Worst dining experience I have ever had. I am still gagging from the after taste and have brushed my teeth. The Texas style french toast was just bread dipped in egg with powdered sugar on top, bland but edible(most recipes call for some type of sweetener beyond powdered sugar). I ate 2 out of 6 half slices. The corned beef and hash looked disgusting, and tasted worse. I could only take one bite and recommend canned corned beef and hash over theirs. The eggs were inedible. The water tasted like… clay? Cant quite put our fingers on it. Even the O.J. was gross according to my friend who was gagging after each sip. And to top it off, we were seated next to a bathroom and were provided silverware with chunks of food crusted onto it. But if you like cheap food, no space between you and neighboring patrons, and friendly service, by all means.

This is my favorite place to go for breakfast in Dedham. There is a different special every day. Lunch is good, too. The prices are excellent, the staff is warm and friendly, and there is a true camaraderie among the customers. This is the Cheers of breakfast places, where«everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came.»

The food is delicious and the atmospheres is so friendly and nice. Love this place! and definitely the best pancakes ever! Only thing to watch out for is that its a small place and gets filled up quick… so get there early. Highly recommended!

This a little gem, a divvy little mom and pop place. You can park across the street in the shopping Plaza if you have a big vehicle like me. Food was very good, nice quality sausage, very friendly people, super fast service at a good price. Will definitely be back

Simple, but consistently good breakfast and lunch food at reasonable prices. Their pancakes — especially the oatmeal and blueberry ones — are excellent! The place is small, though, so you may have to wait for a table at peak hours.

Avoid this place unless you like bland food. Had steak tips and eggs with home fries. Home fries seriously undercooked steak overcooked and fatty. Eggs were OK. Place is tiny and run down a bit. Waitress was nice thou. Won’t go back again.

This place was pretty good. The service was very friendly and warm. Our waiter was trying to speak French, Spanish and English to us, which I found pretty funny. I ordered coffee(very fresh) and eggs with steak tips. I asked for the eggs to be over median so the whites could be cooked but that didn’t happen. The steak and the homes fries didn’t have much flavor. I also ordered the French toast. It was cooked perfectly. I gave it three stars because the staff, coffee, and French toast was great. Also this place is cash only and it can get pretty crowded because it’s small so plan accordingly!

My girlfriend and I are fairly regular weekend diners here. This place is small, cash only, and very basic on the inside with minimal signage on the outside. Here’s why we like this place: they make simple, tasty, well priced breakfast food. The staff is extremely attentive and very friendly. DD gives the vibe of a local blue collar breakfast joint, which is pretty much what it is. They usually have some decent specials from time to time if that is your thing– my girlfriend usually tries the seasonal pancakes/waffles.

I was a regular, for a short time, until very recently. I thought the wait staff was very nice, and they knew my order before I placed it. It was the standards in the kitchen that turned me off inevitably. I found a a hair in my home fries, partially buried in the home fries too, so it was not lying on top. I walked in there wearing a baseball cap, and I was certain it was not mine, both due to that fact, the color of the hair, and the fact that it was partially buried before I even touched the plate. I signaled the wait staff that there was a hair in my plate. The waitress brought it into the kitchen and said something to the cook. I heard him say loudly, «It’s not mine!» This came from a guy who cooks wearing nothing on his head per code regulations. Then, fifteen seconds later, they brought me the same plate of eggs and bacon, and did not even re-cook the plate. I have no clue whether they gave me the same home fries, but I know when I’m looking at the same eggs cooked over hard and the same two strips of bacon. I immediately got up, and the waitress who was nice at least, did not require me to pay. I left, and went to IHop in Dedham instead. It was a shame, because the wait staff is nice, and the owner is nice when I see her. But, they need another cook. I didn’t like the guy’s attitude about what happened, and the fact he re-served me food that was on a plate with the hair. No way should anyone be cooking without a hat or net on their head. I will write a letter to the owner and report this to code enforcement for a write up. Not a nice way to treat a regular customer. I have also seen them do other things I do not approve of. I’ve seen people in the kitchen take their apron, and use it to wipe off the side of a plate. Things like that should not go on. It is a very small place, limited seating, and it tends to be loud, where patrons yell from the table over to the other side of the room, and back. Usually regulars having conversations with the wait staff by shouting back and forth. They take cash only, which is sometimes an inconvenience… you might have to go to the ATM first. The food is nice, if the cleanliness issues were resolved, it would be better.

