Best pedicure ever. Last summer, I had my toes done before a long trip to Europe. I am the sort of person whose pedicure often is damaged by my clumsiness before I leave the salon. My pedicure lasted a month. I love them.

I’ll start off by saying very friendly ladies working here! I went on a holiday so I was surprised to only see two people working, the wait was very long (almost an hour with 1 woman ahead of me) One woman started on my nails (taking off my polish and filing etc.) and had the second woman finish.
The second woman (I didn’t catch her name) was very rough! She filed the hell out of my cuticles, why she would file my cuticles I’m not entirely sure. She was very close to cutting me, but thankfully she didn’t. The paint job was sloppy but the shape was what I wanted. I’ve taken the polish off now and my nails look awful!

Karen cut my hair for the last couple of times. I was always happy with the result. Karen was not there yesterday so Kim cut my hair. I am super happy with Kim too. She gives me a great new look with my new style. Karen and Kim are great hair stylist. I love both of them. They are so friendly there. The price is very reasonable too.

This review is mainly for Kim, who cut my hair.
She’s cut my hair once before a long time ago (liked it then too!) but I never got a chance to review her! This time, Kim took me as a last minute appointment and then waited 20 minutes for me on December 23rd when I was running late from work. I desperately needed a haircut before the holidays, so I was really grateful she was patient with me! She is really nice and warm, took the time to give me a nice wash and layered cut, blow-​dry and styled me at the end, and we had a nice chat during the hour she spent with me. Haircut was super reasonable — $ 35.
Lots of regulars seem to come there — the colorist and manicurists seem to know lots of older women clients by name, while at the same time they were accepting college student walk-​ins with no problem. Quiet salon, clean.

I visited Looking Good Salon & Spas a few weeks ago with a friend to have some time to relax after our midterms. We just spontaneously walked into the salon and it was empty. The entire salon was very clean, the décor was adorable, and the women who helped us were polite. Overall, I loved the atmosphere.
We both wanted to get mani-​pedis, so the staff members were prompt to help set up our massage chairs. However, in the middle of soaking my feet, the water started getting colder and the massaging bubble effect disappeared. The staff member noticed after a few minutes and reconnected the tube that came loose, but after several times of this, I think she just gave up.
Furthermore, I felt very pressured to choose designs that costed more money. I came in knowing what colors I wanted my nails. When I started picking colors, the staff members kept recommending me different colors that lasted longer but costed more money.
Then, while doing my toes, one of the ladies recommended French tips for me, but told me they’d cost more. I suck at saying no, so at this point, I just went with it. I would have preferred to just have my toes solid white, however.
In the end, I paid roughly $ 60 for my gel nails and pedicure, which is at least $ 15 more than what i pay in my hometown. My mani/​pedi turned out fine, but I just can’t justify the cost after comparing what I’m used to paying.

I LOVE TO GET MY MANIS AND PEDIS HERE! All nail people are super friendly and personable. I don’t feel like I am just a fly in the wall, we actually have good conversation lol. Plus their work is professional. One of my nails slightly chipped a few days after getting them done and they were more than happy to fix it right away. The own Kim is a doll and hilarious! Book your girl time here!

I’ve been coming to this salon to get my nails done since Spring and I wish I could give a better review but my most recent experience was not good at all.
I came in on a Thursday to get a gel manicure, French tip. I’ve had the lady that did my nails before, but for some reason she didn’t do as well as she used to. The curved edges of the white for the French tip weren’t very clean or precise. They didn’t necessarily look bad, but I’ve had her use a brush to wipe it and make it look perfect before. I was pretty confused on why she didn’t this time. She finished in about an hour and a half and it cost $ 30, which is standard pricing.
However, that same day a little chip came off the white part of my pointer finger. I was annoyed, but just cut and filed my nail so the chipped white wouldn’t show. BUT THEN, the very next day three different nails also chipped and the gel began to come off. I called the salon and they said I could come in to get it fixed and they apologized.
I came in today and she fixed three of my nails. it took her half an hour. She told me that I shouldn’t shower with hot water because it makes the gel come off, but my nails chipped the day I first got it, before I took a shower. LATER THIS SAME DAY, one of my nails chipped AGAIN. Not the nails she fixed, but still! The whole point of getting a gel manicure is for it to last.
Waste of time and my money. Won’t be coming back.

I love how meticulous the nail technicians are. I’ve been here two times, had two different technicians, and both did amazing jobs. I would take off half a star if I could, just because my nails started chipping one week after I got them done.

Johnny did an AMAZING job taking my naturally very dark, almost black hair, to a silver with blue undertones (picture posted). my hair is still very heathy, little to no breakage, and I get compliments on it daily. he is a real pro!

