Taco Rico

the food was good but I had ordered online with the Eat24 app and the food arrived very late. Otherwise a 5 star place for sure.

Came here for the first time. Ordered the loaded taco: 3 tacos… soft, chicken. It was cold. The soft tortillas were cold and the chicken was cold. The re-​fried beans were burnt tasting and lukewarm as was the spoonful of rice.
While waiting for the food, they offer you cold chips. There is a small self-​serve salsa bar complete with extra long hair.
The fact that no one else was in the place at 7pm should have been an indication, but we wanted to try a new place. Will not be coming back. If I could give negative stars I would. Could not leave fast enough. Did not finish eating.

We were craving mexican wanted to try something new. 2 adults 2 children and between all of us only one thing was liked. The cheese enchilada. I thought the chips tasted stale and both teens that ordered the steak burrito ended up throwing them out after a few bites. I had the taco salad. It was ok but I did not finish it either. Will not return.

Let me first say that my visit here was the best visit I have ever had at a restuarant. The Crew were so caring for my Wife and I. She is pregnant and I let them know of this cause she has to stay away from certain food due to morning sickness. They helped get her some customized order nachos that was perfect for her to eat. And then the cook was extremely generous. They congratulated us by gifting us some fried ice cream as a congratulations for the pregnancy. The Food was top notch. The Crew is Top Notch. Will visit again!

Hate to give a bad review but I must say my experience. Only have been to this restaurant twice. The first time I went I ordered my food and it came out and was wrong, but the cook came out and fixed it but when it was delivered it was cold and the beans were very dry, the flavor I was not fond of but I was staving so ate it without mentioning it. I decided to give this place another try and went there again and the lady that delivered it didn’t know which dish was which, and gave me the wrong order but I mentioned it and she quickly fixed it, but once again it was cold no warmth to it at all and it was very bland and needed a lot of salt and seasoning to taste decent. Needles to say this place seems to have bad communication when it comes to orders, food never seems to be hot, so I won’t be returning.

What on earth is attractive about this fast food restaurant? Thought i’d try it, who knows – maybe a discovery. All the food tasted like pseudo-​Mexican from a frozen food convenience dinner. The sauces were forgettable, and the meat content on my enchilada was non existent.
While the staff seemed earnest enough, the product was so inferior as to make me feel sorry for them. Strictly for those who salivate over Taco Bell and their ilk.

I was very disappointed with this place. I ordered 2 tacos to go, one beef, one steak. After I paid for my food the girl behind the counter said «by the way, we ran out of chips, so you won’t be getting any.» Chips and salsa are my favorite part of Mexican food, so this was disappointing. While I waited for my take out order, I saw a roach on the floor. The tacos were mediocre at best. I will not be returning.

Went for «Taco Tuesday» but, found out they do Monday Madnesses”. Decided to stick around and glad I did. We shared the three tacos and the quesadilla. Both were tasty and delicious. The salsa is on point. Looking forward to my next visit on a Monday most likely…

I’ve only been to Taco Rico twice, and I have to say I was more pleased with my experience the second time around. The food here doesn’t really live up to the name of «Taco Rico» it is kind of more just like plain, and boring. Instead of going with an entrée this time around I decided to have $ 1.00 taco specials chicken and beef and I think it’s safe to say they have the taco game down now. I had the tacos before with an entrée and they were served cold so you know you’re just gonna have a bad time from there on, and pretty much the reason why I stayed so far away. Today the tacos were served fresh, and for a dollar taco I’d say it’s worth it. There are a lot of better Tex-​Mex options in the area, but if you’re looking for a cheap, quick bite for lunch… can’t go wrong with the Monday taco special here. I’ve also noticed the staff always seems to be new here and somewhat lost while taking orders. That’s okay I know this is a new store, but I can’t imagine how the line gets when it’s busy… Glad I haven’t experienced that. It’s not a bad shop, they’ve definitely got a lot better compared to my first trip here. I’ll keep this place on my radar, I’m not in a hurry to go back though.

Pass this place everyday & finally decided to stop by. Great local place for Tacos. Everything was fresh. The chips were light & great plus they come with anything you order. Staff is very friendly & fun atmosphere. We’ll be back!

Let me preface this by saying that I am a HUGE fan of the Dade locations. At one point I used to work down the street from the Kendall location and would go there for lunch every single day. So, when I found out that a location was opening near my house I was ecstatic.
What a total letdown. The quality of the food at this location is subpar; totally bland. Not that it tastes terrible… it just tastes like nothing. I ordered the fish tacos, and I don’t even think the fish was seasoned at all. My boyfriend ordered a steak taco and steak enchilada and received burnt steak… and just a little bit at that. That’s after we were charged $ 3.00 more for getting steak. And the extra guac we paid for? It’s like they measured out an exact tablespoonful. Absolutely not worth the extra dollar.
Other things to note: my platter was served on a plate that was too small, so when the girl ran it over to me she had to pick up the droppings around the table. Also, when I walked in and excitedly commented, «I hope this one is as good as the others!» her response was, «I guess…»
On a positive note, the salsa bar is still as fabulous and the staff was friendly (despite not knowing how to answer in favor of a business.) The location was clean and it’s in a good spot. Would probably not come here again.

