Lovely Nails & Spa

Have been coming here off an on for past few months service is pretty fair but feel they don’t take their time always rushing to get the next customer in their seat. The receptionist is not very friendly and has a somewhat pushy attitude with both customers and staff. From reading other reviews I’m not the 1^st to mention this to bad the owner doesn’t see it. I’m sure it’s a culture thing. Can’t say I won’t be back but would consider other local places before Lovely Nails.

Melissa is so rude!!! I have been going since they opened and their customer service is horrible now. The quality of the work on the nails aren’t the same. It used to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience going to that salon.

I have been a customer at this salon for since I moved to Hyde park/​Dedham 3 years ago. Today was my last day. I was 10 minutes late for my appointment (personal reasons) and was pretty much scolded by the front desk person Missy as if she were my mother. She was loud and rude, clearly she wanted the whole salon to hear. I understand that it is a business and time is money; there’s a way to go about things and I felt that she wanted to make an example out of me. Her attitude is hot and cold on certain days which is not good for someone who is supposed to be the first point of contact for customers. I was there about a week and a half ago and got a particular gel color which I KNOW they had two of. The tech was assisting me and trying to convince me to get another color. Last I checked I am the customer and I want what I want. I asked if she could check the tables as they have had colors there or on the pedicure carts in the past. She gave me an attitude and was dismissive and talking trash in her language. I know because as I was looking back at them everyone was staring at me, even Missy trying to be sneaky talking about me. I was so close to telling them about themselves but it was too early for that and I refused to let them get me out of character. I simply left and went elsewhere. The service was superb where I went. Although they didn’t have the color I wanted they took the name down and said they would order it for next time and did not make me feel as if I was being a bother. And they assisted me with getting a color I would like. The owner/​manager here should do a customer service workshop. It is essential to running a successful business. No one should have to tolerate anyone else’s attitude especially where they are going to get serviced. Good day

I will never come back here. Over the past year or two it’s definitely declined. The girls are rude, especially the two that sit in the front by the receptionist stand, they all chat amongst each other in their language, but it’s obvious they are speaking about people in the salon, and that is uncomfortable. I went back today because my daughter loves the kids chairs and I know Amy always does a great job. My 4 year old wanted four colors put on, as she has in the past because… she’s 4, and they wanted to upcharge me for that. I had never been upcharged before. She told me it would be $ 35 for a kids pedi and nails painted!!! That is ridiculous and I said so. She’s 4!
As it is, all the prices have gone up. My gel many was $ 30! Seems like we’re being nickeled and dimed probably because business is slow.
The feeling amongst my friends is that the staff is less than professional and now with the prices having gone up, I will not be back.

Great place! Went in last night for a full set. My nails looked great and took half the time it takes at the place I normally go. The place was pretty busy and I thought I might have to wait but was seen right away.

The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is the wait!!! I called for a gel manicure. Made a 4:45 appointment on a Sunday. When I got there, I found out there’s a difference in who can do the liquid gel & the gel powder. Only 1 person could do liquid gel (Lee) & she was with a customer. They said 20 – 30 minute wait. I’m positive I waited 1hr 15 mins. I only waited because (1) Unilocal reviews spoke highly of Lee and (2) I was there with my cousin. So I waited
I have a very low tolerance for pain so getting my nails done isn’t always a great experience but she was so gentle!!! Not only that, she did a great job with both my eyebrows and my nails!!! 3 weeks later and I am still getting complements! I’m surprised I haven’t popped one yet but from what I can tell, they use good quality products.
If it weren’t for the gentle care & the great outcome, I would have given this place a 1 or 2 stars. Customer service clearly isn’t the priority. For ex: receptionist asks me if I wanted gel powder or liquid & I asked her to explain. When I had addition questions she is suddenly so busy & says «I don’t know, I’m just the receptionist». And while waiting 20 years for Lee, the owner/​manager Tommy (I think was his name) was clearly ignoring me when so was trying to get his attention to ask for an update. They’re lucky to have Lee

Had my second pedicure there today. I asked for Kayla because she was great the last time I was there. She really did a great job again today. I did a regular pedicure which includes hot rocks on your feet and legs. The best pedicure I have ever had. I highly recommend it.

Just went here for the first time and I had to write a review. Came on a Monday late afternoon– not busy at all and it was perfect. She took her time on my spa pedicure, giving me the works because she said they weren’t busy. I have to say it is the best one I’ve gotten in years! I will absolutely be going back and I got a spa pedicure and eyebrow wax all for $ 43!

