History

Established in 1986.

Inspired by her passion for creating positive changes in people’s lives, Beyond Beauté’s founder and CEO, Shirley Terry-​Lopez, began her beauty career as an image consultant and make-​up artist in 1983.

In 1986, Shirley opened a 1,200-square-foot facial salon in Deer Park, Texas, named Beyond Beauté Skin Care. She was not only the sole skin care specialist for two years, but the sole employee, and partnered with local dermatologists to help clear up various skin challenges.

Shirley’s passion for health and wellness led her to study the science of longevity and diseases relating to stress, and she soon discovered how valuable the power of touch was in reducing those stressors, improving the quality of life. Over the next few years, she researched how the European spas used the holistic approach, such as massage and body treatments with natural seaweed and various minerals from earth and sea to strengthen the body’s immune systems. After receiving her esthetician license, Shirley opened up her shop in a small Deer Park strip center. Her focus on a relaxing atmosphere and the entire well being of her clients has grown Beyond Beauté into the two locations it has today. Beyond Beauté Day Spa is consistantly recognized as one of the Top 10 Spas in the Houston area.
