Schakolad Chocolate Factory, a fresh, hand-​made on-​premises European-​style chocolate business, has been making chocolate for three generations.

With many stores across the country, the brand is fast becoming recognized as the perfect combination of an upscale, gourmet chocolate boutique with a service-​oriented atmosphere of care reminiscent of a ‘Mom and Pop’ European Chocolateria.

The Davie location has been in the same location since it was founded in 2004. The present owners, Dafne and Adriana came from different venues and together they spearhead this wonderful and nice chocolateria.

Ugh I came in here for the first time today and got a handful of chocolates. The only good ones were the caramels. all the others were soo nasty. Tasted like they’d been old. I wouldn’t come back here.

I have not been here for quite some time, but thought of them when I wanted to do something special for my friends and her grandchildren. I was sadly disappointed to find that the customer service that I remembered is a thing of the past. I called in the morning and asked some questions to make sure they might offer what I wanted and told the woman on the phone that I would follow up in person later in the day. When I can to the shop and told her who I was, she grimaced when I asked if she might have a moment and said begrudgingly yes and then not really. Guess I won’t be going back. Such a pity they can’t be bothered to speak to a customer.

I visited schakolad while waiting for my appointment at red head salon. When you walk in you get a thick aroma of chocolate in the air… they have so many creations all over the shop which are very interesting to look at.
The girl that was as there was very nice and made my drink pretty quickly. I felt a little awkward cuz I wasn’t sure where to pay but she was very nice and told me not to worry about it.
I ordered the schakolatte and man is it good. The taste isn’t overwhelming and it seems so lovingly made. Delicious. I would come back and bring friends with me when I can.

I’ve been dying to visit Shakolad for some time and finally went to buy gifts for the holidays. The service is amazing. The staff was very attentive and kind. You can feel that they love what they do and want you to leave happy and satisfied. The prices are reasonable and my family and employees loved their gifts. This definitely isn’t the last time I’ll be visiting Oh, and the chocolate is DELICIOUS!

I usually go to Godiva to pick up some chocolates for the lady friend, but decided to switch it up. They allowed me to sample fresh milk chocolate vs dark chocolate, and they were both **see above**
The lady prefers dark chocolate, so I proceeded to fill a 1 pound box full of an assortment of **see above** dark chocolates. After the box was full, I had her stuff a few more in there for good measure. (I had to make sure there were enough chocolates for me).
My lady was pleased with my offerings. Now to find a way to inconspicuously appropriate some of her **see above** chocolates.
(P.S. they also have sugar-​free candies for those offended by sugar, and dairy-​free chocolates for those who hate cows).
(P.P.S. they have this box of chocolates that is made from chocolate that you fill with chocolates. For like when you want chocolate but also diabetes.)
Update: I’ve managed to slowly slim my lady’s chocolate stash without her taking notice.
Update: She made a comment today about her box looking a little empty. She’s on to me.
Update: I made a fatal mistake and ate one of her Oreos. She counted those. I’m in hiding.
Update: I survived. But I now need to make another trip back here to acquire more offerings to the lady.

I go to the one in Rio Vista Fort Lauderdale off 17 st causeway, the marshmallow chocolate cone was amazing. I’ll go back specifically for that.

For people who complain, «chocolate is so expensive», you just don’t get it then.
There is commercial garbage and then there is hand made, private recipe chocolate.
Schakolad has a great variety of just the right sweetness and flavor chocolates.
My wife and I bought a variety of milk and dark chocolate truffles. All were fresh, smooth, and delicious. It is a worthwhile splurge and indulgence, so go there and treat yourself!

I stopped in to see how their chocolates were. The chocolates were delicious, the staff and owner were very friendly and informative about their wares and chocolate in general. I watched them hand dipping the confections and spent about 40 minutes talking with them and sampling things so I could make up my mind what to buy. Don’t forget their hot chocolate drink which was fantastic

I visited Schakolad on Christmas Eve to get a little addition to my Christmas gift baskets and this place popped into mind. I had never been here before but I would always drive past it on my way home from my workout class so I decided to give them a try. In addition, once I read Brenda P. review, I knew I had to try them out. I walked into the store and was immediately swept away by all the yummy chocolatey smells wafting through the air. They have an abundance of chocolate truffles in a large variety of flavors that are all made on site. They even have sugar free chocolates but those aren’t made on the premises.
They had a variety of Christmas gift baskets already made that were available for purchase or you could make your own little box of chocolates. I decided on getting a 4 count box for my brother’s gift and a chocolate champagne glass with 3 truffles for my other brother and sister-​in-​law. The total for both items came up to $ 12.99 which wasn’t too bad at all. I can certainly see someone spending the amount of an FPL bill in there without even trying but you’re getting quality chocolates so I would definitely say it’s worth it. They wrapped up the champagne glass so beautifully & added a Christmas bow on it for me, making it look extra pretty :-) They also do arrangements for weddings and birthdays!
If you check in to Unilocal and let them know, you get a free chocolate truffle! Who says no to free chocolate??? If you’re looking for nice gift that is unique, head over to Schakolad. They certainly have a knack for making any occasion special with their one-​of-​a-​kind chocolate creations.

