The main problem is that this organization operates on a business model and not like a medical facility. I needed an urgent refill of an anticonvulsant and the Call Center is unable to handle this«consumer service» issue. Protocols which are scripted, bureaucratic, and not personal. Call center staff are not medically trained so have no idea how to handle medical issues after hours. Terrible/unacceptable. These are patients and doctors, not consumers/clients.

Do not go here! I had several tests done and the Dr. could not even articulate to me what they were for. He prescribed me medications and did not explain why or what they would treat. I was also very unhappy with my diagnosis. I will definitely not be going to Sutter anymore as this is the second time they have been no help at all. Not to mention the staff is extremely rude and made me feel very uncomfortable.

Sutter’s utilization management dept which approves procedures is the worst I have ever experienced. I have worked for, been a patient of, or taken care of family members at all four major healthcare organizations is the Sacramento area(Dignity, Kaiser, UCD, Sutter). Sutter denied a procedure that was part of routine care from the other organizations because they said it was not proven to be effective. The PRP injection I had at UCD on my right elbow worked very well but Sutter denied for the left elbow. No communication in spite of numerous requests for the rationale for denial when it is regular therapy at the other organizations. I would have fired the UM staff if they had worked for me at Dignity. Sutter UM demonstrated no respect for me as a patient.

Don’t go here — the office staff are rude, stupid morons. They treated us like crap, wouldn’t so much as attempt to accommodate us even though we drove 100 miles and spent $ 100 round trip, gave our appointment away to someone else, wouldn’t apologize for this unbelievably rude and insensitive conduct, attempted to make us bear the guilt for being late! Took my son there for a physical, mainly to establish a case file for a referral to a specialist. The appointment was set over a month ago. I live two hours away, rented a car to make the drive. The appointment was set for 1 pm, we got delayed in traffic and showed at 1:15. It was our fist time there. The appointment was for FORTY minutes, and was scheduled to last from 1 pm to 1:40 pm. They had given the slot to someone else. When we walked in, the receptionist was snotty to us, didn’t bother to give us the intake forms, delayed us further with discussions about our tardiness, how it was our fault they were«forced» to give my son’s forty minute slot to an «emergency» walk in client. This office isn’t an emergency room, and there were still 25 minutes left on the clock which should have been made available to my son. They refused to give him the intake paperwork or to accommodate him. I asked to speak to the office manager. The receptionist went into the back, came back TENMINUTES later(did she take a coffee break back there?), told me «her supervisor» was busy, but that my son could be seen at 4:30 — THREEHOURSLATER! Demanded to see the office manager, the girl went back again, came back another TENMINUTESLATER, said the office manager would be out shortly, and gave us the intake form. We thought we would be taken seriously and given an appointment. Instead, after another TENMINUTES and still no office manager(it was now 1:45), we realized they were burning up his 40 minute appointment time so that they could then tell us there was no time left. GAMES, GAMESGAMES! This office doesn’t treat patients like people but like numbers, cattle, a source of money, a paycheck! Idiots! We walked out, won’t pay a dime even though I’m certain they will attempt to get paid for a full physical. These idiots definitely don’t know how to attract and keep clients!

I went in with a severe cough and I had been vomitting after coughing. The doctor there didn’t do any tests and just said I had a lingering cough from a cold. The cough never went away a month later. Went to another doctor and it turned out I had whopping cough and was highly contagious. I also found out a main symptom and indicator of whopping cough is vomit due to cough(you can find this info on government websites not just wikipedia). I will never go here again.

I’m with Empireblue and decided to visit a doctor in my plan for a full check up. The doctor I got was Charles Som D.O. Decent guy and decent facilities. I’ve been to nicer places and I’ve been to worse places. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d put this place above average and would go back again.
