A Yelpy Imax Experience At the Henry Ford!

While this isn’t my first IMAX experience, it was my first one in Michigan. Nothing more than what I’ve experienced, to be honest, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. The theater was fairly large, and the screen was definitely wide enough for a complete view of the scenes.
The quality was amazing! The details in the butterfly was more than I would have imagined. And the 3D? Great! The glasses were pretty cool. Not those flimsy dorky/​kiddy ones you had as a kid, either. They were real… real good.
Appetizers were great, but the ham was really salty! Loved the beef. And the bottomless wine (which by the way, made the 3D movie experience SO much better!). Popcorn was a nice treat too. :)
I had fun so much, and am looking forward to the next one that would fit my schedule!

Who would have ever thought that butterflies could be so interesting lol. This was a very cool night. It was my first time at the IMAX theater at The Henry Ford. The 3D was so cool. It looked like the butterflies were flying right into you. Bundle this in with good food and a couple drinks, what a great night. Even met some new friends in Shanita and Bob.

I’m a little bitter cuz I couldn’t find this on my phone when I was there :(So I would knock it down to 4 stars just cuz I’m bitter but why ruin the great 5 star rating? Plus it really was a top rate 5 star experience! I would give it 6 if I won the butterfly suitcase. And if it was possible!
The system they had going for us to sign in was pretty efficient. There was a small line when I got there but all fine. And the bag was certainly a statement piece for us to chitter chatter about.
It was nice to see a larger event where I recognized some people, those I had eaten with, drank with, and salsa’d with…
The film was great. I enjoyed the butterflies and it was all I could do to not reach out and grab them, although the people right in front of me did, I don’t see now why I didn’t. Lol.
As everyone else has said, the refreshments were superb. I was especially appreciative of the grilled veggies. The variety was excellent.
I hope Henry Ford Imax Theater had a good experience with us Unilocalers and invites us back!

Great event and theater staff was wonderful as well.
The food provided was great and when the movies started; they allowed you to take it inside the theater. I haven’t been for a while and I’m glad I was able to come back to attend — I love the 3-​D feature.

Movienight with the fellow Unilocalketeers. what is not to love?! Right off the bat I was excited to attend the event because we could bring our (step) daughter, and well. there were butterflies! — duh!
Check-​in was convenient and quick, and the raffle for that amazing suitcase was a cool touch. However, all four in my party forgot to sign up. Boo!
I was happily surprised with the spread, whomever (the Henry Ford?) arranged and/​or provided this: thank you. Grilled vegetables, fresh fruit and cheeses were a light and classy choice inside the beautiful venue. Did anyone else look up to the ceiling and around? Very nice.
Though I’ve done the ‘Rouge thing’, I have not seen much more around the area. I also had never been to an Imax theatre. First impression: massive screen! Second impression: headache and nausea. I think I am not very well-​suited for 3D movies, but once the initial nausea subsided I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

GREAT REFRESHMENTS! :) The plethora of cheeses (there was yummy brie!), crackers, bread, fruit, roasted vegetables (LOVE the eggplant!), and smoked meats was great! I was honestly surprised at the offerings, and the setup made it easy for people to grab from either side of the table. Good selection in alcohol (Husband commented), coffee, and tea. However, the lady who took our drink orders at the bar didn’t have that great of an attitude, even in spite of our generous tip.
Movie was pretty good, and the visuals were really something. Great gesture for giving each person their own box of popcorn that wasn’t too salty! I found it so cute that the kiddos in the theater were grabbing the open air. :) Colors were pretty vivid, but the story could have been a bit more scientific and less narrative. Just my personal preference.
This was my first time seeing IMAX at the Henry Ford. They weren’t joking when they said the theater is the biggest IMAX in all of Michigan, but what’s up with the seats? Definitely need a bit of a makeover, as the plastic housing and fabric upholstery were showing signs of aging.
Regardless, we had a fun time and would come back again. Thanks again Ms. Annette and the staff at Henry Ford for organizing this event. :)

Annette throws another great party! Lisa M., Jerry M., K, N, and I headed over here Tuesday night for Flight of The Butterfly. There was a very generous spread of fruit, veggies, meats, cheeses and more. The bar was offering beer, wine, soda, and juice. Jan was rather unpleasant which was disappointing since we tipped her nicely. I was impressed with the beer selection which is rare at events with an open bar. The selection was so good I didn’t even peruse the wine list.
After deliciousness we headed to the theater where we were handed a box of popcorn and our glasses. This is where the event loses a little steam: the man introducing the film spoke for way too long and should have had bullet points. Oy.
The film was great and after there were a few drawings.
This was a very nice event that was low key and family-​friendly.

Had a wonderful time. The movie was really beautiful and kept my interest throughout. The refreshments were delicious and the staff was really friendly.

I was so happy to have a family-​friendly event that we could take the kiddo to.
The hors d’œuvres were really fantastic. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and kept everything stocked. Special props to the manager for helping me with an *ahem* situation we had with another guest.
The movie was amazing! We will definitely be back to see other 3-​D movies.

This IMAX movie was fascinating and very educational. I learned so much as I watched the film and the 3D effects were wonderful. The tasty appetizers were wonderful as well. The fresh fruit and cheese tray with brie were my favorites. I will definitely be taking people to see a film at the IMAX theatre in the near future because it was a great experience. It was great to have a family friendly event that left the whole family happy and smiling as we finished the movie. Thanks!

The IMAX theater was great. The movie was excellent.
The Henry Ford staff treated us like royalty with great appetizers, wine, beer, and other refreshments. I’m not used to have the staff constantly picking up plates and empty bottles. Truly a first class operation.
I’d never expect that I would enjoy a movie like «Flight of the Butterflies», but I did. It was a well told story with phenomenal visuals.

The IMAX movie was great! I have never been to an IMAX movie, so this was new to me. The Henry Ford has an awesome theater. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The food was an array of light bites that were beautifully arranged. Thankfully my diet called for grilled veggies and The Henry Ford delivered. Tonight definitely has me hooked on IMAX movies and going back. Who knew that butterflies were so interesting. The 3D effects had me feeling as if I was in the forest with them. Two thumbs up to Annette J. for coordinating this event and to Wally for snagging the oh so cool butterfly luggage in the raffle.
