Yes they stare at you if you’re not Indian but who cares? I’m over that, that’s their problem not mine! Their selection of fruits and vegetables it’s amazing since it’s more native to me than other places I go to and can’t find but here, so should I stop going because I get looked at… I love it lol! They have a good pastry counter, nicely stocked freezer and yes lots of stuff on the floor but that’s because they are constantly restocking. Also be prepared to stand on a loooooong check out line.

My husband and I stopped in to grab some quick groceries and the store was filthy. Dirt on the floor and everything! I definitely did not feel like we were welcomed by anyone who worked there or was shopping. Do yourself a favor and go to Stop and Shop, it is the next plaza over.

For the South Brunswick area, this is the premier ethnic Indian grocery store. As the previous reviewer had mentioned, one does get stared at if one is not Asian in origin. But the key things to remember are that there are fresh vegetables(that Asians like) and the popularity of the store ensures that the rest of the inventory also has fast turnover. They also take requests for unusual items — like paan leaves or mango leaves for religious ceremonies and provide personalised services. After visiting this store, there is no need for South Asians to visit Iselin or any other South Asian centric shopping areas. They have expanded to providing frozen foods, milk, oil and additional items like Indian sweets! I heartily recommend this store and Rajivji is an excellent store manager — personable, helpful and knowledgeable.

Great selection of Indian foods and other ethnic foods(chinese, korean, kosher, halal). Amazing chutney selection. Energetic music. Long checkout line. No soap or toilet paper in restroom. A little uncomfortable for non-Indo/Pak shoppers because folks stare at you.
