They are the best place, so comforting to me as a former owner of a pet. Was referred by Banfield hospital, and so happy to have had them take care of my cat for our family. They took such great care of our Po, when she came back to us, she was in a beautiful wooden box with beautiful poems, and some hair of hers which I never expected! That made us so happy! And we keep hearing from them, which after the loss of our cat, makes it so comforting because it’s almost like she’s still here, with all the interaction between us both so very happy! Great place! Would recommend and have recommended to anyone who loves their pets like us!

These are the words that come to my mind when I think back on the communication towards me and care given when my Cardigan Corgi, Mulligan arrived at Paws, Whiskers & Wags from GVS earlier this month. I lost my little boy on Friday, January 1. His death was completely unexpected. We are still not sure what took his life. I have ordered a pathology report. What I do know is that I had to leave town for two weeks two days after Mulligan died which caused me a lot of stress. I was in communication out of town during my business trip with Michael Harris. Michael is in one word, amazing. I had to wait until I returned to Atlanta to pick up Mulligan’s remains on Tuesday, January 19. I will never forget how soothing Michael’s voice was to me on the telephone or how kind he was to us when we arrived to bring Mulligan home. Thank you to everyone at Paws, Whiskers & Wags. Thank you.

I don’t even know if I can put into words how wonderful this place and people are. They called me to discuss arrangements after my heart left me on Christmas Eve. I was choked up and said I wished I could see her again. The lady said, «oh honey we can have a visitation.» I didn’t know what to expect, but they brought her out to me in a basket with a blanket tucked around her. Finna looked like herself, that was comforting beyond words. They crossed her sweet little feet and gave me all the time I needed with her. They didn’t charge me anything extra for this service and I cannot thank them enough for taking the time to place her like this for me, and allow me to grieve and talk to my baby. I needed this closure, badly. I even got a sweet hug and some reassurance about her care from a sweet gentleman there.
They have a nice variety of urns and lots of different services, all for a very affordable price. Don’t be afraid to ask for anything, they are very accommodating. I left some things with them to cremate with my beloved baby. I am grateful for a place that will guarantee the ashes I get back are my babies and not a mix. Even when I picked her up they were especially tender with me, and gave me hugs when they saw me and remembered me coming in. I will never forget this experience and I will recommend them to everyone I know in need after the loss of their pet.

I cannot speak highly enough of this pet crematory. When you lose a furry loved one, you are heartbroken and vulnerable. The staff at Paws, Whiskers, & Wags were nothing but kind, supportive, and professional. Did not feel pressured by purchase the extras. Received the ashes and lock of fur the same day that I dropped off my baby’s remains. Unlike many crematories that incinerate multiple pets together, this place does individual cremations with an ID tag so you know that the ashes you receive are your pet’s and only your pet’s ashes. While I sincerely hope to not have to return any time soon, if, God forbid, I experience the loss of a pet again, I would definitely turn to Paws, Whiskers, & Wags for the cremation.

We lost our rescued Belgian Tervuren Angel early Saturday morning after six wonderful years. We have never cremated a pet but we wanted to do something special for our Angel and we wanted to have a reminder of her that we could keep. My wife called before the office was open and spoke with Michael who told us we could bring her in right away. Once we got there we had decided that we had already said our goodbyes but the staff there treated us and Angel with such dignity. They placed Angel on a stretcher and covered her with a beautiful throw that had paw prints on it and placed her in a private room. We were encouraged to take as much time as we needed and they told us we could visit her again on Monday before the cremation. At no time were we ever pressured to purchase anything, they were truly concerned about our grief. If you are going to cremate a pet this is the only place you should go.

THE most professional pet service I have ever come in contact with. When our boxer passed suddenly in our arms, we had a necropsy performed in Athens at the UGA vet school. We were recommended to 5 different pet service companies and called them all. We had our last boxer cremated with PW&W in the past but was curious about the pricing and customer service of local companies in Athens. What a waste of time and big disappointment. PW&W were so incredibly personable and caring about the recent passing of our pet. They picked her up from Athens and cremated her in Decatur. I asked them to say a prayer for her soul before they cremated her and they did indeed. I thought it would be emotionally easier the second time around but I was wrong. What WAS easier was coming to a familiar, professional and caring company again. We opted for her paw print and apparently after a necropsy that is not an easy task. However, they did an amazing job — it came in a very nice leather book that has a space for her picture for displayed. From the first phone call to the kind postcard sent afterwards (notifying us that in remembrance of our sweet baby, a pet donation was made to a local animal charity), PW&W goes above and beyond on customer service. Who else does that? Seriously, if you haven’t noticed by all the 5-​stars for PW&W, don’t even think about having your loved one cremated anywhere else. I know when our 3^rd boxer passes, we will have her remains cremated with PW&W. We are forever grateful for such a genuine, compassionate business. Thank you from the bottom of our healing hearts.

