Me and my friend and our two infants went here for lunch. We got the tomato bisque and squash bisque for an appetizer and then for lunch we split chicken sandwich and roasted kale and cauliflower sandwich. Everything was tasty. I do wish I had a dip for their homemade chips. But the real winner was our waitress Cynthia She was very helpful she brought out all of our plates split for us to share because while we were ordering she over heard us talking about sharing. Honestly our waitress Cynthia was the star of the show!!!

I was with my mother this afternoon. We arrived at the restaurant at about 12:30. There were two women at the front on the phone. For a good 2 minutes or so, they both stayed on their phones, talking without acknowledging us. Very dehumanizing. As a former waitress, the one rule is that the guest in front of you is more important than the phone customers, they should have been put on hold or had more people up front. Rude. We left and will never go back. They never even greeted us. Who needs that? Plenty of other places to go. I hope a manager sees this. I got a very prompt and courteous response from the owner, very impressive and will make me reconsider my decision to never try the restaurant again. It seems as if he is very willing to respond and correct issues pertaining to front of the house service. The first impression of the place is always from the moment you step into a restaurant, therefore how you are greeted can set the tone. Thank you very much for your lovely response.

Had a really great waitress. It helped that we had the same name! Fried cheddar with scallions, red jalapeño, and a great dipping sauce was excellent! And the Wagyu burger was beyond wonderful! Will go again!

Loud at dinner time, but excellent food and drink. Tight spaces between tables makes for awkward bathroom breaks and servers trying to navigate around.

Another place that is very good, but working in Boston, and getting home at 9:00 — 9:30, it closes much to early. This Legacy place complex is a place that closes so early for only being a 15 – 20 min ride outside Boston. It’s ashame! All we are looking for is a nice meal and a glass of wine, and we end up ordering dominos.

Surprised to see the mediocre reviews. Aquitane is has very good food, albeit it with overly high prices and pretentious service, although still polite and accommodating. The fish dishes are great, very nice cocktails. You won’t get anything bad. It’s another one of those Boston suburb«very good food with prices that suggest it would be top 1% but isn’t.» types of places.

Took a friend here for her birthday. Meal was good and staff was attentive. It is not a place I would normally go to, but I would definitely try it again.

3.5 Stars I use to frequent the Aquitaine in the South End and now I have been going to the Dedham location for lunch. Good ambiance although it can get loud in here. I particularly like how you can get 22oz drafts of Kronenbourg 1664. The food can be hit or miss depending on what you order: –The Croque Madame & Wagyu Burger were very good. –The French Onion soup was just okay. –The French Dip sandwich was average; instead of actually having an au jus sauce to dip your sandwich in(like the name would suggest) the bread comes soggy.(I guess they pre-dip it.) –The Steakfrites were surprisingly NOT good. You get a few pieces of bite-size steak that are bland and chewy. At the lunch price of $ 18.95 I felt like I was getting ripped-off. Aquitaine’s online menu describes the lunch Steakfrites as «Flat Iron Steak» whereas the dinner Steakfrites is described as «Brandt Natural Hanger Steak» so I am not sure if they use a cheaper cut of meat for lunch? I have not had any issues with the service. Aquitaine is one of the nicer restaurants in Legacy Place. While I would not make plans to specifically go to Aquitaine, I will continue to come here out of convenience; when I am in the area.

Disappointing and getting worse. I have been a huge fan of Aquitaine’s original South-End location since the 90s. I am still a fan of that location, and the Chestnut Hill one. I was thrilled when the Dedham location opened closer to my office, several years ago. I have probably eaten at Aquitaine locations 100 times. The Dedham Aquitaine has always been inferior, and it’s gradually getting worse. My most recent order of Steak Frites(their signature dish, I’m told), came with«old» tasting steak, sad/pale fries, and wilted/sad watercress with a few awkward clumps of flavored mayo in the salad. The bread had the taste and texture of cheap supermarket french bread. The whole plate was made by someone who does not really know about nor care about cooking. Maybe a high-school kid or something, but I should not be paying fine-dining money for a Chili’s-quality culinary experience. The extremely soft, bland music contributed to the suburban shopping-mall feel of the place. They used to have hip, Euro-lounge music playing, or something. Not this muzak vibe. I can’t recommend this location, but the ones in Chestnut Hill and the South End are awesome. A few weeks ago we were at the Chestnut Hill location, and they had this spectacular melon gazpacho appetizer, some kind of duck concoction, etc: outstanding experience. Then we show up at Dedham and everything is just sad and cheap.

so the food is good, I don’t have anything bad to say about the variety of dishes we got. The gnocchi wasn’t great, but past that everything tasted great. 3 stars is because of the service. It took a few extra minutes for them to seat us for whatever reason. Then it took almost 15 minutes for a waiter to actually come over and get some water on our table. Maybe another 10 minutes passed and we got to place our orders, but still had to wait for bread. Service aside, the food was great. They have incredible bread. We got the veal schnitzel dish, the ravioli, the pea salad, the warm beat, french onion soup and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was the only thing that we wouldn’t get again. The veal dish was awesome, would get that again. For portions, it was bigger than everything else. Good size for a french dish. Overall, food is great but service is slow.

We had dinner here tonight, and it was okay. It was a nice evening so we decided to have dinner outside, which is a plus. The service was good. We were seated immediately and brought water. We had soup and a meal each. I had the onion soup, and it was a little too heavy on the bay leaf and salt, and did not have too much onions. The crock was a little small. For my entrée, I had the Saturday plat du jour, which was skirt steak and mashed potatoes. The skirt steak was all of three slices(see picture). It was good, but I was a bit hungry, and was looking for a healthy sized steak. We skipped dessert after seeing some of the desserts that were being served to patrons around us. I am not sure if I would come back again.