Largely I’m impressed. 38 for a regular mani pedi which isnt bad. Im from so cal so i appreciate well priced salon work. They took their time and the wait wasn’t long at all for my girlfriend and I being walk ins. OK selection of colors. If I’m back in the area I will return and I do recommend this nice little place!

I had an appointment in Looking Good based on the good reviews I had read here. The overall experience was just ok. I had a formal hairdo and a gel manicure.
For the hairdo, the person that did it worked unnecesarily slowly, and the final result was nothing I couldn’t have done myself. He had an idea of what I wanted and never asked me if he was pleased with the result during the process. When he finished, he prevented me from touching my hair in a very rude manner. Besides, I had to ask him to fix one of the sides of my hair, because the hairdo didn’t look even.
Another unpleasant moment came when I paid him, because he charges you through his phone, and he makes you select the tip you wanna give him right in front of him, while he stares at the screen. Awkward moment.
For the manicure, I had never had one before, although I love to do it at home and I have a lot of experience. I chose a french manicure, and I was told that it would last like three weeks, but it started to peel off 6 days after having it done. Definetly not worth it. My nails were filed way too much than needed. I got no buffing or hot towel treatment, which was included, and they washed my hands without leaving time for the oil to make its effect. Sloppy and rushed manicure.

This should actually be 3 ½ stars. Amazing attention to detail for both toes and fingers; HOWEVER in less than 36 hours, my mani is tore up: 4 ½ nails completely bare, 3 nails chipping, 2 nails ok. I have not washed dishes or anything of the like hard on my nails in the last couple days, so they should have been at least «ok». Pedi still looks ok.
They may need to adjust their base or top coat or something… If pedi starts to go pretty soon, I will adjust my stars lower.
*****My stars are for the quality of work, though the polish may be an issue here.
Interestingly, a lady came in next to me while I was getting the mani portion of my service who said within 2 days her nail polish started peeling and was there to get hers redone painted. I guess this happens often.
At this point, I’m obviously removing and. repainting on my own… I live 20 min from the shop.

Wanted to get my nails done so I decided to stop by this place based on the excelled Unilocal reviews. I didn’t make an appointment and just walked in. This nail salon is VERY welcoming and has good customer service.
I got a gel manicure, and the manicurist did a phenomenal job! She was very meticulous and did a great job on my nails. I recommend this place to others, and i will definitely be back again! :)

I had Karen dye my hair turquoise in December and it lasted until mid March! By then my roots had grown out and the color had finally faded. I decided to go black! She did such an awesome job on my hair and gave me an amazing cut! She always does the best job on my hair.

This place saved the day! I called one place thinking it was making an appointment at another, due to misinformation online. Then I showed up at that place, and they didn’t even have time for a walk in! And I walked all the way from campus to G street.
Then I tried to go to Natural Nails on F St. but they turned me away because they don’t do acrylic, hence the «natural.» Then finally I went all the way back to B St. and they happily took me in! I loved the staff, atmosphere, and service. My nails were amazing!

I love coming here for my biannual haircuts lol when my split ends decide to go 5150 against my brush, I know it’s time for Karen’s help. I’ve known her for a long time even before she moved to this location and I love this woman! She knows how to layer my unruly locks just the way I want and every time I get compliments from people :) (plus I rarely wear my hair down, so when I do, it surprises people too lol). If you get the chance, stop by or make an appointment to see Karen for a great hair makeover :) she is the sweetest lady and I anyways enjoy her many stories. It keeps the experience entertaining and a delight. Tell her Akemi sent you! ^_^

So I’ve never done one of these reviews but I’ll do my best since my experience was so great. I walked in and was promptly greeted by the friendly staff. I said I wanted a haircut and out came a stylist named Karen to assist me. She had me sit in a chair and I told her what I wanted which was long layers and I also wanted to keep the length of medium-​long hair.
Before cutting she began to analyze the state of my hair, which I really appreciated because it showed genuine care, and told me about a treatment they had a promotion on called the Redken Shades I believe, I apologize if that’s incorrect. She told me it was packed with proteins and nutrients for the hair and that it would add back shine and color I’d lost and seal in some split ends. I agreed to do it since I thought for the price, it was a great deal. I’d have a nice treatment, my haircut, and it’d be styled at the end.
I am so pleased with how everything turned out. My hair feels so soft and so much healthier than it was before. The shine was also incredibly noticeable once Karen finished styling my hair. Karen also did an amazing job with my hair cut, she did exactly what I wanted. My hair is still relatively long and the layers have added a lot of dimension to it. And I cannot forget to mention how kind she was throughout the whole process. This will definitely be my go-​to place for all things related to my hair!
