This place is alright. Sadly I saw many problems and had to have the worker fix it. First it was uneven filing of my nail, then missing an area on my nail with nail polish, and last but not least, the polish having uneven layers so half my nail was darker than the other half. On top of that they also cut my cuticles pretty bad. It’s the second day now and my skin is blehh.
I went with my friends. And her person sneezed in her hands 3 times and then continued working on her nails o_​o” that’s disgusting… Germs, germmmms!

I really don’t have time to explain all the ways this place really missed the boat in terms of service and general customer service skills. But the real kicker was when my manicurist Lin, asked us to leave with flip flops on our feet in 60 degree weather outside. My friend and I had a good laugh about it on the way to the car, but I have never in all my days of going to the nail salon ever been asked to leave without my toes being completely dried first. I can safely say, I won’t be using this place again as a relaxing getaway for an afternoon out with a friend while walking in downtown Davis.

The first time I ever even walked into a nail salon was 2 years ago when I transferred to Davis. I just never had gotten them done before, but one day I decided to give it a shot. I had picked Natural Nails and Spa over the other places because it was easily accessible from campus and had slightly higher reviews than other places. Plus, walk-​ins are totally okay.
Walking in, you know that this place is pretty clean, which for a nail salon is a huge plus. They have a fairly large variety of nail polish and it makes me so incredibly happy on how organized they have kept it. It makes it much easier to figure out the exact shade of polish you want. Since I never really got my nails done too often (I honestly only go 3 – 4 times a year, at the very most), I thought the prices were pretty fair. The mini massages they give you when you get a mani and/​or pedi are soooooo great. Plus, when you’re getting a pedicure you sit in an armchair massagers, which I enjoy far too much. I really like employees there as well. I personally never have had any issues with how I’ve been treated there.
And in full disclosure, this isn’t one of your higher end places where they go extremely out of your way to pamper you and offer champagne and stuff. One a side note, I’ve always been really weirded out being offered champagne at a salon, but that’s just me. Everyone who works there is polite, respectful, and attentive, which I appreciate. I just wanted a simple place where I can take a break from studying and get my nails done a few times a year. So for me, Natural Nails and Spa has always been a great choice. If I’m ever back in town and want to treat myself, I be sure to pay a visit :)

Located right across Bistro 33, there’s a cute little nail salon with situated along F.
Did the Spa Pedicure for $ 25. The check in deal they have here on Unilocal for the spa pedicure is the price they have been charging at the salon so don’t think it’s some sort of discount — it isn’t.
The lady I had was very quiet, but she did a great job with the nail color. Can’t complain about the massage, hot rock or hot towels either.
I never get manis or pedis because I never found the need to pay to get my nails done when I have a box of nail polish sitting in storage but it’s nice to treat yourself out once and while. It is a little steep for someone like me (plus I tipped) so I might just drop by for days when I feel like I could afford to lol

Went back again for another gel mani. Ended up getting Becky again to do my nails & to remove my old gel nail. She is pretty amazing. She made sure my nails were trimmed to the length that I wanted it to be and she was pretty careful when cutting my hangnails. Gel mani (with removal) was a total of $ 30, I think. But show your student ID (if you have one) and you get a discount. Most definitely will come here again!

This place is amazing. The minute I walked in, I was greeted by three women smiling and so kind. The friendliest staff. Great service, environment. I have tried a few nail places in Davis and this one is the best.

Walked in without an appointment and was helped within 15 minutes! The service was pretty good, the lady doing my nails made sure I was comfortable the whole time.
HOWEVER, when it came to cutting my cuticles for the gel manicure she wasn’t so gentle as she was before.
She cut my skin on two fingers. Although there was no bleeding, she could’ve done a better job.
Overall, okay experience.

Definitely the best nail salon I found while in Davis for my studies. They take their time and mKe sure you are satisfied with the service. The only reason i gave it ⁴⁄₅ stars is because sometimes they tried to convince me to do something other than I wanted, which would end up costing more and I do not like when nail salons insist on such services. Other than that, I always came out of the nail salon satisfied with their service.

