Atlanta Lenox Taxi

I foolishly forgot what day it was when I had to get to work this morning, and hence forgot to set an alarm. I woke up 12 minutes before I needed to get there and MARTA wasn’t really an option, both convenience and time wise. I couldn’t find a taxi service in Decatur besides this on Unilocal and so I requested a cab. They said they’d be between 15 – 30 minutes. 25 minutes later they called to say they couldn’t find my address. Finally, and hour later, their driver calls to say he’ll be 8 – 10 minutes. He called again to say he couldn’t find it and when I told him I was in the gated apartment complex he said he knew that complex and arrived a minute later. I had told this info to the lady on the phone who apparently didn’t relay the message. He alsp didn’t know the gate code, which I also told the lady about.
Long story short, I’m even more late now than I would have been with MARTA. Oh and the cab stinks. Never again.

Had a cab called from Country Inns & Suites in Buckhead. After about 30 minutes, they didn’t arrive. I asked the lady at the front desk to call them again, and the answer she got was «10 minutes». 15 minutes later, I asked her to call again; the answer, again, was «10 minutes». After another few minutes, she called again, and the answer was, «they never sent a cab».

In the past Lenox taxi was the best out there. They arrived the fastest consistently.
HOWEVER, my last experience is like so many other reviewers before me. We got out to ground transportation at the airport and were directed to the next taxi in line. When we got to our house we are told the credit card machine isn’t working. Never heard that one before-​NOT. Turns out he never turned it on. It worked just fine after we insisted we had no cash. Surprise, surprise. This is getting old and I’m over it. They pull this crap all the time. Some people have to charge the ride on credit card or their company won’t reimburse them. The taxi company wonders why people prefer Über. I don’t know, they arrive super fast and the payment is easy peasy via credit card. Please contact your local rep and tell them to allow Über to continue to operate in Atlanta!

Credit card pay broken, receipt machine broken, and then because he could, overcharged.

I used Lenox taxi company twice.
–they do not take credit card, always have enough cash+ tips handy.
–they do not arrive on time. Both times the driver arrived 20mins late. However they do call me and said they were late. Friendly drivers but I was looking for punctuality.

Scheduled a cab to pick me up at my apartment at 5:45AM on a Saturday morning to take me to the airport. Cab driver arrived at 5:37AM and called to let me know he was ready when I was. I came out at 5:45 and he was still ready and waiting for me. Got me to the airport quickly and safely and everything worked out perfectly. Charged it to my credit card without grief and hassle. All was terrific!

I have taken Atlanta Lenox Taxi Co twice — once with a colleague after dinner. The driver was courteous and pretty much knew what he was doing — plus he had his own GPS system.
I just took it this morning to the airport. One of my friends told me she once called a taxi to go to the airport, it never came, and she has never used taxis in Atlanta since. I was nervous, but I don’t have a car so I need to use taxis! I called Atlanta Lenox the night before my flight, made arrangements, and when I came outside my apartment building, the taxi was there! Waiting! 8 minutes early!
He even took my credit card. I always add extra $ on the tip because taxi drivers have to pay exorbitant fees for credit card transactions. The ride was fast, quiet, and the cab was clean and smelled fine. Overall a great experience.

Overall, I have had good, prompt service with Atlanta Lenox Taxi. They tend to have clean cars and most drivers seem to know where they are going.
As with any taxi company, they can make you wait too long. Welcome to Atlanta on that one! Their coverage of the Midtown and Buckhead area is quite good, however.

This might be one of the most confusing reviews I have chosen to write. This cab company both infuriates me and I feel sorry for them at the same time.
I do not drink and drive. I love food, restaurants, and the whole package so I tend to give up the extra dough and flag a cab in lieu of the extraordinary expense and suffering of a DUI that many of my friends have had to experience.
Atlanta Lenox Taxi is terrible. They have told me dozens of times that they use credit cards but every single time I ride somewhere it’s nearly a fight. The drivers tend to act like each of them have never heard of a credit card. It could be true! Just about every cab driver I have had from this company is different, do not know the downtown area or roads, do not carry, or know how to operate or follow a GPS that I NOW CARRY WHEN I MUST USE THEM!!!

One driver recently broke it down for me though. He said that the taxi company themselves charge each of the drivers 20% on every credit card charge. I suggested that if credit cards are such a problem post a credit card surcharge. That blew his mind. It took me 20 minutes to get home that night. It was only 3 miles.
