History

Established in 1870.

Leonard Shwom is a third generation. Our family history dates back to 1870. Lenny’s father, Sid, bought Gopen Optical in 1958 from Cousin Stanley Gopen, where upon the business grew in Chinatown on Harrison. Lenny bought the business from his father in January 1988. In 2008, the office was moved to its current location in Dedham Square, next to the theatre. Adding Walter Potaznick, O. D, the office sports a full dispensary as well as comprehensive eye care services, including exams and eyewear!
