Love my new cut and highlights! Elizabeth was a great listener and did just what I asked. I have fine hair and she gave me a great precision cut with lots of fine highlights for a natural look. I’ll be back!

I have just moved to Davis from the Bay Area and I had no idea where to get my hair cut. I looked on Unilocal!and found Hair by Elizabeth. I am 45 years old and I’m growing out a pixie, so my hair is short, but much longer than a pixie at this stage. Everyone knows growing your hair out is a PAIN IN THE A$$, but Elizabeth made a clean, in-​between grow out hair style for me. I wasn’t even sure what I wanted, and she just took the reigns and cleaned up my hairstyle. I love it. It’s like a short bob.
Also, Elizabeth was very easy to talk with and has a lovely personality. Her prices are VERY reasonable too. I’ll definitely be returning! Thank you, Elizabeth!

Liz is hands down the best hairstylist in Davis. She has great technique, and makes you feel like a million dollars after a cut. Every time.
I went to Liz about 3 – 4 years ago when I was down the dumps about everything in my life. At that point, I felt unattractive. The first time Liz cut my hair, I felt a tension release from my shoulders and I felt more tolerable, then accepting, with how I looked. I kept coming back because she makes you feel good and she’s very personable.
Alas, I’m still on the look out for a new hairstylist in the bay area, but can’t find one as awesome as the lovely Liz.
If you decide to have Liz cut your hair, she’s a keeper!

So I have been a student at UC Davis for nearly 4 years now and in all that time I have refused to get my hair done anywhere other than with my stylist back home in San Diego. But seeing as I have been sporting my summer hair now well into December I knew it was time to find someone to cut my hair up here. After reading countless reviews I decided to book an appointment with Elizabeth. Let me tell you, as someone who has had bad experiences before it takes a lot for me to let someone cut my hair and I am SO glad I decided to get it done here. She was great, really listened to me about being nervous and made sure I was ok with everything she was cutting. My hair looks great! Great experience and I am definitely going to be a returning customer. Also great price points (I have super long hair so cuts are usually really expensive) and just a really over-​all great stylist. I would definitely recommend!

Three days before my appointment I hacked off 4 inches off my hair but couldn’t get all the damaged hair out. I usually do my own hair so I’ve never paid to get my hair cut or even colored and I’m 22 years old so I was pretty scared coming in since I noticed that most people hate their haircuts when they get it professionally done. I came about 10 mins early to my appointment but it was the day before Halloween so they were super busy. I ended up waiting another 30 mins until Liz was ready to cut my hair. Most people would be pretty mad if they had to wait 40 mins to cut their hair when they had an appointment but Liz was so accommodating! She realized I had some damage from dying my own hair and offered to put on a free hair mask while I waited until she was ready for me. The atmosphere of the place was so upbeat that I didn’t even realize I waited 40 mins. The hair cut was exactly what I wanted and more! Liz was so nice that I ended up leaving with some free bumble and bumble sample products :) I definitely recommend getting your hair cut by Liz. She has an awesome technique for getting out dead ends!

Had a really great cut with Eloina, I have curly hair and she really seemed to understand that it needs a different treatment than straight hair. I was a little surprised by the price but it is a really nice salon and my hair looks lovely. After the cut she used a blow dry cream and put a little bit of curl at the ends. I’ve never left a salon with such a nice blowout.

Elizabeth is amazing! She helped me find the perfect shade of chocolate brown that would compliment my dark hair for a subtle ombré look. She also managed to give me a great cut from my vague descriptions and poor choice of photos (I was really unsure of what I wanted, my bad). Throughout the entire appointment, she was so nice and friendly and managed to tame my thick hair without complaint. Her blow dry skills are also supreme and I will for sure be seeing her again next time I need a new look.

I woke up and felt like I was going through a midlife crisis at the age of 23, so I started doing spur of the moment things and one of them was deciding to chop off my hair. Usually women feel depressed after major chopping, but no remorse was felt at all, because Liz did a wonderful job.
My hair is very fine and brittle, it lacks volume and definition. Of course, a haircut isn’t going to fix that, but she did a great job at cutting the layers… which I believe has added more volume to my hair. I told her I wanted something different and cool and she exceeded my expectations. The one thing I will note is that, usually when I’ve gotten haircuts, I like the way I look when I walk out because the stylist does a great job at STYLING the hair. However, I’ve noticed that after, I find it difficult to style my hair (crimp, wave, curl, straighten, etc.) because it’s either really choppy or really uneven. I haven’t had a single problem styling my hair since having her cut it for me.
She does a great job at catering to the needs of the client. She listens, takes her time and is extremely meticulous and being meticulous myself, I greatly value that. You will feel extremely pampered by her and her staff. I usually have to ask places to wash my hair for me, but they offer a full shampooing before you can even ask, kudos!
Liz is extremely personable, funny and friendly, we chatted in english and spanish and because I’m so close in age to her soon, she told me I could be her daughter and I truly felt her motherly instinct come out during my hair appointment (the good motherly instinct though).
If you’re looking for a talented/​skilled, customer-​oriented, meticulous and friendly hairstylist, look no further!

Liz is amazing from start to end. First, the appointment making system is very easy to use. Then once you’re in the salon, just show her a picture and she knows just what to do. She is a color genius and every once in a while, she does those quick 10 min touch ups for her clients free. She’s very tech savvy, funny, and really enjoyable to talk to. I brought my boyfriend with me for color and cut. She gushed at him the whole time for being so sweet. He didn’t even mind wait 2 hrs after that.

She is awesome. Frankly speaking I read reviews before coming here and took the risk. I
happy that from more than a year I come here and she does good color and handles my dry and damaged hair. I am. happy to drive 30min from Sacramento. Great job Elizabeth!