It was hard saying goodbye to our dawghter yesterday but I’m glad she’s at peace now. She doesn’t have to suffer in pain anymore. I am so thankful I choose this place to cremate our baby girl.

When our bunny Woody passed suddenly, we knew we wanted to have him cremated. We called Paws, Whiskers and Wags and they were incredibly sweet and personable over the phone, and even offered a pickup service. We decided to bring him in ourselves, and we just can’t say enough great things about the staff. Tricia, especially, was so kind and warm while helping my wife and I through the difficult process. We would highly recommend Paws, Whiskers and Wags to anyone in need.

We lost our dog Mandy a month ago and Paws, Whiskers and Wags came to our home and picked up our precious friend. They carried her out in a nice wicker basket lined with a blanket. They took great care of her and consoled us in our hour of need. Mandy came home with us that same day, we got pawprints and a lock of her hair. Although a month has passed we still miss her and we are glad that the people at Paws were there for us. The people working here are genuinely compassionate and caring and deserve the greatest respect for dealing with grieving families.

My beloved cat, Callie, died en route to an emergency hospital that partners with Paws Whiskers & Wags. I worked with them by phone to finalize plans for Callie. I was genuinely struck by how compassionate and gentle everyone was. They gave me peace of mind that Callie was being handled with respect. And they went the extra mile and added some lovely touches to the memorial items I selected.

We said goodbye to our sweet, beloved black Labrador just 3 days ago. We knew we wanted to cremate him, and scatter his ashes up in the N. GA mountains. Paws, Whiskers & Wags was recommended to us by a friend who just went through the same thing. We called the Covington location a few days in advance to let them know we would be coming, and our timing. Directly after the vet appointment, my husband drove his body down there, wrapped in a blanket, and Stephanie was waiting for him. My husband was extremely impressed with the facility (very clean, nice) and the staff. Stephanie was very caring, sweet and comforting on this horribly sad and upsetting day. They completed their service within 2 hours. The paw print was not something either of us considered but we are so, so happy we have it! I immediately framed it, and have his collar wrapped around it now. This is a quality place with caring people running it. We highly recommend going this route after your loss, with Paws, Whiskers & Wags.

Unfortunately, our sweet 1.5 yr old cat suddenly had to be put down after his kidneys had finally shut down. This all came to us as an extreme surprise and we were devastated. Our vet mentioned private cremation from this company and were eager to have him cremated so we could have him forever.
From the first phone call from Paws, Whiskers, & Wags, I could tell that this experience was going to be the best it could possibly be. The person who called us to arrange the cremation had the softest, caring voice and genuinely was sympathetic. We decided to order a paw imprint of our baby and to keep a lock of his hair. The paw imprint is something I would recommend to every customer. They even put his name on the imprint with a heart!
When we were told we could pick up his ashes, we were seated in a lovely, spacious room while they gathered everything. It was an emotional experience, but the woman who presented his ashes was so kind and compassionate. Hopefully it won’t be anytime soon, but when the time comes again, we will definitely have Paws, Whiskers, & Wags take care of everything!

I used this company a few years ago when I lost a pet and they were great! However, I recently lost a very beloved old dog and sent his body to them for cremation. My plan was to scatter his ashes in the same stretch as my previous dog’s on the Appalachian Trail, where we hiked together as a family. At the time, my request for a paw print was comforting, as my daughter, a metal artist, was going to bronze it for me. The staff was comforting and compassionate.
However, when I received his ashes, they were in a container far too small for his size. This dog weighed 120 pounds. Lest you think I’m uninformed, I have previously researched cremation and know what is involved. Several sites for human and pet cremation estimate there is a bit less than 1 cubic inch of ash for each pound. The container his ashes are in is 4X4X5. 80 cubic inches. And it’s not full. If I got, say 100 cubic inches of ash, I could find a way to accept that. But 70 odd cubic inches of ash for a 120 pound dog? That’s almost half! The paw print is half the size of my dog’s foot.
In additional research, I found this company is not a certified crematory. I should have checked.
I called and was told someone would call me back. The gentleman who called me back was pleasant and kind but patronizing. He assured me those ARE my dog’s ashes and it is IMPOSSIBLE for there to be a mistake. There is no such thing as «impossible» when it comes to making mistakes. He wouldn’t even look into it. I am heartbroken. I do not believe these are my dogs remains and this is NOT my dog’s paw print. Now I have nothing left of him.
A week later, I had an additional conversation with a manager. She was professional and courteous, but again insisted, «it’s your baby.» I did NOT ask for a refund, but she offered and I took it. But, a refund is not what I wanted.
I’m sure this was not done intentionally, but that does not help my grief. The closure I needed will never come.
I would never recommend using this company again to anyone.