We arrived around 5:15 pm on a Wednesday evening. All of Legacy Place was fairly quiet(by Legacy standards). The host was friendly & sat us in a cozy booth. The ambience is quite nice inside. There is quaint patio seating as well but it was too hot outside. Our waitress(named Carmella, maybe) arrived promptly to take our drink order. I was eyeing 3 interesting cocktail choices but she recommended the French Manicure with a sugared rim and it was a great recommendation. I had two. For food, we started with the mussels. The flavor was exquisite. I couldn’t get enough of the fresh mussels and dunking my bread in the garlic, wine and butter sauce. Excellent! We then shared the NE Corn Chowder. My boyfriend misread the menu and was expecting clam chowder and was initially disappointed but quickly recovered. The soup was bursting with flavor and the consistency was smooth but chunky with plenty of corn and just downright good! We then ordered two seafood choices: he got the sole with mashed and I ordered the pan seared scallops with puréed parsnips. The scallop dish originally came with beans but I substituted for the chili dusted brussel sprouts. Oh. My. God. Flavor. Flavor galore. I couldn’t get enough. There is a talented chef in that kitchen and I am eager to return and try everything on that menu. Bravo! If I could change one thing(and I’m being nitpicky here) but I do not like how the bread is served. In a bag. As if it is «to go». At least serve it with a proper cutting knife and perhaps a small cutting board. It was awkward. But the bread itself was very good.

Went with a group of 3 people for lunch. Quickly seated in their outdoor area. It was shaded and service was quick. Chicken Ceasar Salad was delicious, and the chicken was warm and juicy!

Meal: Diner We enjoyed the beet salad and I decided to give the butternut squash soup another try. It was fantastic! It was creamy and delicious. We had the tuna nicoise which was a large portion and the pasta bolognese. The pasta tasted like it was home-made and the meat sauce was delicious even though it was a bit on the salty side for my taste. Service: Service here is always great. Thank you Silqwan.

Aquitaine is a staple in my restaurant rotation that I’ve somehow overlooked reviewing. After another nice lunch there last weekend it’s time to give Aquitaine their due. I had the fresh, nourishing Tuscan Kale salad w/Feta and toasted almonds — usually it’s pumpkin seeds($ 11.95 and big enough to share) and my wife had the prix fixe brunch for $ 11.95 which included fresh OJ or coffee, two mini cinnamon rolls, choice of three entrees, each served with potatoes and toast. Many items on the brunch menu are even less expensive — check it out for yourself I love their soups, salads and appetizers. Escargot en croute, French Onion Soup are excellent. My wife and I usually eat a the bar; me enjoying one of about 10 or 12 good beers on tap(including the rarely seen Kronenbourg) and a cocktail. The entrees are generally in the mid to upper $ 20s with outliers in the low $ 20s and $ 30s. The Bolognese($ 22.95) is not a dish you might expect at a French bistro, but Aquitaine’s version is second only to my wife’s, and she thinks it’s a close second, too. You can mix and match a few appetizers instead of entrees for better portion control and variety. Service is always very good: attentive; accommodating; and not formal but not too casual. I highly recommend Aquitaine. Let me know what you think of this review by clicking a button below. Thanks.

This place is super cute and trendy… had eaten there in the past but for some reason had never loved it. Today was a bit different because we were there for a private party where they clearly pulled out all the stops. We had a private section roped off for us with cute little menus. Everyone raved about the french toast so I got it, but definitely preferred hubbies goat cheese and mushroom omelette with potatoes. I had a pom mimosa which was tasty but also envied the winter sangria. So basically, I made the wrong choices but service was excellent and I would go back again.

My review applies to the lunch menu only as I have never eaten at this location for dinner before. So: go to Aquitaine for lunch. That’s my review. If you’re in the Dedham area and feel like eating a *meal* there’s no better option. Grab a seat at the bar(faster, more attentive service) and come between 3 – 6 and eat $ 1 raw oysters with lovely vinaigrette and seafood sauce accompaniments. No matter what time you come in, you should order a cocktail or two. They’ll be delicious and I recommend the Madame Lillet particularly. Eat the scrumptious free bread and avoid the sandwich and soup lunch special unless you’re really craving a soup and sandwich(avoid the tomato soup entirely unless you’re planning on dipping your bread in it– it’s a bit under-seasoned). Save the typical lunch food for Panera and go for the delicious, tantalizing steak and frites Aquitaine is serving instead. It comes with a small side salad to the left of the plate and is perfectly juicy and has enough sauce to drag all your fries through. If you have room, get a pretty little dessert, a latte, and then brace yourself to head back into the chaotic world of the Dedham Legacy shopping center again.

Me and a few friends came here after work specifically because they had vieux carre’s on their cocktail menu and I was craving one… The drink did not disappoint neither did the crispy Gruyère cheese and duck flat bread. The cheese fondue was way on the greasy side the whole top was a pool of grease so I would not recommend that. Service at the bar was friendly. For dinner I had the cheeseburger which was solid. No complaints no rave reviews but I also got a side of roasted mushrooms. Dang those were tasty. I look forward to coming back and trying out their brunch menu because it looks good.

Incredible food. Went here for brunch on a Sunday. Ordered the Provençal Eggs Benedict(vegetarian) and the mussels with basil, crême fraiche and white wine. The mussels were rather small and they don’t give you much, but the sauce and pommes frites were perfectly seasoned. Goes great with that pomegranate bellini! The only issue I had was the English muffin in the Eggs Benedict, which was burnt and very dry. Otherwise, the dish was a hit. Really liked the somewhat smokey flavor of the lemon hollandaise sauce. Definitely would love to visit their other Boston locations!
