Hyatt Place Daytona Beach – Oceanfront

Great layout with the living area, clean, modern and good quality. Great view too. Sincerely helpful reception.
It’s not a full service hotel, but a smooth operation, that is very functional.

My second Hyatt place, will look for them in the future.

After another hotel oversold their rooms and canceled our guaranteed reservation at 11:15pm, we were left visiting hotels up and down Atlantic Ave. to find availability. I’m so glad that the Hyatt Place had a last-​minute cancellation and could accommodate us. The rooms are clean, the staff is incredibly friendly and the ocean views are nice. I docked a star because the line for breakfast was abnormally long. (We ended up just eating at the Cracked Egg down the street. Yum.) Would highly recommend staying here. We’ll be back again.

This is a really great hotel. It seems very new and well kept. The rooms were very clean and well appointed and even though our room was on the side of the building we still had a great view.
The only problem we had was that they did accidentally charge us twice, but they were nice and helpful in getting that fixed.

This hotel is in a really good location and my room had a beautiful view with a balcony that was large enough for several people to go out on. My room was extremely clean and the sound proofing was good. I was here on a hot Saturday in June when the hotel was most likely at maximum capacity. The parking lot is not adequate for the amount of guests when the hotel is full, but once you park there are restaurants that are easy to walk to, so you might not need to move your car often. There is free WIFI and a free simple breakfast. On the morning we were there, the breakfast area was crowded, and we ended up eating out in the heat, there was not sufficient seats to accommodate a full hotel. The staff was nice enough, they were clearly working at full capacity. The two ladies that ran the front desk were also making drinks, selling food, and answering the phones, I was amazed at how efficient they were.
The pool area was clean but it is not monitored by the hotel staff. On my stay I saw over seven different people all drinking beer out of glass bottles by the side of the pool and while standing in the pool. These people were not together with one group, they were scattered all over the pool area. I find glass in the pool area to be a serious safety issue. Also there were signs posted that stated the pool area was a no smoking area but there were people freely smoking around the pool. When a staff member came to the pool area to empty the trash bins they saw all of the above and did nothing about it. I was fortunate in that I was not injured by any broken glass but all of the bottles in, and around the pool, did not make for a relaxing swim.
The beach in front of this hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and quiet, and if you do not want to swim in the pool this might be a great place to stay.

I just don’t consider a trip to Daytona Beach something to look forward to. I do it for work, but now with this Hyatt on the beachfront, I just may consider a weekend away for pleasure.
This Hyatt place is in Daytona Beach Shores, so it’s away from all the rift raft. When staying near the pier, I find myself walking the beach with pepper spray as I am always accosted by someone wanting money, cigarettes, or to sell me a timeshare.
Talk about a buzzkill.
This end is serene. The hotel is clean, modern, and super friendly. Wonderful views of the ocean with balconies offering sliding doors. Just having the open doors while listening to the waves is worth it.
Although I like the shower design, the shower pressure could be a little stronger. Be careful with the shower sliding doors too– I pinched my finger between the two doors and got a nasty, bloody cut as a result.
The pool and hot tub are clean and enjoyable. Both are also wheelchair accessible which I love – everyone should be able to enjoy the water.
If you decide to walk the beach, please carefully remember where Hyatt place is located. There is no sign facing the beach, so my intended 15 minute beach walk turned into over 70 minutes because I couldn’t recognize the hotel from the beach.
Everyone is super friendly and professional here. I’m super choosy with food and managed to find something at breakfast. I especially enjoyed the hummus trio.

Spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Staff and management went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable; the breakfast was very good with lots of choices; the room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the pool and the ocean and the facilities overall were very well maintained! A special thank you to Nicole and Chad, whose professionalism and dedication to detail should earn them a raise!
If we return to Daytona, I will be staying here, without question!

It is great hotel in the Hyatt Place tradition. Everything is clean! Nice design lay out. We had the 2 queen room and the sofa also pulls out into a bed. We had a balcony which gave us a great view from the 6^th floor of both the ocean & inter coastal. Starbucks on site ²⁴⁄₇!

