I stayed here last night 12÷16÷15. My experience here was overall very positive. My room was well stocked with amenities including a microwave and mini-fridge. It’s a pet peeve of mine to stay at a hotel that has poor wi-fi connection, however this hotel let my nerves relax and I had no difficulty streaming or accessing content rapidly from their Wifi connection. The TV was a large flatscreen with a full cable package. My room was clean, spacious and met all my needs for the night. When I checked in I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the hotel offered not only a free breakfast but a free dinner as well. Tired and traveling on a budget I utilized both. When I was there the Dinner consisted of Rib Sandwich(similar to a McRib) Macaroni salad, Mixed salad, Potato Chips and lemonade. Nothing exceptional about it but It’s $ 10 I saved off my trip, and it was halfway decent so It was a big win for me. Keeping this place in my back pocket for next time.

Great hotel. Hot breakfast and dinner during the week and even fresh fruit and cookies for snacking on throughout the day. Hotel room was big. Bed was comfy. Nice view. Pool open till midnight. Staff was awesome. I would have given 5 stars except it is due for a renovation, toilet paper sucked and food was edible but not fantastic.

This hotel is conveniently located just off the Interstate 72 which runs north of Decatur. I arrived in from Chicago late on a Monday night, ended up arriving at 2am. I called ahead to let them know I’d check in late, and they were easy going and helpful on the phone. When I arrived Fred promptly checked me in, and made sure to extend my checkout time from 11am to 1pm for free, which let me get a good nights sleep. My room card stopped working after 11am but they were prompt and helpful with getting me in and out of the room so no worries. When I was downstairs watching tv after breakfast the phone would ring for a long time before someone picked up which was surprising considering how many staff I saw around and how few other guests there seemed to be, but whenever I needed something I didn’t have to wait. The suite was clean, well made up, and well equipped. I only stayed for one night so I didn’t need much, but everything was there. My room had a fridge, microwave, tv, phone, coffee, closet with iron, and a fully equipped bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. The suite and the rest of the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The free wifi was fast and easy to get on. There was laundry down the hall, a pool downstairs(hot tub was out of order). My only complaint about the room is that the fridge was loud so I turned if off before I went to bed. Complementary breakfast ended at 10am, and was decent for a buffet style breakfast. I got to breakfast around 9:30 and the eggs which had been out where pretty gross along with the sausage, but the fresh pancakes and bagels were good. Checkout quick and easy. Cons: loud in-suite mini fridge, card stopped working during late checkout period, no hot tub, complementary eggs and sausage were bad. Pros: lots of privacy, good customer service, affordable, clean suite, fast wifi, free late checkout, convenient location for passing through. Verdict: would recommend. Overall the experience was enjoyable, clean, and pain free. If you’re looking for an affordable place where you will have lots of privacy and easy access to amenities in the immediate area this hotel is a good choice.

I was glad to find this place! My room was larger than I expected and it was spotless. It also had the microwave/refrigerator/coffee maker requirements that make one’s stay a lot more comfortable and I was happy to watch TV on the flatscreen in my room. There was a free breakfast included in my stay; Breakfast at most hotels usually ends at 9am, but here they go till 10am, another perk, oh, and not just a continental breakfast but a buffet of scrambled eggs, sausage(bacon one morning!), biscuits and gravy, and even an automated pancake machine! This would have been enough to make me happy, but they also put food out Monday-Thursday from 5 – 7 pm for a sort of «Welcome dinner/Lobby Social»! One night, they had pork rib sandwiches(not tiny, either… there were big burly construction workers stopping at one!), salad and potato chips, the next night, a crock pot loaded with chili and sides of corn chips, onions, jalapenos, and salad. Coffee was available in the lobby 24/7, so if you got a coffee monkey on your back, you’re in luck. The staff really goes out of their way to make you happy as well: I showed up at 9:40, 20 minutes before the buffet was supposed to close and even though I was the only one there, employee in charge of the buffet surprised me by making an entire fresh pan of scrambled eggs with cheese just so I’d have fresh food! I would definitely stay here again!

We all are aware when a hotel changes from a chain to an independent you have a right to be wary of the quality. This Welcome Hotel and Suites was formerly a Wingate and I am happy to report there is no drop-off in quality. Wet bar and mini fridge, nice LG flat screen, great king size bed, super fast free wi-fi, excellent hot breakfast. Don’t know what else to say but that it was a great stay.
