This seems like a mom and pop shop, but the service here is amazing! They’re super attentive, everything’s in place and easy to find. There seems to be a bit of everything, from mops to lumber outside.
I came here with my roommate looking for some thick wire to use on her art project. There were a bunch of cables neatly arranged all around the area and the wires tucked into their own little section. The man in the front knew pretty much exactly how much my roommate needed for her project just with us giving a simple description (exactly what I had estimated for her too). I was a little curious of how he was going to measure our 26 ft. of wires until he plops the whole roll onto the ground and had us step on the end. For some reason, I found it hilarious that there was a giant measuring tool painted onto the floor (really useful if you actually think about it).
The pricing was way less than we expected (only around 14 bucks for 26 ft. of thick copper wire). We were in and out in less than 10 minutes.
Final Thoughts: Definitely would be back here if I need any hardware supplies.

Excellent family owned lumber and hardware store, also excellent door shop! I ordered two solid core interior doors without frames, and the worksheet they gave me for measurements made it very easy to get it right. The priced was comparable to what I would have ordered at Home Depot, and they were ready in 3 days.
Love being able to support such a well-​run local business!
A suggestion for the reviewer who had a bad experience with the keys: depending on how old the lock is in your rental, the key may need to be sanded down. I have had this issue with keys no matter who makes them. If you go back to the store and let them know the keys don’t work, they will sand them down for you a little more and that should do the trick!

Hibbert Lumber carries all kinds of lumber. The mill supervisor knows his stuff and workers at the mill are very helpful and friendly. Their prices are actually very competitive when compared to HD and Lowes. I got the delivery for free because it was delivered in Davis.
My only complain is the older lady who ran the cash register wasn’t very friendly and she seemed to have some issues. At least that was the impression I got from my two visits. Everyone else was friendly and helpful. Will continue to shop here for lumber.

Oh, yeah! This is the place to go for lumber and building supplies in Davis. I’ve been shopping here for a long time.
Hibbert is where you go if you want nails or deck screws by the pound. If you want the highest quality lumber products look no farther than the yard. If you want to make a concrete footing, go to Hibbert.
The quality of lumber and building materials available at Hibbert Lumber is consistently better than what you will find at Lowe’s in Vacaville or Home Depot in Woodland.

This is a great local lumber company! They were extremely helpful to me as a beginner and showed a real interest in my woodworking project. They helped me select the right wood, and worked to get me a good deal. The first few free cuts and free local delivery sealed the deal for me as a student with few tools of my own. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for quality lumber locally.

Had 3 copies of a key made here. None work. Avoid, at least for key-​cutting!

I had 4×4 corner post go down in a wind storm, fence was only 5yrs old, cheap cedar. After checking HD and Lowes, they had crap. I then called my old friend Becky at Hibbert, she told me she carried some high end redwood. I went in and purchased a beautiful 4×6 rough con heart beam, no sap wood. Being that this particular post was holding up 3 different fences at an intersection, I went bigger AND better.
I was recently invited to their very first chili cook off. Boy what a surprise and turnout! Chili everywhere and foot long hot dogs. Can we say chili dogs! My coworker at 3 of those for a grand total of 3 feet in hot dogs, wow. I could only pound down 2 feet worth, very good. Looking forward to my next experience here.

I was in Davis the other day and realized I REALLY miss this place, which is kinda weird considering I’ve only been there once, but WOW!
Last year I took an introductory woodworking class and needed some contrasting hardwoods for my project. I only needed a total of about 6 feet to work with, but even after I explained what it was I was there to purchase, I was taken around the lumber yard and shown a variety of options. I was even shown where on my board choices they would make the cut to give me the fewest imperfections. When I went inside to pay, I was greeted by peeps at the counter who were not only friendly, but genuinely enthusiastic about what I was about to attempt in class.
An all-​around great experience I will go out of my way to repeat when I have projects to complete in the future.

This place is great. The level of service is unrivaled in Davis hardware stores. If you go on a weekday with a question, you can pretty much guarentee to get your ear talked off with advice. They can also get you pretty much anything under the sun if they don’t have it in the store.