Good: very polite and nice. Lots of options and variety. Fast service got a mani and pedi within an hour. Student discount if you show your student ID.
Bad: loud, hard to relax because of this.
Overall pretty good. Want to try out the other places in Davis too compare!

I went for a mani/​pedi party before one of my bestie’s bridal shower.
$ 15 for a basic manicure that barely took 15 minutes, if that. The gal was a total sweetheart and very personable, but she was in a big hurry. My cuticles were still jagged and not cleaned up like they should have been. I don’t have thrashed hands, but come on. Some of my nails weren’t even filed evenly on more than a few fingers.
There were 6 of us for a pre-​booked 10am appointment. Another group came in for their 10:30am pedicure appointment, and we were all squeezed into the front nail area. Don’t be greedy and overbook if your space can’t accommodate your clients!!!
We’re returning for another mani/​pedi 2 days before the wedding with another appointment scheduled. To be continued…

What a complete 180! We had our mani/​pedi appointments 2 days before the wedding, and they had adequate space for us. The bride and 2 bridesmaids got gel mani/​pedis, and I stuck with a regular polish mani/​pedi (see pics). Our nails looked fantastic! There was no rush, and the ladies took their time with all of us. Was it because we said it was for the wedding in 2 days? Don’t know, but I left a lot happier than before.
Bottom line– it’s hit or miss here, depending on when you go. Don’t book an appointment during a busy weekend morning or you risk a shotty nail job (I was going with the flow and didn’t want to be that girl complaining).

This place is the best nail in Davis! No kidding at all :) I love going to Natural Nails & Spa because they really do take their time working on your nail not like some other place where they rush doing your nail. I love love love how they do the design for my nails. It soooo cute and summery. if there a 10 i would give them 10.

Friend had a gift certicate for Natural Nails and invited me to tag along and make a girl’s evening out of it. She had brows and gel manicure done, I just had a regular manicure ($ 15+tip). A bunch of people were getting pedicures done but I felt like that would take too much time to also squeeze in. I didn’t catch the name of my manicurist, but I selected an O.P.I. color «Lunch at the Delhi.» Seated at the two-​seater table right next to the front door and front window facing Bistro33 — plenty of downtown Davis pedestrian passerby looky-​loos through the window was a little distracting. The hand massage was just okay, she was having a conversation with the manicurist in the next chair who was looking at photos the client was sharing on her phone, so not totally 100% attention given. The nail shape was fine, square slightly rounded, but the color application was lacking. Some nails were painted with about 1/​8″ of my nail side edge not covered, and all of them were not painted all the way down to the base so it already had the start of the «grown out» look. I’ve been to lots of different nail places where they range from basic tabletop small fans to sprays to separate table with lights to speed up the drying of the topcoat. This just had the fans and the manicurist got up and left me sitting there awhile, then finally asked if it was dry and for the payment. Yes, I was waiting for my friend to also be finished with her service behind me at another table, but that was a bit awkward. Started chipping within a few days, and it’s been about a week and I’m tempted to paint over them already or remove altogether. Unilocal check-​in offer was $ 25 for spa pedicure, I didn’t ask if they still honor it or not.

I’ve been going to Natural Nails for over a year now, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. The salon’s downtown, has easy street parking, and lots of natural light– but the best part of the salon for me is Amy!
Amy is the Martha Stewart of beauty– she can do everything, and she does it perfectly. Manicures, pedicures, nail art, and massages are all amazing. She takes her time, and does things right.
I started getting my nails done regularly almost ten years ago, and Amy is the best manicurist I’ve ever had. She trims your cuticles perfectly, files your nails into the most perfect shape, and pays such close attention to detail that I leave the salon feeling like a hand model every time.
The gel manicures and pedicures I get can last over a month without a single chip, but I usually get my nails done every two weeks just because I enjoy her company. If you’ve been on the hunt for a great manicurist, look no further than Amy– but please don’t steal my appointment times!

