This is a great kept secret in Atlanta! They have unique antiques and I’ve picked up many over the years as presents for my mom. It’s a pretty cool place to stop by even if your not interested in buying anything.

Going to the blue moon shop, I must say that I’ve definitely enjoyed shopping there. But over the last few visits I’ve noticed that I’ve been followed around by the shop owner. Mind you, I’m a 20 year old female, college student that is a frequent shopper in downtown Decatur. Unfortunately, during my last visit I walked around the store and looked at some of the items on the shelf and the owner was just standing their looking at me. I glanced back a couple times and the owner was standing in front of the door way staring me down. I hate that this has happened and I definitely feel ashamed and upset about it. Overall, the store is a nice store with beautiful trinkets and items, but I am definitely giving this place a bad rating for shopping experience. Hopefully nobody else will ever have to experience what I have experienced.

This is one of my top favorite stores… the one I go to at the last minute for a gift or a unique item for my own home. I guarantee you’ll find something for everyone here, and it’s all in very good taste. But beware! It’s also one of those stores that consumes you to stay and browse for hours.

There are tons & tons of things in this little house, so much so if your not careful you will miss a cool little treasure. Decided to go in one Sunday after walking by this place at least a million times. I found a ton of little things to buy for my mother’s birthday, Christmas, etc & even a wind chime that I wouldn’t mind having for myself. If you like home accessories you will be in hog heaven but if you don’t and your SO drags you here you might be in for a long time shopping :-)

Set in an old Victorian house, Blue Moon has one of a kind pieces. The store is cramped and cluttered, but in a tasteful manner. Furniture pieces are all unique and some are on the pricey side, but you pay for what you get. Cute trinkets, hand painted step stools and kid benches, everything is truly unique. I will definitely be back the next time I revisit Atlanta/Decatur area.

A bunch of girlfriends got together last night to do Terrific Thursdays in downtown Decatur. We wandered in and out of the shops — I was looking for gifts for my inlaws. Terrific Thursdays really is terrific, by the way — most of the shops have 10−15% off their merchandise and they provide free wine and snacks. Blue Moon is super cute, if a little cramped. It’s in a gorgeous old house roughly across the street from Java Monkey, and it is crammed full of adorable gifty things. They have a lot of nice garden ornaments and home accessories. It’s a little old hippie-ish for my taste, but it’s a great place to find a unique gift for folks who don’t really have unique taste, if you know what I mean. I got my mother-in-law a neat wind chime that reminds me of tibetan singing bowls. We didn’t even make it upstairs, but there is, apparently, even more good stuff up there. So, if you’re still wondering what to get your mother-in-law for Christmahannukwanstice, Blue Moon is a good bet.