Pros — The location is great. It’s on the non-​party end of Daytona. (So, you will need a car to get to the Boardwalk). My room was very clean and comfortable. The hot tub is warm and spacious. The pool was very nice. I could easily walk to four restaurants and the grocery store. Breakfast was similar to an Embassy Suites — not amazing, but nice to have free breakfast. I could print out my boarding passes in the computer room. It’s nice to walk out onto the beach every morning.
Cons — A microwave would have been nice in the room. The hair dryer didn’t work. I learned the first day that if you don’t get up by 7:00 a.m., you will not get a chair by the pool. It seemed like they needed more staff, the same girl checked me in, served breakfast and worked the bar. She seemed frazzled. The Gallery menu is nice, but it always took at least 30 minutes to get food, so I stopped ordering off of it. The A.M. skillet sandwiches they advertise were only served every 3 days.
All in all, I had a great vacation with a few bumps along the way.

In all the hotel is good, clean, specious, nice location!
however what I didn’t like :
The Cleaning staff was kinda of rude !! When I asked to have her come later she looked at me like «how dear u» !!
Although our room was at the end of the hall, we can hear a lot of noise, door slamming ! So annoying specially when you have kids and it’s bed time !!
Parking is another issue !! Not enough space !!

I was so pleased to stay at this hotel on my last business trip. Who doesn’t love waking up to the smooth sounds of the waves crashing on to the beach?!?
Every room has a view of the ocean with a private balcony. Some have direct views on the beach and the others are at an angle.
Parking, continental breakfast, and wifi included. Parking was a cinch, either right in front of the hotel or behind it.
The atmosphere is modern and clean. The check in process was a breeze. The rooms were spacious, large flat screen tv and sitting area. Beds were comfy!
Their prices are very, very reasonable. I imagine during spring breaks and race weeks it gets much higher, but luckily I went on a quiet week. I will definitely return when I am back in town.
I’m trying to think of anything to say that they could improve upon. Hmmmm. I will update if I can think of anything.

It is so worth the extra money!!! Nice modern rooms and the balconies looking out to the ocean are very private. The complimentary breakfast was a nice buffet with everything you could want. They even serve small pastries and Starbucks drinks ²⁴⁄₇. (A bit pricy but expected) Great staff and great quality. This is our go to hotel in Daytona.

Let’s face it… Daytona is a run down, tired «has been» of a town that saw its peak 25 years ago when Mtv used to film spring break here. The restaurants are bad, the hotels are tacky, Atlantic Ave is typical Florida white trash.
One shining star in this endless road of disparity is the Hyatt Place. Located a little off the «center» of the action, it’s still close enough to smell the fried fish and Bud Light of the boardwalk. The hotel is small, but packs a punch for the price. Modern, clean and looking new. They offer free parking, free hot breakfast, free «fast» wifi and the rooms are bigger than expected. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful at check in. They recognized the Hyatt Diamond Status and upgraded us to an oceanfront room. They all have balconies overlooking famous Daytona Beach where we spotted dolphins swimming near the shore and had a beautiful sunrise view.
I don’t plan to be in Daytona again and time in the next decade, but if I find myself there, I wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel.

Nice, clean and decent hotel in a city filled with dumps and tourist trap/​white trash hotels. We enjoyed our stay and found the staff very pleasant and courteous. If you must stay in Daytona, recommend this place for sure!

