Talented Atlanta based Jazz /​Swing Band who pleases listeners of all ages. Consisting of Upright Double Bass, Drums, Guitar, Woodwinds (Flute, Sax) and Vocals «Jules & the Gents» perform «old school» 1920’s-60’s Swing, Big Band, New Orleans Jazz, Latin Jazz, Cool Jazz and more. Jules has been said to look a bit like Betty Paige with the voice of Peggy Lee. However her talent does not end there she is also a highly trained woodwindist that adds amazing melodic leads. Rhythm section Doug Rolf (Upright Bass) and Don Whitaker (Drums) have been playing together in multiple bands since the late 90’s and make a solid back bone for the well-​executed choice standards. Marc Baldwin (Guitarist) with a Masters in Music has a funky blues feel and gives amazing tap your toes solos.

Established in 2007.

Performing in Atlanta for over 6 years «Jules & the Gents» integrate jazz standards from the greats like Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Coltrane, Jobim, Benny Goodman more creating a superb musical mix allowing you to create the exact mood for events from large to small such as Oakhurst Jazz nights, Atlanta Zoo, corporate groups, weddings and private parties. Successful matches for «Jules & the Gents» are; Masquerade balls, Mardi Gras (w/​a rousing rendition of a Second Line upon request), Speakeasy, Great Gatsby style events, 1920’s theme, Golden Age themed, Swing dance, Funeral Dirge… or anyone looking for a traditional yet inspired jazz treat!

Julie Stein M.

Business Owner

Studying music since the age of six, Julie Stein has had her successful Atlanta based Jazz Quartet «Jules and the Gents» for more than 6 years. She is the lead vocalist, saxophonist and flautist for the group as well as it’s manager.

Previously performing with multiple successful groups as a band member, studying with top vocalist (Jan Smith studios) and jazz woodwintist (Berkley grad Bill Nitler) for several years combined with her unique talent for the genera and ability to lead a top level band they are a highly sought group that will add to any special occasion.
