I thought this place was interesting, but I never got to try anything. People say that food here was good. Why did it have to close? There must be some kind of reason. I think I remember some taste from here, though.

I stop by this place every time I pass by on the way up to Tahoe. You can’t been the bang for the buck. It’s not a fancy place, but it tastes good for the price.

Came here the other night with a friend and was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the General chicken rice plate and it was delicious. The chicken was extremely juicy and crisp although I could have done with less sauce. The portions are ENORMOUS, you get a mountain of rice and a huge serving of meat not to mention the complimentary soup, eggrolls, fruit and tea. Definitely enough for 2 meals. The service was impeccable as well. Our waiter came with our food within 10 minutes of ordering and not only refilled our drinks regularly but even gave us more rice which is unheard of! I will definitely be back to get their 6 dollar lunch specials!

Pretty good food and is cheap. Not the cleanest of restaurants but a good place to get dinner with many people if you are looking to fill up.

Good food not great. Big portions, food came very quickly. Nice waiters, lots of leftovers. Haute cuisine it is not but all in all a good experience. I will definitely go back when visiting Davis.

Best Chinese place in Davis! Their fried rice, chow mien, and chow fun are yummy. When I’m in Davis and craving for Chinese food, this is my place to go. The meat doesn’t taste funny like most other Chinese restaurant around Davis. However, for the duck… It’s way over done. It’s very dry and hard. I’m a total duck fan but this is not the place to be getting your duck from. Also the staff are very friendly and sweet.

I lived in Davis for 5 years, and have experienced many restaurants. I would have to say Silver Dragon is one of my favorite Chinese food places of all time. I love the food, and the sizes are very generous. It’s cheap, and you always have leftovers! Lunch time is the best time to go, because you get a whole bunch of food for 6 – 7 bucks! I have read reviews about the service, and I’m a bit sad that there were such harsh reviews on the servers. Every time I’ve went in I received great service. There’s one server in particular, I don’t know his name, but I call him Buddha man, because he kinda resembles Buddha, and he is the happiest, kindest server I’ve experienced in Davis. He treated us extraordinarily, and even gave us free fruit and cookies after our meals. I truly am loyal to this place, and recommend Silver Dragon to everyone!

I crave food from this place at least once every couple of weeks. They give crazy huge portions and are always friendly to my girlfriend and I when we get there. One time they even gave us free soup! This place is never crowded and entirely underrated.

I’m a fan of this place. Go with a group and get the family combinations. There will be plenty of food. They allow substitutions so if you have that one guest who just has to have that one dish they get every single time, you can still get the combination and get that one dish. It’s a great way of getting people to branch out with Chinese food. That being said, this seems to be the more mainstream Chinese style food you’ll find in America. The place could use a facelift.

I’ve lived in Davis most of my life, and this used to be one of my local favorites. It seems like they changed ownership a couple years ago, and now the food and service no longer hits the mark. The lady got the order wrong, then proceeded to tell us that we got it wrong, rolled her eyes, and slammed dishes when we sent it back. They didn’t bother to re-fire my general chicken, and when it finally came back, it was soggy. Never mind the fact that part of the order never came to the table. Enjoy the $ 0.72 tip, lady. «Sammy,» whose personality and friendliness overcame the drab dining room, is dearly missed. The new wait staff are rude(无礼) and argumentative. Sad it went this way, but I won’t be coming back.

Great food. The vegetables taste like they were just picked. The hot and sour soup is amazing. If you get your entrée as a «steamed rice plate» you get a plate heaped full of the entrée and rice, plus soup and a fresh egg roll. I usually bring a tupperware and take half of it home for another meal. The service is friendly and the food comes out incredibly fast. The décor is kinda divey, but it’s got that mom-and-pop Chinese food restaurant vibe which is really what you expect when you get dinner for 2 with 2 full left-over meals for $ 15.

The actual food here is decent, and good sized portions. However, the service is always friendly. The reason four stars… Best Hot and Sour Soup in the world. Whenever I feel like I am getting a cold, I head here for a big thing of it to go. Again, food is pretty good, but that soup can cure anything

Get the«Number J.» Huge portions. My friends and I always joke about getting the«number J» because that’s what it says on the menu, but seriously, it’s the best. General Tso’s chicken with fried rice, chow mein, an egg roll, and a RIDICULOUS portion of chicken. All for around $ 7. Seriously one of the best back for your buck Chinese places around. The food is not the crème de la crème, but at such prices, who gives a damn? Go there when drunk. Or sober. It’s absolutely delicious and an absolute steal.

Our go-to place for authentic Chinese food. My husband and I always order the wonton soup and salty squid – both of which are to die for! You cannot go wrong with a bowl of soup that serves 2 for just $ 4! It is delicious with its gingery wontons, plethora of veggies and scrumptious broth. Pair it up with the salty squid, and you have a lunch you will not regret!

I have only ordered the lunch specials here, which are very special discounted prices since they give you large portions. Every time I have been here, I always have food to take home. I always get the Chicken Chow Mein, Fried Rice, and Sweet and Sour Pork lunch combination. The service is mediocre at best. The restaurant owner and workers are not too welcoming, but I have experienced worst. The place looks average and is definitely not a high-end Chinese restaurant. The tables have been dirty and sticky on the occasions I have been here. At least… they give you fortune cookies still.

SAM(the owner) ISAMAZING :) he’s so funny and provides great excellent service. This was the only chinese restaurant i would go to my four years at college. I always order the same thing… the spicy mandarin chicken, seriously the best! I graduated, but I always stop by when I’m in town :)

4 stars for service, 2.5 stars for food. Ever since I was a freshman I’d come here with my friends and family if we needed a good place for Chinese food(that is, until I went to Ding How). The owner always greeted us very personally, and would go out of the way to make sure that we got a little something extra with our meal. The food is good, not great. It can get pretty greasy and I would definitely feel it after a meal here. The specials are a good price though. I suggest going to Ding How instead.