all i can say is, we moved about ¾ mile from here about a month ago. we’ve passed it and thought«that looks like a home-y place to grab breakfast» and boy! were we ever right. i ordered a pumpkin french toast & eggs special — reasonably priced at $ 7.25. it came with 2 eggs, breakfast meat(ham, bacon or sausage), hash browns and a slice of pumpkin bread french toast(with raisins — super bonus!) the hubby ordered a meatless breakfast special with 2 eggs, home fries and 2 pancakes. they charge extra for pure maple syrup(which has gone up in price the last few years so i am happy to pay for that instead of aunt jemima) and for my hubby’s banana addition to his pancakes. very reasonable. prompt service. when i explained we had just moved to the neighborhood, we were warmly welcomed. we will definitely be back! YAY!

Gross. The breakfast business is tough and I had never been disappointed by breakfast food until this place. I ordered a special that was eggs with salmon and capers expecting it to be be eggs topped with smoked salmon and capers, instead it was all scrambled together in one big mess and tasted terrible. The waitstaff was what I expected, they argued with each other in front of customers and our server walked away from us half way through taking our order to yell at another waitress. Its a small place and too cramped to be comfortable. I also might have stomached the mess I ordered a little better if I hadn’t seen the kitchen staff touching my food barehanded.

SO hard to find a good diner in Mass that is tasty AND cheap. the DD is definitely both of those, one of the most reasonably priced options in the area and the food is great. Specials are usually something amazing, I have had breakfast and lunch here numerous times and it is one of my favorite places to eat.

SUPER cheap brunch place that is actually REALLY good. It looks a little run down, but I assure you the food makes up for it all. I’m in love with breakfast sandwiches, and this place is definitely top 5 on the list of breakfast sandies. There was a special of pumpkin french toast as well that I did not get to try. There are a lot of choices and definitely look out for the specials on the wall! Coming back here for sure!

I just came here with my daughter and our friends – they live in Dedham and I brought my daughter in to visit, although I live about an hour away. I really wish we lived close enough to come here more often – the food is excellent, the service friendly and accommodating and the prices can’t be beat. If we lived nearby, we would definitely be here every weekend!

Love this place! I come here for lunch anytime I’m working in the area. Its a cute small little diner. I think the food is very good. They have nice sandwhiches not in those sub rolls like every sub shop but on actual bread(all different kinds). I have had there breakfast a few times as well… all their food is so good. You can tell they care about what they’re making and dont just throw anything together to get you out the door and the next customer in. And their prices are great, very inexpensive. I get a sandwich, chips(come with it for free) or fries, and a drink for under 10 $! The staff are extremely out going. They always talk to you like they’ve known you for years, no matter if its your first time there of 100th. Im usually always there when Kim is waitressing and(I think his name is) Kevin is cooking. Theyre great! They make you feel right at home. I love places like this but sadly they are few and far between.
Do yourself a favor and just tryyyyy it. You’ll like it! oh and cash only! :-)

Good filling basic breakfast options. Small place about 20 seats. Priced well for diner style food. Great friendly service from the one waitress in the place. It’s a locals joint because she knew most by name. She asked me if I was just«passing thru» — and I was, I thought that was charming. The coffee was bitter but expected-Your not at Starbucks. I got a coffee, 2 eggs, homefries, sausage & toast for under $ 8. I cleaned my plate. Only(teeny tiny) complaint: I sat down at 8:54 but by the time the waitress came to take my order it was 9:06 so I didn’t get the«before 9am» specials price.
