We walked in a few moments before close on a Saturday, and everyone was super-​friendly! We needed a mid-​afternoon snack, and choosing what to get was tough – the cookies, brownies, oatmeal bars, and cinnamon rolls all looked amazing. We ended up with oatmeal bars and chocolate chip cookies, and both were great. We also got to try the one-​bite cakes, which were awesome. If you’re in Decorah, you should definitely stop by Beyond the Bar!

This beautiful bakery opened today, Oct 10, 2014. We were lucky enough to be vacationing in Decorah and tried the red velvet cookies and cake bites. Very, very good! The two women who own the place are very enthusiastic and most kind (one a recovering lawyer, it seems… note the name of the place). The cake bites we sampled were very fresh and delicious: carrot, red velvet, coconut, peanut butter, double chocolate. There are several more too. Even on the the first day, there was brisk business… so, I’d say run to Beyond the Bar Bakery!
