayed at this hotel we had gotten our keys to our room and when we went to open the door there was already a couple inside sleeping. When we went to the front desk to tell them they were very apologetic and tried to accommodate to make up for the mistake. Because of that we decided to give them another try on our next trip.
Which brings me to today. My boyfriend and I had booked two nights at this hotel. This morning we were rudely awaken by the maid. When we informed her that we were booked for two nights she began to yell at us telling us we were wrong. We sent her away insisting that she was in the wrong. The maid proceeded to come back and harass us 4 times over the course of a few hours. Every time we informed her that we were staying another night and we didn’t need cleaning she proceeded to argue with us. After she finally left, the hotel manager (Jerome) came and kicked us out for being «rude» to their staff. I’m sitting here now utterly appalled at the lack of customer service, accountability, staff training, staff communication and over all competence of this facility. So please, if you want to keep your sanity DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

First night was fine, I was actually pleasantly impressed with the hotel. We didn’t ask for our room cleaned for the second night, we usually don’t. Our 5 yo was very sick and had her first ever bed time accident. I call the front desk for new bedding at 1:30. I had to call twice because first was hung up. Then I had to call again at 2am, again first time calling at this time was hung up on, she forgot our room number and didn’t know where to send the stuff. Then we get a call a few minutes later the the hotel was entirely out of bedding. How the hell is this possible? I asked for a manager in the morning who wasn’t in, but the front desk girl with attitude, said full house with several people in many rooms, it’s possible. Okay, so if we had wanted our sheets changed the day before, some guests would’ve been shorted 2 sets of sheets? Ive worked in 2 hotels in 2 major cities, and have NEVER heard of anything like this. This is busy south Florida and this hotel is not prepared for the amount of guests it brings in. We had to comfort a five year old without waking the other 2 children, because she could crawl back into her bed after clean up. My husband and I (I btw VERY pregnant!) Had to try to sleep very uncomfortably the rest of the night. I’m upset by this, and will now asks hotels when I book if they are prepared for large numbers of guests.

First off let me just tell you that if your expecting for them to be on top of their game think again. We get to the room and there is this horrible burning smell. Not a very good sign if you ask me so we called the front desk they said they will send someone up to fix it. We go out to eat dinner with friends and get back to the hotel the air seemed to be fixed but it would make this weird beeping noise… great… so we went to sleep thinking that we coud just ignore the noise but then it got louder! in the middle of the night the noise woke us up we had to keep banging the unit just for the noise to stop, so needless to stay we did not have a good night AT ALL! the next morning we complained they said they would send some one up again to fix it we go out for the day, getting back late afternoon, and now the a/​c doesnt even turn on… we called saying what horrible service this was and asked to change to another room and the woman just said well i can have some one change the unit just go to the pool for a bit…
when we checked out they didnt even ask us how our stay was and she ruined my vacation because I was tired from the sleeplessnight due to their falty a/​c unit…
I will never stay at this place ever again, I staied with teo other couples so you lost 6 people as a returning customer… please tech your staff how to deal withsituations like this, you could have just moved us to a different room and all of this could have been avoided…

February 8, 2015. 3 – 4 stars. I notice that many reviews are two years old. I am currently staying at the hotel and it’s okay. It’s still undergoing renovations but some are already completed. The pool deck is new and very pleasant. However, the pool is cold and today, Sunday, the hot tub is cold (with a promise that maintenance will fix it). The room is clean; the bathroom spotless having been recently renovated; the bed is very comfortable; and the breakfast more than adequate. The furnishings are not up to 5-​star standard but are more than sufficient.
If you have your own car, this hotel is 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale and about an hour from the Port of Miami. This will be our hotel of choice next time we cruise from one of these ports. And, having stayed at a couple of over-​priced really crummy hotels right in Fort Lauderdale, this one is paradise in comparison.
Book well in advance as they were fully booked last weekend, fully booked this weekend and next weekend.
One more note: the staff members are all friendly and helpful. Terrian has been the one to ensure our stay has been good. Thanks Terrian.

I have one word for you «BUGS». I had to stay here one night and I saw roaches and ants in my room. I called the front desk and said they would sent some to spray.

I stayed for only three days. While there was issues with clean towels and late cleanups. The continental breakfast was decent; eggs sausages, bagels and waffles was more than I expected. Pool was kept clean and Jacuzzi was always full of people. However, the staff was exceptional friendly. One in particular I must mention; Ms. Louise Williams was always attentive to the guests no matter how annoying they were. She always had a smile and was friendly. She made my stay at Best Western an absolute pleasure. I would recommend this hotel on customer service alone.

My husband and I checked in for a king size «suite» and we were not pleased.
This place is an old building with «new renovations» all they did was use new bedding and plasma tvs to make it appealing to the eye. When you walk into your room, you get an eye sore!
You definitely get what you pay for here.
I expected better considering the fact that it is near a freeway and receives alot of travelers.
The room was cleaned as best as it could but the stained carpets and mold on the walls bring you back to reality.
This place is a dump and I would not recommend checking in for more than 1 night.
