Great service and fresh ingredients make this a top Mexican place in the area. Prices are fair and not inflated. Try the Burrito Deluxe and the shredded Chicken Nachos ! Fresh cheese and cilantro make the difference in taste.

Gross food. Gross salsa. They use canned shredded chicken and it leaves a pool of chicken water on your plate. First time visiting and the last time, that’s for sure.

I never base a book by its cover so when ya pull up don’t be turned away that it’s in a shopping center in north Dayton. Some of the best restaurants are the ones you never expect which makes them such hidden gems. The inside is extremely nice, new, and clean. I sat at the bar to watch college basketball on their 3 beautiful curved TV’s but all the booths and tables you could tell were brand new and clean. They put some serious money into the interior before they opened up and it’s truly fantastic for a Mexican restaurant that isn’t some huge chain. Kudos there. The food was right on the level of the interior and the portions were massive. I ordered a 10 dollar Acapulco Special that I easily will get another meal, if not two, out of. The marg was good but they are good at any Mexican place. Hard to suck there. The service was attentive and the food was out before we could blink. Very impressive. We will definitely be back. Many people refered us here and weren’t wrong. Worth checking out for sure and remember… the portions are HUGE. Very friendly staff, great for families.

We had a party of 16, on a Friday night, at 7:00p. We’re crazy for attempting such a fest, but our server Nestor did a fabulous job handling out motley crew! He kept the margaritas coming and had a seafood queso sitting at our table waiting for us when we finally sat down. The place was packed but that’s because the food and service is so good! The shrimp Diablo is really good if you like things a little spicy, and the shrimp or mushroom quesadillas are super yummy.

Love this place, quick and friendly even when slammed busy. Best mexican food I’ve found in Ohio yet, hard to get good stuff outside of Texas and California.

We have reason to be in Troy frequently, so we have been to their Troy location many times over the last ten years or so. Menu is typical of most of the Mexican places in the Dayton area, but they do have a few unique items. Other than sometimes being a bit loud and quite busy at the Troy location, overall experiences have been very favorable. We knew another location was opening very near to where we live and looked forward to trying it. I’m a huge fan of Burrito King, and I also think Taco Loco and Mixteca are quite good. I know La Fiesta is different from those, but that’s what we wanted at the time. I have recommended all of these places in the past. A Sunday evening, about 6pm, not busy at all. Seated immediately and chips and salsa were delivered. We requested the picante salsa and it came right out, even before drink orders were taken. We had a couple of juicy coupons(from their web site) so we looked over the menu, planning the best strategy to get some decent Mexican and save a couple of dollars. That’s where some of the problems began. Seemed as if they had never seen the coupons before, so there were questions that took a few minutes for answers. Order was placed(three combination plates — normally we order entrees rather than combination plates, but the one coupon was good for two combinations plates and the options they had for combination plates were good) and our queso dip and more chips arrived. We were munching. Drinks were refilled. More parties were seated. I’m used to food in most of these places coming to the table about 3 minutes after the order hits the kitchen. Not here — we had time to enjoy the chips(their salsa really is good) and the queso. But after about 20 minutes I started looking around. Other parties had not received their dinners either. Finally after a few more minutes things started moving out of the kitchen. We were informed ours would be out soon, and it was. Food was served HOT, which is fine by me. I will send back plates that are just barely warm. For basic combination plates the food was just fine. I was a little taken aback that chicken was not an option on the combination plate items(taco, burrito, enchilada, etc), only beef. The exception being the tamale, which is pork only. Everything was tasty; I especially liked the tamale. Dessert came with the coupon and we shared sopapillas. When it came time to check out, it took a while for the folks at the register to figure out how to ring up the discounts, but it seems they got it right. Overall, a decent experience. Maybe my expectations were higher after all the good experiences at the other location. Could still be suffering startup pains, but they did not seem to be understaffed at the front of the house. Possibly short-staffed in the back, so the kitchen may have been stressed. They did get hit with about eight parties(none larger that four) all at once. I’m sure we will be back to give it another chance. If it doesn’t go better, we’ll stick with Troy.

This place has something called Crazy Fries. You should know that going in. We’re talking french fries, covered in queso, bacon, and chorizo. Seriously! If that doesn’t get you drooling, you don’t love food! That said, La Fiesta has some issues, many of which I might chalk up to the recent opening of the restaurant. Jules and I visited in late December, with the restaurant packed to the gills. While we were seated fairly quickly – at a high-top that was crammed in beside the bar – drink orders and refills were hard to come by. The aforementioned Crazy Fries? Yeah, they’re good. Bacon was a little on the chewy side for my taste, but whooo… they’re a delectable heart attack on a plate. My entrée of machaca provided a unique taste, differing significantly from the typical taco/enchilada/burrito fare. As I later found out, though, it’s supposed to be served with tortillas! None were had… Jules’ chimichanga held similar flaws. While she was expecting something deep-fried and crispy, what she got served was much more similar to an enchilada, only bearing a light crisp on the outside and was drowning in sauce. Right now, there’s a glut of Mexican restaurants in the North Dayton/Englewood area. A new El Toro, La Fiesta, El Cazador, and Taqueria Mixteca are just a few. In order to compete, you’ve really got to bring something good to the table every time. And while they’re ok, crazy fries aren’t really going to be enough to tear my loyalty away from Taqueria Mixteca. Sorry guys, but there are just better places to go in the area!

We visited friends and family over the Christmas holiday and this was nearest to everyone’s home. And it was newly opened so we were excited. We love the one in Troy. It was a Friday night so expected packed and it was. We had a large party so we knew the wait would be long. We waited for about 45 minutes for a table. The hostess finally brought our two little boys water to drink while we waited, which I thought was nice. When seated, we had a long table by the bar which was fine, but it was cramped with other long tables of big parties and the servers had no room to move or do their job. The queso was okay… Troy’s is better. The chips and salsa were great! I ordered a Vegetarian meal with a chile relleno… it was horrible… my first bite it tasted off. Second bite it was freezing cold. I finally sent it back and they got me a new plate and it was piping hot, but still tasted horrible. Needless to say, I didn’t eat it at all. My son got the kids meal hamburger and it was cold. My boyfriends meal was mediocre. The Troy location is consistently better. Maybe it’s because they are new and have some growing pains but I hope it gets better.

The food was great and the remodel of the restaurant itself is very nice. The service was more than lacking. The waiter spent more time on the phone and sitting at the bar than waiting on customers. I’ll definitely be back. I won’t let one poor employee ruin my opinion of a restaurant.

First opening. People are packed in. I ordered chicken enchiladas de mole platter. The wait was short the platter was hot. The food was wonderful. I will be back.
