Skateworld of Kettering

This place was really fun. I took my kids and they had a blast. The food was great, the food staff could be a bit friendlier, but they weren’t nasty. The prize guy was amazing, patient, and very kind. The skates after extremely cheap though. The stoppers were not placed right in my skates. The took seemed to be very dry as well. Reminded me of when I used to skate on blacktop. Overall, though your family will have a fun time. Oh and you may want to request more up to date songs.

If you have another option, take it. This place was quite expensive for what it was and about the worst operated rink I’ve been to in a long time. It’s not Castle Skateland, for sure.
The music was good, the lighting effects were cool, the bathrooms were not bad, and the rink is plenty big. Those are about the only good things I can say.
We waited for 10 minutes just to buy tickets with no line! We assumed it must have been super busy inside, but that was not the case. The teens running the place were just sitting in the office doing nothing and couldn’t see us from where they were. This was the same case when it was time to get our skates. After waiting about 10 minutes, I had to go up front and ask for help (which is where the kid was who was supposed to be running skate rental. he was too busy hanging out with his buddy to man his station).
The rink itself was super dangerous because there was no rink monitor and it was a free-​for-​all. The rink was full of kindergartners with tiny, wheeled walkers. These mini-​retirees-​in-​training were unsupervised by both their parents and the staff. They were skating in any and every imaginable direction making for a very dangerous experience for everyone on the rink (especially themselves) and more falls and injuries than you can imagine. Getting around them without falling was very difficult because they were everywhere and there was no way to predict where they were heading. Considering that I counted at least 5 teens staff members who were mostly paid to just hang around their assigned area (none of which were busy) there was no excuse for this. None. Frequent announcements were made over the speakers, but they were difficult to hear and no one was paying attention, anyway. There needs to be a rink monitor, in skates, on the rink, the entire time people are trying to skate. The management of this organization needs some serious improvement.
Will not be back.

Nice family atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable. My son loves the place and the employees treat him great.

Good music, fun. Not nearly enough seating. If you are a parent there is a good chance you will have to stand the whole time your children are skating.