OMG this place is to die for. A true chocolate boutique. Deliciously decadent everything chocolate. I had a cup of mocha and some dark chocolate dipped Oreos, white chocolate and pretzels. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. The staff was super friendly and the place cozy and spotless.

I think we must have come in on an off day. The displays were very nice and everything looked wonderful– but we were kind of disappointed with what we got. Nothing really blew us out of the water, which is what I was expecting by the nice looks and prices. The dark chocolate coconut truffle I got didn’t taste fresh and my husband said the same about his pieces. At the chocolate factory I used to work at back home, we typically mark the stale chocolates half price and only sell the fresh pieces at full price. The owner NEVER sold stale chocolate at full price. Overall, I guess it would be a good place to get an interesting gift if you had to go to a party and needed a host/​hostess gift, I will keep them in mind for something like that.

Great chocolates. That about says it. I also like the fact that you can get fun cocktail glasses coated with chocolate. We have a wine that was designed to go with dark chocolate, so for a gift, we got two wine glasses coated in chocolate and paired with the wine.
We first found this chain in Atlanta. The manager there had created a strawberry cream cheese truffle that was one of the best pieces of candy I’ve ever had, and I’m not a fan of «white chocolate.» This location doesn’t have it since they only make their corporate recipes. I don’t get why they can’t add in a new one, especially one that’s really good. That’s why I’m only giving this location 3 stars. You need to be flexible and grow your inventory.

What a beautiful store! The first thing that caught my eye was how absolutely spotless clean and beautifly organized this place is. And then the wonderful smell hit me! The chocolate cases rival some jewelry stores for how beautiful they are. Come to think of it, it’s really hard to concentrate in this place!
Prices are what you would expect for fine chocolates, but the flavor and quality qualifies them to be in that league. I have tried several items. The truffles are my favorite, and the selection is pretty large, so deciding is not easy. They also sell gelato, which is really good. This place specializes in custom orders, and has a large selection of molds. I would say they can do just about anything in chocolate you can think of. One thing I would love to try is the chocolate covered wine bottle. I would absolutely get the champagne cups that are completely covered with chocolate on the inside. I’m thinking cabernet for the wine, and the chocolate has to be dark! I will have to update this review once this fantasy is fulfilled. If my kids were to read this before mother’s day, they should know that I really don’t need another vaccum cleaner!

Stopped by on a whim.
I needed an anniversary gift for my husband and decided to go with white chocolate. 20 minutes later I was the proud owner of a beautiful white chocolate decadent presentation.
The owner was very nice. She put together different types of white chocolate combinations inside an edible white chocolate heart. Yes, he likes white chocolate THAT much. It was about $ 65.00 for the heart and about 18 individual pieces inside fully wrapped with ribbon. They also custom wrote the message on top of the heart cover.
Most importantly, it is absolutely delicious. They also have a small café on the side and hold chocolate making classes as well as events like showers and parties.
Parking was OK for a weekday morning. Might be trickier on the weekends but I would say definitely worth the trip.

Very nice chocolate shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The chocolate is made daily in the front of the store. They have a gelato section and a VARIETY of truffles.
I ordered a couple dozen truffles and a chocolate football (it was the NFL playoffs)
The chocolate was very good. I’m a fan and will come back for valentines day.

I have seen Schakolad while having lunch in the area, and since my anniversary was coming up I decided to go check it out. There is a pretty impressive selection of chocolates and truffles to choose from. They make all of their chocolates in house which is great. I was able to watch one of the girls make some chocolate covered treats on the spot.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful, they made me a basket filled with all dark chocolates (gotta get those antioxidants) while I waited. The basket was the smallest one they had and at under $ 40 I found the price to be pretty reasonable. The basket was filled with chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered oreos (legal crack), and a wide selection of dark chocolate truffles. It was enough for my wife and I to enjoy for the next couple of weeks, although if you are a true chocoholic you may eat it all in a couple of days. My wife and I do not really have a sweet tooth, but I have to admit the stuff is good!
They also had some other interesting items such as chocolate business cards, chocolate roses, and even chocolate handcuffs (for the freaky chocoholics).
I would definitely go back, the chocolates were great and the staff is very friendly. Although if your significant other is a big chocolate fan do not buy too much unless you want them larding out big time…
