A Center for Alternative Medicine and Spa

I am writing this review because I came to this spa with my cousin and left after the massause didn’t show up until an hour later. So many negatives about this place! Don’t waste your time. Go someplace else. It’s supposed to be intimate but it’s not.

The only positive thing about this place is the Hispanic lady that works there. She made the experience great. She was very inviting from the get go. The owner was late for the couples massage.
Owner is not organized, she booked a couples massage an hour early when we mentioned 12:00 pm numerous times, then she left and was late to our appt at 12.
The owner did one of the couples massage. She left a few times to answer the front door during the massage.
Place is dirty, the owner mentioned tipping $ 30 four times while we were there, and a two hour service was only an hour and 30 mins.
She is very money hungry and it shows. She even bickered at the Hispanic lady for not pushing me to pay for extra ten dollars for a product used during the massage. The owner was being pushy on the hispanic in front of me. We weren’t even done with services and the owner was very condescending to the Hispanic lady before service was done.
I normally do not make negative remarks but stay away.

Terrible, the most terrible place. Even after four months I’m still upset for the money I paid. Working us a nurse in the hospital the owner of the spa hired somebody to sell some packages which I’m going to attach a picture so people will know what I’m talking about. Each package was $ 55 for my birthday and my husband’s birthday I decided to give him a present. Neither of us were happy going to that place. These horrible place and owner Linda is trying pushing to sell expired products and when they did my facial my face was dry and feel terrible. I found out now from my friend who was working in her spa for a short period of time the owner didn’t want to change lines after each client and using expired products for facial. Now I realized why my face felt strange. And not giving the tip to the therapist she is the greediest woman. From 4 visits that We were supposed to go went one time. After several messages she left in my phone I told her to read all the reviews to see the reason We will never go back.

I was hoping to give it more than the one. But Linda started off the wrong foot by being late. She gave me the massage and said she did not charge me for the deep tissue which no way was it even deep. The other therapist Howard was great according to my friend. Sorry, I wish I could give it more stars. Oh, she also puts her tips in the price. I would not give her 20%

Ok so let me start off with saying I have never been to this establishment however after what just happened at my place of business I felt it necessary to write this review. I had a woman walk in with a flyer stating she was offering this amazing package deal worth almost $ 400.00 for only $ 55.00. My Co worker and I asked her several questions about the establishment and she failed to answer even one. Originally we thought it was a great deal despite her not having any knowledge of the place she was trying to sell us on. So we took her flyer and started to write our name and phone number on the flyer. Then something just didn’t feel right so I hoped on Unilocal.Seen the horrible reviews of this place and politely told her I changed my mind. She then proceeded to ask why. Did I need to explain myself? No not really but I told her I spoke to my husband and that’s why I changed my mind. My Co worker also decided not to purchase and she also asked her why and she states she was only going to go if I went. I handed her back the flyer and she says well you already wrote your information on here and I can’t reuse this sooooo. Ummm excuse me, not my problem there is no way your gonna make me pay for something because I wrote my name down. She then asks for some tape and we politely hand her our tape then she storms out of the office. Well unbeknownst to me she had also given a flyer to another employee so she walks back into our office demanding he gives it back to her and he says hey I might be interested give me a minute I have a customer. So another Co worker offers to make him a photo copy of the flyer so he can look it over and let her know before she leaves. The lady offering the package snatches the flyer out of her hand and says NO and storms out. Anyone that has that type of attitude when they are trying to sell a product should not be in sales whatsoever. I would NEVER walk into this place even if they were offering their services for free.

I totally recommend this spa! Very friendly staff and I loved my massage and facial! I’ll be back!

I never been to a better spa. It’s beautiful. It’s spacious. The amenities are wonderful. It is simply top notch.
The massages here are the best I’ve ever had. What’s really great is that compared with all of the spas in the area, I got to experience first class service with the owner who was very accommodating since I was running late for my appointment, Linda. I swear the people at A Center For Alternative Medicine and Spa go to the Harvard of massage school. Marina is the absolute best masseuse. But I am confident that no matter who I see, I will get an excellent massage.
A Center For Alternative Medicine and Spa is my favorite spa. I simply love it!
I have been coming here for acupuncture and massage’s for the last 3 years.

Had a Groupon and found out they’re closed on the wee-​end. Not convenient so I rushed after work. Was told to come early if possible for my appointment. Came 5−10mn early and nobody was at the front desk for 10mn. Owner/​receptionist finally walks in from running an errand.
I’m finally taken in 30mn after my appointment time. The owner was very talkative and chats loudly with the previous customer right outside my room for 20mn until my masseuse go outside to ask them to lower their voices. They keep on talking. My service lasted 1 hr and didn’t include a peppermint foot and ankle massage, just the usual massage. I agreed to add aromatherapy and it was just a scented massage lotion.
At check out, I was told to pay $ 30 in tip as part of the $ 89 groupon but that wasn’t mentonned in the deal. After I’m 5mn away from the spa, I get a call from the owner saying to immediately drive back before she hangs up. Turns out she forgot to charge me for the «aromatherapy» and made me come back to pay $ 10! You decide if that’s the place for you.

This place is actually called «Alternative Medicine-​The Spa». And what an awful experience this was. I felt so bad because this was my Valentine’s gift for my hubby, and boy what a disappointment.
I got a groupon that said:
Couples learn massage techniques and practice on each other with the help of a massage therapist. Couples can sip herbal teas indulge in hors D’ouevres and leave with a special goody for $ 149.
When we got there we waited for about 20 mins, there was no herbal tea and/​hors d’oeuvres.
The owner of the place (a very pushy lady) was offering us aromatherapy and champagne for an extra fee. We declined. Then she told us she needed to collect $ 50 for tips. First of all «a tip» is based on the service provided, why is she collecting the tip beforehand? When I told her I didn’t like that she was asking for a tip before receiving any service, she got very nasty with me and started saying I was giving her an attitude. I’m the customer here, and you are asking for $ 50 of tip for 1 hr of service.
We were two people but were not receiving the service at the same time, it wasn’t two therapists doing the work. The massage was really for 15mins on each other and there wasn’t any instructions, just look at what I’m doing, you go up and down… The lady therapist that was in the room with us was actually very nice, and she made the whole experience more pleasant because she realized the owner was being very rude to us, so she was the only good part of this awful experience.
Anyways, we paid and then went inside the room. The whole room was kind of nasty, the floor, the bed, even the bathrobe we were provided look used. The toilet was clogged, and the so called herbal tea was nowhere to be found. Also the indulgence of hors D’ouevres was a pretzel stick and a piece of chocolate that we didn’t even try because we just wanted to get out of there. There was no instruction package or special goodie anything.
Run away from this place. They are not nice and not clean. Totally a waste of our time and money. Thumbs down!!!