Only complaint was i got charged twice once from Unilocal and once from actual restaurant.
Then they made me return for a refund!
They could have at least offered a taco for my troubles… oh well

I walked in for lunch and saw that they had 3 tacos with rice and refried beans for a $ 5.99 lunch special, which also came with chips. The price also included a trip to the salsa bar while I waited for my food. The tacos and meal were aggressively mediocre and the service was exceptional. For the price, I probably would eat here again, but I don’t know that I would become a regular.

Even though they’re new, I’ve been here a few times since they’ve opened because the menu looks amazing; there’s so much to try. The wet burritos are awesome! They’re quite substantial; it’s not just filler. There’s a lot of meat! And I love the red sauce they put on top! The fish tacos are cooked with this spicy fish-​sauce which is perfect for a fish taco. The salsas are fresh, they make them new every day, in fact they made a batch while I was there. It’s great to see a place that cooks fresh food, instead of that pre-​packaged stuff.
I had the Tacos De La Casa (House Tacos) tonight. The red cabbage slaw is unique… it’s good! I’d get them again, but I want to try something different next!

I just came back again and tried the churrasco special. AMAZING! I cooked perfect, it was nice and tender with lots of flavor. They make their own chimichurri sauce and it it excellent. The price is right on the money as well. Big on flavor, little on the wallet!

Wow! I’m impressed with this new Taco Rico! Let’s begin with the staff… everyone was very welcoming and gave great suggestions on what to try. The manager also came by to check on us and ask if we needed anything and if we enjoyed our meals.
The gave us fresh chips and went over the different salsas and their ingredients available at their salsa bar (which was very clean). I tried the tomatillo, chunky salsa and pico de gallo. I like that they have jalapeños in their salsa bar!
I ordered the loaded crunchy tacos and was able to get one of each: chicken, beef, and steak. The meats were very well seasoned and juicy. The other ingredients like the guacamole, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream tasted very fresh as well. My tacos came with rice and beans that were also very flavorful. My hubby ordered the steak burrito and enjoyed it as well.
I can’t wait to go back and try their fajitas… Next time I’ll be sure to save room for dessert!

Friendly staff that aim to please is always important to me. I can’t enjoy a meal without it. The staff was exceptionally nice.
For what I got and the fact that the lunch special comes with sides the price is very fair.
The taco and enchaleta were nice but the chichen was a bit dry. The chicken tortillas were excellent.
My boys had the beef and said it was great.

I rarely leave reviews on here but I thought they deserved a 5 star review for excellent service! First I called 30mins before they closed and they told me the driver was already out and that might have been his last delivery so I kind of begged them to have him go back out because my car was in the shop. So the driver came which he was extremely nice! I realized he didn’t bring my drinks I ordered called him back and he told me his manager said its up to him if he wants to make the trip back out, the store was close btw. So he came back and I had to thank him over and over just for putting the customer first! I will definitely be ordering
from there again!

Wasn’t too impressed with Taco Rico’s food. Ordered the 3 taco platter and picked 1 of each: chicken, pork and beef taco in soft & crunchy style. Chicken and pork were very dry… only ground beef was decent. The rice and beans were meh and the whole plate was colorless. Tacos need to pack a punch in each bite like bam, boom, pow. These could have used better seasonings and a a sprinkle of cilantro. Too bad because the staff were all very nice and friendly.

It’s 8 pm on Friday night the week of their opening. They are definitely still working out the kinks. The tortilla soup tasted like hot, puréed pico de gallo with a dollop of sour cream, cheese, and soggy chips. The complimentary corn chips tasted stale. The queso was a brick of melted velveeta for sure, with watery poco de gallo in the center. We fished it out with my soup spoon. The chimichanga was disappointing too.
A guy did come around and asked how everything was. They seemed eager to please. We just didn’t have the heart to tell them the food was not good. We will not be returning.

The food here was really good! They have a lot of variety of menu items, including Jalapeño Poppers which were really great. They also have a lot of salsa options at the Salsa Bar, including limes, ají, and salsa verde.
The staff there is very friendly and welcoming and it’s a really nice environment. They did make a few mistakes when it came to ordering the food, but it’s understandable being a newly opened restaurant and all. They were very quick and accommodating when it came to fixing the problems with the order though so overall it was a positive experience.
