Infiniti of Dayton

My wife and I just purchased our first infinity and I want everyone to know what an amazing no pressure transaction we had. It started by going to the lot last week in the dark while pouring down rain. Out came Jerome, the manager and had us on the road test driving two different cars. We didn’t have much time to spend there because our son had a basketball practice we had to get him to. So we went back the next morning and met Richard our Salesman, what a great guy, he stayed with us from the beginning to the end, while Jerome was preparing our documents. While Jerome was doing his thing, Richard had us out at the car programming our phones to the car and showing us how everything worked on the car. Once we got that done, Jerome and Christian were ready for us to sign papers. All I have to say is if you want to buy a car with no high pressure sales tactics, go see Jerome and Richard, they are very professional and treated us like a King and Queen throughout the whole process. Amazing expierience!!!

Subpar Service, terrible communication, Premium Price $
I thought taking my Infiniti to the dealership was the best thing I could do for my car. But I have found that wasn’t the case. The employees at the local chain (Grismer) are better communicators; they check my car thoroughly. I get more value for my money. They have proven more
competent. They let me know what is going on with my car and suggest preventive
maintenance. I took my car to the Infiniti dealership (for more than 6 years)
expecting this level of service. Although I was paying for this level of
service I wasn’t receiving it. I was very disappointed.
It wasn’t all bad but here is a list of disappointments I can remember:
–They did not tell me the oil was very low each time they changed the oil. It
turns out my car burns at least 2 quarts of oil at the 7500 mile oil change
schedule. 5 quarts total capacity. New from factory the engine in my car burns
a lot of oil. After I found out, I brought it up. They looked at me like OK? I
didn’t know oil levels were important? No apology. Conclusion: They don’t
check your oil level when you bring your vehicle in for an oil change. This is
basic stuff and is inexcusable.
–They use an off name brand oil but charge a premium $ 80+ for an oil change.
Conclusion: Why use good oil when you don’t have to?
–I brought the car in for a regular oil change and «inspection.» I told them
both back tires had slow leaks. They couldn’t find that both my rear tires were
leaking around the rim. The next time I came in I had to tell them to
specifically «check the tire where it meets the rim.» In the meantime (between
oil changes) I had to buy an air compressor to fill my tires, literally every
week. Conclusion: Their factory trained technicians can’t independently find a
leak in a tire.
–I casually checked the air filter one day and was surprised at what I found.
The air filter was filthy. I immediately replaced it myself. Conclusion: They
don’t check anything on your car when you bring it in for an oil change and
inspection.
–I told them, at the next oil change, about the dirty air filter; and that I was
expecting them to check my car over each time to keep it in top running shape.
In response they ran it through a check list and gave it to me. Among other
things, this list indicated that the tread depth on each tire was more than
ample. Two months later I was going 5 miles an hour and my car lost control in
the slush and slid into a curb. This happened because the inside tire tread was
gone on both rear tires, the inside surface of each tire was totally flat for
about 4 inches. I was in shock when I saw this. In fact, my heart was pounding.
Conclusion: They just fill out the paperwork without looking at your car.
–They also failed to notice a bad transmission leak. I’m so glad the local
chain (Grismer) diagnosed this before I would have to replace the transmission.
Conclusion: They can’t find even a huge leak in the transmission.
–The reason I stopped going there (keep in mind I didn’t know all of the stuff
above until later) was that the car was having trouble starting. I determined
that the starter needed replaced. I told the service manager this. He said
they were going to still charge me for a diagnosis. The next day the dealership
called and said the car was ready. I got the car back and it had the same
problem starting. What they did still confuses me to this day. They just ran a
scan gauge and diagnosed EVAP code (for approximately $ 150, while most places this is free). Then they replaced some hose. The total was $ 500. I had
repeatedly told them over the years not to fix the EVAP system, that the check
engine light had been on for years. It turns out that the car really did need a
new starter, just like I had said. Conclusion: They don’t pay any attention to
what the customer tells them about their car.
–Here is the best part. I was optimistic. I thought well, on the bright side,
at least the check engine light won’t be on all the time. BUT IT IS!!! The
check engine light is always on! It still scans the same code for the EVAP
system. So I didn’t have the use of my car for the day and wasted $ 500 for
something I told them not to do. Best of all, my car still needed a new starter
even though I brought the car in to have the starter replaced.
Conclusion: They didn’t fix the EVAP system even though they charged me for it.
To sum it up; go to an Infiniti dealer if you want to pay more, get less.
Infiniti dealerships care more about image than what a customer says and needs.