The front desk person «Missy» was so rude. I will never go back. The pedicures have been nice. The manicure not so great. Parking is awful. I brought two friends and we had scheduled pedicures. My friends were taken even though we all arrived together. Thirty five minutes later, I was still waiting at which point I did not want to make my friends wait for me. Missy offered no apology. She could have cared less. There are too many salons around to have to tolerate being mistreated. AWFUL

I came here yesterday for what my friends and I thought would be a relaxing spa day, but it wasn’t so relaxing for me. I got a gel manicure for the first time, and I have to say that the result was disappointing. I typically do my nails on my own, as I’m fairly decent at it, but so many of my friends get gel manicures now, and it always looks so good that I decided I’d jump on the bandwagon and try it out.
The lady who did my nails was not very friendly. Note that I haven’t gotten a manicure in years since I do my nails on my own, and so I wasn’t familiar with the process, so maybe other people who are more familiar with it won’t feel this way. I think the lady expected me to know exactly what I was supposed to do with my hands the whole time, as she was not very nice at explaining the process. She told me to relax my hand once, and then a few minutes later I accidentally tensed up my hand again. This time she snapped at me and told me to relax. Maybe she didn’t mean to snap and it just came out rude, but I felt nervous and uncomfortable at that point. Additionally, I was unfamiliar with the UV light and how long I was supposed to keep my hands under there. I took my left hand out first when she asked for it, and after she finished painting my left hand, I took my right hand out, assuming this was what I was supposed to do. She then told me, not very nicely, that I needed to leave my hand in until the light turned off. However, later on in the process, she asked me to give her my hand before the light turned off, so I was really confused about the process and what I was supposed to be doing.
My friends all got spa pedicures when I got my manicure. I would give this place 5 stars for the pedicures. My friends all LOVED their pedicures and said they were super relaxing. The ladies who did their pedicures were very friendly too. I think I was just unlucky, and maybe if I had gotten a pedicure or if someone else had done my nails I would have had a better experience. However, the manicure honestly looked WORSE than what I can do on my own, which says a lot since I spent $ 30 on it. My boyfriend who, like most guys, is pretty clueless about manicures and everything related to painting nails, made a comment that night that my nails didn’t look that great and that there was paint on the skin surrounding the nails. The fact that he noticed this really says something as well.
So basically… I’d say 5 stars for the pedicures, 2 stars for the manicure. I will not be coming back for a manicure again, but would maybe come back for a pedicure.

I was in the salon today with some of my clients. They are in wheelchairs and have disabilities. I believe the receptionist came to the door. She didn’t even let us get into the salon just to say it was fully booked. She was also quiet about her approach like she knew what she was doing. The receptionist had an attitude and she needs to learn some hospitality. We were not asked what service we wanted just turned away. Other woman were let into the salon with no issues and not turned away. I called this afternoon and services were all the sudden available. That is discrimination and it is illegal. I have contacted Hank Ryan of channel seven news to let her know of their business practices. I will not personally be doing business with their salon in the future. I will not let friends or family come to that business either. The worst experience in a nail salon I have ever had. I will never go back to this salon ever again. Sad when woman want to get there nails done but can’t. I wish i could rate my review with no stars.

I love coming here. It gets busy, so call ahead and make an appointment before showing up. My favorite technician is Angela– she does an amazing french mani!

Won’t go back. They have the worst customer service ever, very rude … I made the biggest mistake of coming there in stead of my regular Top Coat Nails (in Legacy Place, cause they were super busy, and couldn’t take me right away). Lesson learned. You get what you pay for. Skip this place and go to Top Coat. It’s a little bit more expensive over there but it’s worth the price.

I finally found a new nail salon. The gel manicure was perfect and the pedicure was out of this world ! They massage your feet and legs so long ! Reminds me of Nail salons back in Miami

Hien, Helen, it’s the best. Fast awesome. I constantly get compliments and people ask were I get my n nails done. And I recommend lovely!

Very clean. Very chill vibe. I have never been a regular at any nail salon in my life until now. Jenny is the best!

Getting an amazing Spa Pedicure here tonight with Miss Lily. Nice, clean and relaxing. Exactly what I needed for myself after a long dreary rainy day.

I took my mother here last night so that we could get pedicures. We got there at 7pm, walked in and they asked what we were having. I said «Pedicures». The man told me «We’re not taking anymore customers tonight» and walked away without asking if we wanted to make an appointment for a later date or anything.
Now this would have been fine if the door didn’t say «Walk-​Ins Welcome». We didn’t feel welcomed at all! If you work by appointment only then post that somewhere! You close at 8:30pm, it’s 7pm, seriously, how long would 2 pedis take?
I’ll never go back to this place. I’ll stick with MiniLuxe!