My hair textured is very fine. I am also a very well versed in hair lingo, is not easy to find someone that can work with my hair, I always use to leave a hair solon with regrets unsatisfied with my hair.
When I walk in to Elizabeth’s solon I was a bit nervous, I thought that I would not get the results that I wanted. I explain how I wanted my hair to Elizabeth she immediately started working on my hair.(«I was nerves and kept on thinking if she really knew what she was doing») When she said your done my mouth just drop! My hair was not only exactly how I describe it also fit to my face shape it was an excellent job. I walk out of her shop with the results I wanted and feeling 200% satisfied.
Since then Elizabeth has done my hair cut from A-​cuts to pixie-​cut, also my hair-​color from sun-​kissed highlights to a dramatic Caramel-​Blond highlight appropriate to my age. She is absolutely talented, always knows EXACTLY what she is doing and does a fantastic job. She is up to date with the latest hair styles and trends she provide excellent and consistent services. Eloina created a beautiful up-​do that was exactly like the picture I used for a reference. I’m a bridesmaid and need my hair to look fabulous and it came out better than expected! I have fine hair and so it only took roughly an hour to complete, which was great cause I set aside 2 hours for my hair appointment just incase… Thanks so much Eloina! :)

Elizabeth was such a joy to work with! I showed her a picture with the color I wanted and she matched it so well. She was thorough and paid close attention. I’ve come across some stylists that are constantly on the phone while doing hair and often miss things. I’m glad I was given her as a recommendation, I will definitely spread the word!

Liz does my hair regularly. She does a great job and is so quick to respond when you need a last minute appt. She does a great job with cuts and color. Would recommend her to all my friends and family.

I would like to say Elizabeth did a great job, however it was the WORST hair cut I have ever had. My hair didn’t feel like hair. I had a mullet! I went to my husbands hairdresser and she fixed it. She was even in shock how Elizabeth cut my hair. I had a layer ABOVE my ear. WTF! I was growing my hair, and wanted some layers but nothing like that. Having a salon in Davis carrying the bumble & bumble product is great, but don’t let this place fool you. Let alone all the other reviews. That’s the only reason I tried it. It has taken me months to write the review since I’m not one to write negative stuff, but having a bad haircut can make or break you. She sells the online discount which I bought, then when I was checking out it was less and she was just going to keep it. Haha
It’s the worst hook line and sinker deal around! Maybe she is better with long hair since in most pics that’s what is posted. I have hair a little past my shoulders & finally it’s growing back after the botched haircut! The highlights she did were so so as well. NOT worth the money or the devastation after.

I would highly recommend Hair by Elizabeth.
First of all, I can usually get an appointment within two days of calling, which is really nice, as my student schedule is tricky, and changes a lot.
Liz herself is really skilled and kind/​friendly. I’ve been seeing her for over four years (maybe five?), and she is able to understand and give me exactly the cut I want when I just say, «Short.» I don’t feel nervous when I go to see her, because I know exactly what I’m getting, and I trust her incredibly. Her skills are very versatile: she gives me great young men’s haircuts, and my mom and grandma great cuts and colors. My partner, who has very difficult (stiff, thick, curly) hair, also sees her, and she cuts his hair wonderfully.
As far as friendliness, she is always so nice and happy during appointments, and whenever I walk by the salon, I can give her a quick wave, and she excitedly waves back, which is really fun.

This was the first time I’ve gotten my hair dyed and washed in a salon– and I admit, I was scared that my hair wouldn’t turn out properly. However it turned out beautifully! The color is perfect, and my hair got smoother and shinier. I’m in love with her work!
Elizabeth is absolutely skilled, attentive, accommodating, funny, and listens well! She knows what she’s doing, and it shows! I definitely recommend her!

Elizabeth is very skilled, and an incredibly nice person. It was my first time coming here today, after moving to Davis. And let me assure you that you will be pleased. My hair is thick and wavy and for a guy, its hard to go to a regular barber shop and get stylish hair. She does it. Highly recommended.

I’m from LA, so I always get my hair cut when I go home, but this time I didn’t have to and my hair needed some major loving, so I was asking around to see where I should get it cut in Davis.
I’m not the type of person who takes this lightly– yes I know it’s just hair and it’ll grow back, but my hair grows really slowly, so yes, my hair is very important to me! One of my very good friends got her hair cut by Liz and it was really good. I really liked it. My other friend got her hair ombréd by Liz, and it was very well done. Well, I wanted to get my hair cut and ombréd for the summer, so perfect, I decided to go to Liz!
I booked my appointment with her on Monday, and got my hair cut on Wednesday. But between Monday and Wednesday, I was still a bit skeptical about not doing more research, I was nervous! I read a lot of Unilocal reviews, but Liz still seemed to be the best choice, and I had two friends who told me that they loved her.
Wednesday Morning– I show up and Liz is just bursting with energy! She is so funny, nice, and amazing! She made my whole experience absolutely amazing and I kind of didn’t want to leave the salon… I am someone who’s very picky with my hair, heh. I wanted to get it trimmed, but to keep the length at the same time. She did a perfect job with that. She also thinned my hair a whole bunch, which is exactly what I wanted! Now that the cut is over, I was extremely nervous about the ombré. Ombrés can turn out either extremely well or extremely horribly… and mine turned out really well! (Sorry I’m just bragging now) Well she did an amazing job at the ombré, but she saw that I wasn’t really happy with it (and that’s because I wanted it to be a little lighter), so without hesitation, she asked me if I had anything to do for the rest of the day, and I didn’t, so she spent extra time and did another round to make it exactly the way I wanted it! (It was my fault for not really specifying at the beginning) After lightening it, it was everything I expected and so much more!
I am absolutely in love with my hair and will be coming back to Liz all the time! She is amazing, and just the whole experience is so fun and worth it!
