Terrible customer service. When I called for a quote, I expected the phone to be answered by someone that would connect me with an agent or even take my name and number and have an agent call me. Neither of these things happened. I immediately called the next insurance company on the list and was completely taken care of. I think it is a policy thing from the ownership so I can’t blame the operator that answered the phone. Still disappointed though.

This is a review of our Master Condominium policy in Boston which we’ve had with N&D for 9 years! When we finally needed it, they paid less than they should have and then cancelled the policy!
We had a ice dam related water damage from the adjoining condo in our condo that should have been pretty straightforward to assess. Instead, we had to go through 2 different adjustors over 3−½ months before we even got a claim paid out. The ultimate claim was for only ¹⁄₃^rd of the cost of replacing the damaged property despot the policy supposedly covering replacement costs. Then to add insult to injury, they sent a notice of non-​renewal. We’ve paid as much in premiums over 9 years as the amounts we’ve claimed. What is worse, they didn’t even bother to assess that the damage was not caused by poor maintenance!
NEVER use these guys. they only want to insure you if you don’t want to claim

I am not a fan of this auto ins company. They are unprofessional and charge way too much. I did not renew my policy b/​c of these things. Never ever again!

I m going to change the insurance company. the customer service is not professional. not polite to answer my question. and not help my car get enough money to fix. and I have to wait for two week to replace my rear bumper. that is suck.

I just spent the last 25 mins trying to speak to someone about a claim. I was put on hold and transferred at least 6 or 7 times and kept coming back to the same person who would instantly say please hold and transfer me before i could even finish speaking. The customer service here is horrendous.

A tree fell on our house, busting out the 2^nd floor window and part of the wall. Almost 2 weeks later no adjustor. I’ve called the adjustor directly, an Adam Clancy of Eagle Adjusters. Never returns calls. Called Norfolk & Dedham Group and was told «that’s horrible, we’ll look into it» «I’ll call you right back» NOTHING. Multiple times!
Don’t ever sign up with these people. This is the most unacceptable, unprofessional bullcrap I’ve ever experienced. You’ve been warned!

I can’t speak for their car insurance, but their condo insurance has been first rate. We got good customer service on a completely flooded bathroom. The adjuster was more than reasonable and helped us through the process. Our experience could not have been more different from these reviews about car insurance.

One of the worst service I have ever experienced. High fees and impossible to cancel my policy. NEVER EVER insure with them!

they are a mess. it was impossible to cancel a policy. 6 – 7 phone calls, emails and letters to them but still they sent invoices for a canceled policy and then sent it to collections. Very hard to find a service person who would help, even when we got them on the phone and they said they’d fix it.

We love N & D! Their rates were so much less than our past company and they have been so great to deal with. My daughter got into an accident and they were awesome and very prompt in paying to get the car fixed.

We bought their insurance for our new car a few months ago, and our car was in an accident that was not OUR fault. But these people gave us such a HARD time with the car being fixed, and they sent an INVESTIGATOR to our house to questions our family & accident. It was as if OUR own insurance is going AGAINST us and NOT helping us out like they should have especially when we’re the one paying THEM. We ended up filing the claim again ourselves and do everything on our own because they refused to help. This is a terrible insurance company and I would NOT recommend anyone to buy this insurance. Please beware!

I would think twice before signing your car up with this insurance company, They’re very deceptive and don’t treat their customers with honesty. The total loss specialist assured me that he would listen to everything I had to say and look at everything I sent him his way.
After I didn’t agree with their initial offer, I sent receipts documenting all the work I had done to the vehicle within the last six months and I sent documents discrediting some of their evaluation methods of my car. After about the second or third phone call I had made to Brendan, the total loss specialist, he became the most unfriendly and uncooperative person I had ever met. He told me he was done listening to me and that he wouldn’t change the actual cash value he put on the vehicle. After speaking with his supervisor who was able to increase the value I had to wait about 2 weeks until my check was sent out. This was due to Mr. Spence not receiving an email clarifying information for the payment.
I then find out about a week after that they had dropped my coverage because the car was totaled. Even though the car is in better condition then most cars on the road. Apparently this insurance company will drop you from their coverage if you have 3 claims in the 2 years even if NONE of those claims are your fault. Especially since one of the claims was a windshield replacement, which is supposed to be replaced if there are too many divots on it. However instead of doing their job and covering your car they just drop you.
