History

Established in 1930.

William Jennings Bryan University was founded in 1930 in honor of William Jennings Bryan, politician, diplomat, orator, and author. Shortly before his death Mr. Bryan expressed a desire to see a Christian college, dedicated to educating men and women to be servants of Christ, established in Dayton, TN, where he spent his last days defending the cause of creationism in the famous Scopes Trial.