I rarely write reviews and this is the hardest one I have ever written. However, I want to extend my deepest thanks for Paws, Whiskers, & Wags for taking care of my furbaby. I always knew one day that the time would come and being a frequent customer of Dekalb Farmers Market, I would pass by thinking, «If I ever need to make arrangements, I will go there.» After 14 wonderful years with my companion kitty, that day came 09÷25÷13. Even though my heart wasn’t ready for this and I never experienced losing a pet before, I remembered where I could go.
I appreciate the person that picked him up from Briarcliff Animal Hospital. Thank you kind woman on the phone that confirmed he was there, made the arrangements and called me to confirm pick up. Whoever made the paw print and made the fur clipping, thank you so much because it means so much to me. For the staff that handled his remains with compassion, thank you and to the gentleman that gave me my buddy back, I appreciate you.
I didn’t interact long or much with the staff and I don’t remember your names, because the grief was all too much… but I really wanted to show my gratitude in making this process gentle.

These people are awesome for what they do, and so genuine and caring about it. I had heard stories about other similar businesses that put poems and prayers in with the ashes… etc, upsetting them at pick up. Not this place. They know how to get to the point without making you feel rushed. This was one of the hardest things I have ever been through (I suppose that makes me fortunate) and they took such good care of my dog’s arrangements, on time, and with such care that I could never thank them enough. I give them four paws up for being a really great business to deal with during a very rough time.

My precious cat died a week ago. It’s been a tough, surreal loss, and Paws, Whiskers and Wags has made the process so much easier. From their kindess and consideration to being affordable and efficient, I am so glad we went with them.
They let us drop off my beautiful pet at GVS overnight, with no charge, and they picked her up the next morning to be cremated. They put her remains in a beautiful container, and kept us aware of the process as it was happening. They also returned her to GVS because it was more convenient for us.
For a small fee, they made a plaster paw print with her name in a leather-​bound photo album. It’s very comforting. That being said, they did NOT try once to sell anything. Even when we asked about urns, they told us we could look at the website and see if we wanted something and get back to us, but there was no pressure at all.
I wouldn’t have known what to do without this place. From start to finish they were professional but kind, and they are very reasonably priced. We got handwritten cards in the mail from them when all was said and done. They seemed genuinely compassionate and extremely understanding of this tough time. I am so glad my beautiful Mocha was at their hands; I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else.
Hopefully it will be a LONG time before I ever have to use them again, but I do know where to go now.

I’ve never used this place but saw the car at the vet’s office today. The woman walked in with a nice basket that had a blanket inside, and quietly asked for a pet by name. The discretion, care and respect impressed me, especially since the pet’s owners weren’t present– if this is how they act when no one’s watching, they’ll one (sad) day have me as a customer.

We are so grateful to have had such a peaceful experience at Paws, Whiskers & Wags. We lost our little baby Sawyer this past Sunday. We made the decision to keep his ashes and were referred to PW&W by a close friend.
We asked if Sawyer’s sister could come in and be able to sniff him so that she could understand that he was not coming back and this way she would not wait on him (a vet suggested we should try this). Lisa said it was no problem at all. She put him in a little coffin with a nice little blanket covering his body. We were able to take our time, did not feel rushed, and were very well accommodating while we waited for the service to be performed.
Losing our little man was (and is) so painful… but we are so thankful for Lisa. She was so caring, sincere, loving and understanding. I couldn’t imagine having gone anywhere else. We felt that they loved Sawyer as much as we did and they cared for his body with such respect and dignity. All we can say is THANK YOU.

I cannot say enough good things about the integrity, compassion, and kindness of the folks at Paws, Whiskers, & Wags.
We lost two elderly pets within a couple months of each other, and both times the PW&W staff were incredibly patient as I called them and choked out my questions through the tears. They explained all the costs upfront without any hard sell, they arranged pickup of the bodies from our OTP vet with zero problems, they called us when they had custody of our babies, and they did everything exactly as we asked.
In addition, it was several months before I felt able to go and retrieve their remains, and PW&W were incredibly understanding about the delay, and comforted me as I cried when I saw the reality of our companions now being ash. I hope that with the adoption of some new shelter pets, we won’t need their services soon, but I wouldn’t go anywhere else, and recommend them highly.