The best nail salon in Davis. I have always walked out thinking, ‘This is the best gel manicure I’ve ever gotten.’ I’ve never had to wait. Ni is great: she’s very thorough and careful with your nails and makes sure they are perfect. She put 4 coats of color on and 2 top coats.
They also have a 10% off for students, so just mention it and show your ID. My gel was $ 22. But use the saved money to tip extra — it’s well deserved.
Bonus: the toilet paper in the bathroom is super nice. I’m weird and always notice stuff like that.

Nice place for massage and pedicure. The pedicure was amazing and included wax, mask, hot stone, and oil massage.
The lonely thing is that I was seated near the window. I would recommend that you sit somewhere else in the shop as I felt as if I were on display. There are lots of pedestrians in downtown Davis. All of which feel compelled to turn and look while passing by.
The staff was friendly and took care of me right away. If I lived closer I would definitely come in regularly.

It is a ok place for mani&pedi. Just tell them treat your finger gently.
But I will stop doing my nails there since they made my finger bleeding and it kept bleeding until I pressed for a while. This is first time I saw my finger bleed like that while I was doing manicure. I am not sure if the nail clipper was disinfected clean enough since it cuts a lot… I won’t go there anymore.

This place is ATROCIOUS. I’ve been here twice and both times the woman doing my nails has cut my cuticles to the point that my fingers are PROFUSING with blood! I shouldn’t have come back the second time but I thought it was an honest mistake the first time around and wanted to give them another chance. The women cut my cuticle so bad that I literally let out a scream. She then proceeded to wipe and dab away at my OPEN wound with the dirty towels they use for EVERY client and kept trying to do my nails like it was no big deal while my finger was gushing with blood. She noticed I started to get uncomfortable and grabbed a cotton ball with her DIRTY fingers and pressed down on my wound. I kept telling her to stop because I didn’t want my cut to get infected and she legitimately would not go TF away!
They didn’t have any sort of first aid kit or anti-​septic ointment and I was terrified that my cut would get infected. I got up in the middle of my mani, and my girlfriend stopped her pedicure midway and walked out with me. As a cherry on top, the woman yelled «you not pay, it’s ok.» WTF!
Literally was about to go SO bad on her. Whether or not she said that — I wasn’t going to pay anyway. My finger nails were not even painted at this point and she did a horrible job filing them. Additionally as she was removing my old nail polish with removers — she shoved the nail polish under my nails so my nails didn’t look clean. I could’ve done a better job myself!!!
She even had the audacity to say something snarky in Vietnamese to her co-​worker and LAUGHED in front of me after I told her I’d like her to stop trying to touch my wound. How freaking disrespectful. You guys SUCK. Middle finger up and I’m out.
STAY AWAY.

Went here for the first time last week for a French manicure. Amy is very thorough and managed to make my nails, which are never very long, look gorgeous. She’s so intuitive about the width of the white polish and really does a great job mirroring the shape of your nail beds, which makes the proportions more pleasing to the eye. She was very gentle with my hands as well. She has a beautiful new baby girl and her photos are adorable!
Give them a visit!

Came here with my best friend last night and got a gel french manicure ($ 30) and a pedicure with designs on the big toes ($ 25 + $ 5 for the design). The pedicure was amazing! I never went to a place that gave a hot stone massage with a pedicure and it felt amazing. Also the women were all really nice, giving you tons of compliments — just what the post-​final Davis student needs!
Also they do not do acrylic nails because they only do natural processes. That’s fine with me cause acrylic nails have damaged my nails in the past. I resorted to getting gel nails because normal nail polish chips really easily and I wanted something that would last for a while. I will be coming back!

Got my first pedicure here and I am a happy camper!
I was helped by Tammy who did a great job cleaning up my toes and on the paint. She was very attentive and thorough. My feet felt incredibly soft when I left and the calf, foot massage she gave me had me walking very slowly out of the door.
Coming from SJ, paying $ 26 for a french tip pedi is crazy but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. You pay for quality after all!