Excellent locations. Daytona Beach Shores was beautiful. The pool was nice — nothing fancy. There is a nice bridge over to the beach — which was absolutely beautiful.
Rooms — I was disappointed with our room. We had a partial ocean view — which was ok. But our room was directly across from the elevator landing and it was LOUD. We heard the elevator each time it «dinged» and every, single thing that was said by anyone who was waiting for the elevator. Not a good location for a room. Even though I made my reservations 4 months in advance and requested a room close to the stairs and far away from the elevators — this is what I got.
Also — there was a large lampshade and a partition that was directly in front of the air vent in the room. So the couch part of the room was freezing cold, but the part where the beds were, was sticky humid.
Parking — Tight and not much of it. Parking in front was extremely tight (though I do drive a truck) and there weren’t that many spaces. Definitely not enough if the hotel was at capacity. There is a parking lot in the back, but there is no way to enter the hotel from the back (unless you jump the fence — which is difficult to do with all your luggage). Otherwise, you have to haul all your stuff around to the front of the hotel.
Elevators — There are only two elevators and they are super slow AND sometimes the elevators just skipped our floor all together. The button light would go off, like it stopped, but the elevator didn’t stop. So we had to wait extra long and hold the button down to get the elevator to stop.
I usually choose Hyatt hotels — but I wouldn’t choose this one again.

I was pretty disappointed that the rooms were kind of small but I really loved that it was so clean. The managers and everyone at the front desk were really nice as well. The breakfast is pretty good though. They change the breakfast menu slightly every other morning, which is great! …it just sucks that we couldn’t get sausage and grits on the same morning???

My wife and I typically stay at SPG properties when traveling. However, we decided to try a Hyatt Place as a stopover on our road trip to Key West from Philly. We are so glad we found this diamond in the surf.
General Observations:
1.) Recently renovated and it certainly shows; very impressive
2.) Room 707 great full ocean view room. (most rooms appeared to be either full or partial ocean.)
3.) Very clean & very comfortable room
4.) Friendly & accommodating staff
5.) ²⁴⁄₇ Gallery menu was much better than expected. The cheeseburger & the ham & swiss sandwich on pretzel roll were great.
6.) Included hotel breakfast included taste!!! Hot options: eggs, sausage, french toast, biscuits w/​sausage gravy. Plus standard continental fare.
7.) Dog Friendly (for a fee) with a dedicated area outside for pets
Three small hiccups that held back a 5-​star review:
1.) Front Desk Staff Forgot to Place Food Order
My wife had asked about the ²⁴⁄₇ Gallery menu during checkin (as we had been driving 10 hours and we were hungry). Told food typically takes 10 – 20 minutes. Called order in from the room then went down to pick it up 15 minutes later only to find out that the front desk forgot to put in the order. When we finally got our order one sandwich had not been warmed up… not a huge deal, but kind of a bummer of a start of our stay.
2.) No Carts Available During Check In
This was extremely frustrating since we had a large amount of luggage. The staff commented that they thought guests were keeping them in their rooms. Why not establish some type of deposit system, like an ID or room # when taking out a cart???
3.) Power Outage
The power went out on one side of the room… and we didn’t realize it until we were packing to leave and noticed the stuff we had put in the fridge was a little warm. We told the desk staff during check out but they said they didn’t know where the breaker box was.
NOTE: Ice machine hours 8am — 9pm. Nice if your room is nearby, not nice if you need some ice for your cooler and are leaving before 8am. The front desk can help you if you need ice outside these times.
Overall an excellent stay in an amazing location. The beach was just beautiful and the hotel was immaculate. This stay along with previous Hyatt brand experiences (ie Hyatt Regency) is certainly testing our loyalty to SPG.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean and spacious, the balcony gave a good view of the beach and waves despite my room being closest to the road. The breakfast was tasty and the variety was nice. This hotel might be a diamond in the rough for Daytona.

I hit the jackpot at this hotel! End, top floor room on the corner. It was very clean, very quiet, which is very important to me!!! No kids screaming down the halls!
The staff was friendly, the rate good, I almost forgot what city I was in. I will be back!

Nice basic accommodations. Brand new, very modern and clean. They do not have balcony chairs yet and supposedly won’t have them until February so we brought our own. A bit disappointed with the «direct ocean view» as the rooms overlook a parking lot which is on the beach side. The real downside was the breakfast, absolutely horrible, we ended up eating elsewhere both mornings. Otherwise the staff are lovely, everyone was very friendly with big smiles, that was a plus!
