Beautiful salon, great location. Uses great products and they take their time with you. Warm and welcoming. No need to drive to Newbury St! Usually a nice tray of
treats to go with tea or coffee. Go ahead and pamper yourself!

I got a Brazilian for a groupon here and I had Charlene. She was so nice and did an excellent job! She made sure I got exactly what I wanted and even though it’s the worst pain ever the world, she did a great job to soothe it with talc and and chatted me up to keep me distracted.
Everyone was super friendly and the room was super nice! It was very very clean and professional and there was some calming music playing too lol! U could even buy the groupon at the salon, which I did. So easy! I would highly recommend getting that groupon deal and making an appointment w Charlene!

I bought a groupon for 3 brazilians. I have been twice so far and saw 2 different ladies. They both did a great job. Everyone is friendly, professional and polite. The salon itself is very clean. I would highly recommend them.

Had a facial here recently (gift card as a present) & the lady who did my facial was so annoying. She talked throughout most of the facial & was really quick & not gentle or relaxing when applying product. And, she tried to sell me product throughout my facial as well as afterwards (huge turnoff). She finally told me it was time to relax, put something on my face, quickly massaged it into my face, then left the room for 20 minutes (um, where’s my head massage?). She returned, wiped everything off my face, made a big deal about how much better my skin looked, then tried to sell me more product. I think they need a lesson in how to read people. Granted, I was not rude, but I certainly was not overly responsive. This facial cost my gift giver $ 100! I’ve had many a facial and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I had been here for nails before and really enjoyed that experience, but now they no longer offer that service.

As a girl who grew up in Dedham, I have had many choices of where to get my hair done. I’ve tried it all and finally I tried it here on a groupon. This was a great experience and the staff was so friendly and professional while still making me feel like one of them. The owner Tony cut and colored my hair and I let him pick they style and color and I must say it was the best I’ve ever seen it! I’ve already booked my next appointment for a facial and hair cut!!!
All in all, I was pleased by the staff, The hair do, and most importantly the cheap prices and the fact they had a full spa!!!

WORST SERVICE EVER! Unbelievably rude receptionist, owner who had always «stepped out» when I called, attitude like they were the best salon in Soho. They clearly know nothing about running a service oriented business– eg, be NICE to customers. I know I’ll never go again and will discourage anyone else from going ever. STAY AWAY unless you want to be treated like s**t.

I bought a groupon for this place for a manicure and pedicure back in the spring. I had weddings that I tried to coordinate my appointment with, but they literally had such terrible availability (unless you don’t have a job and can come any weekday at 11am basically) that I had to schedule my appointment for August (I made this appointment in June.) So it is the day before my appointment in August (2 days before I leave for a 2 week vacation) and I call to double check my appointment since I haven’t heard anything from them. Oh, the nail technician quit so they had to cancel my appointment — didn’t I get their message? No I go no message! So now not only did I almost go all the way there, but now I have to scramble to get some other place to get me in since they couldn’t before my vacation. Now they only have a nail technician 3 days a week. So I call back finally today to try to schedule it again (last time they reassured me that they would honor my groupon whenever even though it expires in October because of all the scheduling difficulties). This time AGAIN availability is terrible and only caters to people who don’t work. So I try to schedule it in mid October and they say I can’t because the groupon expires — ahhhh! So I check my schedule and call back a half hour later to reschedule before my groupon expires and they tell me that the receptionist is taking lunch (this is 1:45) and can I call back in an hour?! Are you kidding me?! I haven’t even set foot in this place yet but I already won’t be back because of terrible customer service. Who knows if I will even get it scheduled anyway! I don’t even care if it ends up being the best nail place ever — I certainly won’t be recommending.
UPDATE: I finally got my groupon mani/​pedi scheduled for the last day my groupon was available. THEN, the day before my appointment they call any tell me the nail technician quit so they have to cancel my appointment — AGAIN! The receptionist told me I could have a facial instead to use my groupon so I booked one for the next day (even though I wasn’t happy since thats not the groupon I bought). I called back later that night just to confirm my time and the owner talked to me and told me no, the groupon wouldn’t cover my facial — only discount it $ 40. Well $ 40 is what I paid for the groupon, but the value of it was like $ 85!!! I was so appalled by this point. If I hadn’t called back they would have charged me for half a facial the next day! I explained all my troubles trying to use this groupon but the owner was basically like oh well, I don’t care, not my problem. He actually suggested I try to get my money back from groupon — which is what I did! Groupon was very helpful. But I would NEVER EVER go to this place — by far the worst customer service I have experienced and I never even set foot into the salon! DON’T GO HERE!

I received the most awesome mani/​pedi here. The technician was fabulous, and even understood why I cannot have my cuticles cut. Love this place and I will be headed back!

Anthony Fredericks is a clean, modern, full-​service salon. However, their greatest asset is the talent within. This is an upscale salon sans the pretense. The first time I set foot in this salon, I was immediately made to feel welcome. Everyone goes out of their way to pamper and please. Today, my facial from Brenda was such a pleasure. It completely dissolved the stress of my hectic morning. She takes the time to provide a relaxing service which achieves the best possible results. I always leave feeling as if I am valued and respected not just as a source of revenue but as a person they are truly committed to.

