Garden House Bed & Breakfast

One of the very best B&Bs I’ve ever stayed in. The lodgings are comfortable, the food is marvelous, and Doug and Rhoda are perfect hosts: caring, generous, and chatty without ever being overbearing. The screened-​in back porch is such a peaceful place for breakfast. The price is extremely reasonable, especially for those of us used to East & West Coast prices. Bonus: very, very child-​friendly, which a lot of B&Bs are not. Highly and happily recommended.

A fantastic place to stay. I’d never been to Decatur before, but I had to do research at Emory (which is only two miles away), and Garden House was convenient and inexpensive.
The Joyners are amazing hosts, very generous and thoughtful. They fix a huge breakfast for you every morning (tea or coffee, juice, fruit, a main dish like waffles or baked eggs or blintz cakes, and sometimes a muffin on the side). Your living space is the entire second floor (a big bedroom with a walk-​in closet, a full bathroom, and a sitting room with a TV), so you have plenty of privacy. And it’s likely you’ll be the only guests during your stay, which I really enjoyed.
And Decatur’s a great little city. The downtown is only a few blocks away, and the Joyners had plenty of great recommendations for places to eat.
