Great service and the best sweet tea ever! The buffet is always fresh and inviting.

Great value for the price. Friendly service. I was working in the area & used Unilocal to find this gem. All of the food was pretty good. I had the Buffet & had plenty of options to choose from. I would definitely come back if in the area again.

It’s rare that a barbecue sandwich is good enough to require a review, but this one was. Don’t let the eclectic menu scare you away, the brisket is great! They pile it high too!

Home style buffet with mash potatoes and chicken fried steak with cream and brown gravy. Fresh fried catfish and pulled pork with home made BBQ sauce. With a salad bar also, this place is excellent country home cooking.

This restaurant was great! We were looking for some hometown cooking to experience the food here in Texas and it was all homemade. The catfish was awesome, beans and rice, cole slaw, pies. The service the best – Anita treated us with such kindness and care. She was a sweetheart! And it was so reasonably priced!

Stopped here for a late lunch and I enjoyed their buffet. Mashed potatoes with gravy, cornbread, penne pasta with ground beef and tomatoes, pickled okra and pickled tomatoes. Their fried fish is breaded, the fish is flaky while the breading stays on the fish. Delicious!

When I was still in High School I ate here at least once a week. I get the Chicken Fried Chicken and a salad. The servers are all sweet southern women and the place is a rustic small town feel. They recently expanded to more seating. The sweet tea is good and they always have a buffet option. Their breakfast buffet is really good. Their salad is a create your own«Salad boat» I say salad boat because the salad bar is in a wooden boat looking set up very cute. I’ve tried a lot of stuff from the menu all good mostly meats and fried stuff. Very southern. Pretty good. They also have a Blue Bell area. Yym! The owner can be a real piece of work but his wife is a doll. They’re always there, working. He would make me fried pickles even though they weren’t on the menu just because I was a regular.

Great food and great service from Skylar I hope that’s how she spells her name if not I’m sorry!!! My wife and I drive there from Channelview to Dayton to eat there. The only problem I have encountered was when we sat on the other side that Skylar was not waiting on. The other waitress’s service was bad I had the all you can eat BBQ ribs and she only came to our table once. Other than that the food is great!!!

I have eaten here 3 times. It is not impressive, a country buffet style restaurant. I have ordered all three times a baked potato and only once was it ‘warm’ enough to melt the butter. There are better places to eat in to area and if you really want BBQ you should drive less than a mile away to Pappy’s where their baked potatoes have always been hot.

Great place with great food at a low price. Good ol’ country style cooking and the prices can’t be beat, especially for the buffet. Love the southern hospitality here and the owner likes to go from table to table checking in with customers to see how they are doing.

No complaints at all!!! My kids and I checked this place out last night and my son told me he couldn’t wait to go back before he went to bed. My son is picky as heck when it comes to eating at restaurants, so I had to ask him to repeat himself just to make sure. From the staff to the other patrons, everyone is so friendly. It’s family-friendly, so my kids can be loud like they normally are without anyone giving me the good ol’ «Can you calm your children down» look. I think I tried everything on the buffet and it was yummy. If I didn’t eat it, my daughter did. Buffets make me nervous because I always wonder how long food sits there before it gets rotated, but I watched them constantly bring fresh food out while we were there. My son wasn’t a huge fan of the buffet, so I ordered him a cheeseburger and he scarfed it down so quickly that you would have thought I had never fed my child before that exact moment. Being the fatty I am, I tasted it and realized why he ate it so quickly. I tried the pecan pie after my 47th round at the buffet and man oh mannnnn… To die for!!! After I ate that piece of pie, I felt like my soul had drifted away from me and gone to Heaven. Yes, it was that good. I had someone nearby tell me the German chocolate pecan pie is even better. As soon as she told me that, I started planning our next trip. Right next to the cashier, there’s a little ice cream stand. Of course I couldn’t deny my babies the privilege of topping their meals off with Blue Bell, so I got them some ice cream cones to eat on the way home. We left stuffed and happy and will definitely be regulars from now on.

Read good reviews from other internet sites, decided to try this restaurant of all restaurants in Liberty n Dayton. It’s located behind McDonald’s, but entrance on other side. Sign in window shows all-you-can-eat BBQ on Saturdays. Walk inside, and its a treat to look at the numerous posters n signs, many look like real antiques, peanut shells on the floor, and the neat buffets. One buffet is of a boat, for salads, with a tackle box in the bow. The other buffet is of entrees. Great staff there, all friendly and smiling and putting fresh food in the buffet trays. Mike, himself, was there, and his wife, who makes all the pies except for the pecan pies. We think many of his staff are of family. Tables each had basket of peanuts in the shell, a paper towel roll on a Texas-shaped base, and condiments, including their terrific BBQ sauce. We each had the salad boat n buffet for $ 9 each. Main entrees on buffet were battered catfish, delicious w their great tartar sauce, country fried steak, n battered pork. I had seconds on the fish n pork, after taking off the breading. Mashed potatoes were reconstituted, not good. Green beans not good. All else great. The salad boat had a nice selection. Diners next to us had meals, and they looked very delicious. Seems like diners have been eating there for years and years. Everyone in diner friendly, and all like one big happy family. The homemade pie selection was coconut, chocolate, buttermilk, peach cobbler, and another one, all made by Valerie, Mike’s wife. They looked spectacular. The pecan pie was the only one not made by Valerie. Service was excellent. We ordered a coconut pie to go. But it looked so delicious, I started in on it before we left the table, and ate about half of it, even tho I didn’t think I could fit another bite into my stomach. Even the meringue had toasted coconut in it. It was THE best pie I can remember ever having! I dream of having another piece again. Maybe I can have one shipped to me. Huh… I’m gonna check on that! Price adds up fast… Two buffets, two drinks, one dessert came to $ 28, plus tax n tips. I would certainly eat there again. and again. and again with an order to go! By the time we left, about six o’clock, the place was half full.

Oh man. Stop the car! This place is fantastic. Found it on accident and so glad I did. Got the buffet for $ 7.95 or so an pigged out on perfectly moist catfish, killer chicken and sausage gumbo, spicy greens, buttery green beans, and crisp fried okra from the hot bar. Don’t miss the cole slaw and delish corn relish on the cold bar next to the homemade banana pudding complete with nilla wafers. Sure I just gained 5 pounds, but I’m pretty sure my happy stomach doesn’t care. Very clean. Take out, too! I didn’t try the pies, but I’m regretting it. They were beautiful. Rumor is that they do bar-b-que as well. And I know I’ll be back for baby back rib buffet time. 100% yes!