I had purchased my groupon for a mani/​pedi a while back and was overly excited to finally book my appointment for a visit today. Once I realized I would be unable to make my appointment @ 4p I called immediately and told them I would need to reschedule for a later date. The receptionist was very rude, before I could even finish my sentence and told me that I would not be able to reschedule and my groupon was now void because I did not give a 24-​hour notice of my cancellation. While this may or may not be true (being that it would have been a first time customer) it was NEVER STATED on the groupon that I would be unable to use it if I did not notify them 24 hours in advance my appointment would need to be canceled. The fine print states «Valid only for option purchased. Appointment required. New clients only. Not valid if services used in past 4 months. Exp Oct 3 2012.» NO WHERE DOES IS STATE THAT I LOSE MY GROUPON IF I DON’T CALL TO CANCEL IN ADVANCE. I told the receptionist this and she refused to listen… was very rude and said yes it is stated on the fine print. You guys should not give out groupon deals if you have no idea what the fine print says… what kind of wacky business is this. And terrible customer service. She should have researched the facts before ignoring the truth… LUCKY I GOT MY REFUND FROM GROUPON! BUT DUE TO THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I RECEIVED ON THE PHONE I WILL NEVER GO OR EVEN RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. There are wayy better salons OUT THERE than this one. You guys lost out on a potential repeat customer all over A VERY rude receptionist.

I loved this salon! I used the groupon deal and when I called I was able to get an appointment within the next 2 hours! I loved my haircut and plan to use the salon permanently. The girl washing my hair took extra time to massage my scalp (and everyone knows that’s the best part of getting your hair done!) my hairdresser was very nice and picked up on my personality and was able to give me a style that fit it perfectly. The other stylists were watching as I got my hair cut and asking my stylist question about her technique, it’s always good when you see stylists willing and wanting to learn. I would highly recommend this salon.

I bought a group on for a haircut at the salon, and they were able to schedule me that day (in that hour, actually).
All I can say is:
Great haircut (it was beautiful)
Great people (Anthony, the owner, cut my hair, and he was SO friendly and talked to me the entire time)
The entire place was spotless and well designed. The people were easy to talk to and extremely polite.
It was a fantastic haircut and experience. I plan on going again this weekend!

This morning I purchased a Groupon certificate for a haircut at Anthony Fredericks Salon & Day Spa. The salon agreed on very little notice to schedule as well a one-​process color. From the minute I checked-​in, staff were across the board extremely kind, upbeat and welcoming. Tony worked magic on my typically thick, frizzy & unmanageable hair. Thanks to his obvious skill and patience, I left looking and feeling fantastic! Call me a new customer. I can’t wait to return and explore the many other (reasonably priced) services Anthony Fredericks offers, and to see Tony!

The worst customer service ever! Bought a groupon and everytime I called to make an appointment the were booked out a few months and I was told someone would call me back. After no one calling me back multiple times I would call them back and still they could not get me an appointment and told me to call back after the holidays because they were booked up. It’s after the holidays, I called and they told me sorry that deal expired. Not even willing to honor it. BAD customer relations, rude staff and owner on the phone. Anthony Fredrick Salon = AWFUL!

The husband and wife team of this salon have always been wonderful to me whether at their other salon, Hairtronics in Hyde Park, or the Anthony Frederick location in Dedham. I have used both Kate and Anthony (the owner) for partial and full foils, updos and even color removal after a DIY mishap. My family uses them for massages, nails, pedicures, facials and waxings. We’ve never been anything but impressed.

We went to Anthony Fredericks with a groupon for a pedicure with hot stone massage and a shellac manicure ($ 50). The salon looks beautiful and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, for two people we were at the salon from 9:00am-1:45pm!!! On the phone we were told each person should allow 90 minutes, which would have been 9am-​noon. Though Judy, the nail technician, was very nice and personable, she was slow. She also only has a few shellac polish colors so one of us ended up doing a regular manicure, which really isn’t what we paid for. To top it off, at the end of my gel manicure she said «oh, I think I put the bottom coat on the top and the top coat on the bottom! oops.» Well, OOPS makes a difference. The nail polish started peeling off less than 12 hours later and was completely off my nails 3 days later. The whole point of a gel/​shellac manicure is that it’s supposed to last 2 weeks without chipping at all. I hate to give a bad review when this might have been a one-​time thing, but really… it was bad service.

I love this salon! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I love the set up, the style and it definitely feels clean. I go to Joanne for my hair, and she will spend as long as it takes to make sure its perfect, not because thats what I asked for, but because she is a perfectionist which i LOVE. (Having your hairstylist be a perfectionist is definitely a fabulous thing!) I also go to Nicole for waxing, she is awesome! She makes you feel completely comfortable and does an amazing job. Never have I left Anthony Fredrick’s without a smile on my face!

Joanne is great hairstylist — I go to her for highlights & haircuts and they always come out great. She pays attention to detail and will make sure that everything is perfect and that you are 100% happy before you leave. For special occasions, she does awesome updos. The salon itself is nice — chic décor but unpretentious people.

For a guy who’s sick of going to the barber and asking for a simple request. This place is the way to go, example, no more waiting for weeks for it to grow back wondering ‚“I didn’t ask for this“Five stars.
