In summer 2007, I enrolled to study abroad in Spain. In preparation for my long absence, I searched for pet sitter for my little ones — Señor Juniper (an over-​sized Chihuahua) and Luca Lupita (a spicy Miniature Pincher). I had three options: boarding (no), pet sitting (too costly on a then career-​student budget), or my parents’ home (bingo).

While in Europe, I considered the inevitability of one day hiring a pet sitter, and I knew just the kind of pet care provider Atlanta needed — one just like me! There, an ocean away, I developed a concept for a local pet service company driven by a «pulling for the little guys» sensibility: offer stellar care, real-​world rates, and genuine care and affection. When I returned from my trip in August 2007, I put the «walks with bleu» engine in motion.