This is a review for the body shop.
They replaced my front bumper which took over 4 weeks and right about 4 grand, most of which my insurance covered. (Luckily)
Right after getting home I noticed the side lamp just non functioning and I called back to inquire about that, I guess I was just so excited to be getting my car back after weeks of having a rental I didn’t pay attention to the light. I’m told to come in when I have time but that that end of my car wasn’t worked on. Really ?! My whole bumper was replaced so It is pretty evident that the side lamp which rests inside the bumper would have had to been removed on BOTH sides. With that sort of awkward answer I was surely not going back to deal with a defensive attitude.
Second, fast forward to 5 months down the road and I already have a paint chip on the bumper. Wtf! I have owned this gcoupe and the only original paint dings or chips have come from actual scrapes in city parking garages and scuffs due to the fact that it is lowered. Although the paint job looked great, it was obviously not clear coated or finished as meticulously as it could have been. For 4 grand this is completely off and I am beyond livid.
I just graduated and will be getting a new Infiniti this fall, surely not this locale as I am disappointed in the quality and overall customer service response.

Nice and friendly service but slow as all get out. It took over two hours to get an oil change and routine service check. I could have done this quicker myself. I love my g37 but will be taking it somewhere else for service next time.

I own an Infiniti and I will own a car from this dealership for the rest of my life! I can’t speak high enough about the sales and service departments. There is no pressure, and they go above and beyond to make you happy. They have some of the best customer service I have ever experienced.

The worst customer service I have experienced in my my whole life and if need an honest opinion just stay away from these people who are just after your money. The person wrote long review is simply either relative or got paid for writing this review. The owner is rude, they damaged my vehicle when they took it for service and have not paid a penny. First they agreed to pay but after knowing that their drivers insurance refused to pay they just decided to walk away. They told do what you can, we are not paying anything. Our insurance paid $ 2500 for damage infiniti of Dayton did.

If you don’t feel like reading my long review below… to summarize, I LOVE the service department here!!! (even if you don’t have an Infiniti!)
I’m a rare Unilocaler and have never reviewed a car place before, but I feel like I need to share praise for the Infiniti of Dayton service department. I actually don’t have an Infiniti car, I have a Volkswagen, but I have gotten exceptional service and pricing here for several maintenance visits recently.
My family stumbled onto this dealership when my Dad was looking for a place to get tires installed that he’d ordered online, and Infinity came in as the most affordable of the local installation options. When he took his car over to get the tires put on, he started talking to the maintenance manager, Don, and found out that one of the mechanics used to do work on VW’s. I am currently living in Chicago but come back fairly often to see my parents in the Dayton area. On a recent trip back, I was in need of new brakes for my Jetta. I’d called around to several Chicago dealers and independent mechanics… when I found out I was making a trek back to Dayton, I also called places around here for quotes. My Dad suggested checking out the Infiniti dealership due to his positive experience there. I called and talked to Aaron, a Service Advisor there, and got the best quote out of any of the places I’d talked to, by close to $ 300. My car went in and out, same day, and 6 months later, my brakes are working great and I’ve had no issues with the installation at all.
I just had my second visit to the Infinit of Dayton today, which was prompted by a recommendation by a Chicago VW dealer to replace my leaky radiator. Knowing I was planning a trip back to Dayton, I started getting quotes for repair in both cities. I was quoted $ 850 by Chicago and Dayton VW dealers, and got a wonderful quote by Infiniti of almost $ 250 less than that. They overnighted parts in to meet the schedule I needed (I did have to pay for the overnight shipping, but it was still much more affordable than other places). I also had them look at my front end sway bar links and bushings which the Chicago VW dealer told me I needed replaced for a cost of $ 250. Infiniti had two mechanics take a look, and told me that these parts were actually fine and not in need of replacing. So in total today, Infiniti saved me $ 500! :)
Everyone in the service department is honest, kind and extremely knowledgable. These guys saved me $ 800 in the last 6 months, and I can guarantee you that they will continue to get my business in the future. A cherry on top of it all is that they wash and vacuum your car, so it comes out of the shop looking brand spanking new. Call and talk to Don or Aaron and you’ll be in good hands!
