Petland Davie

It saddens me to have to write this review. I live right down the street and this has been my go to place for my cat and dog food for the last 4 years. I have come Into his store three times now looking for the dog food I purchase from them on a weekly basis. They have been out of it each time. Each time I spoke to different employees and asked them to order the food that I’ve been buying here for the past two years. They told me that the food isn’t popular, and since no one buys it, they don’t really order it anymore. Am I not a customer?! So last time I was here, I spoke to who I believe is the manager, a bulky guy with a shaved head. He said that he would order me the food, and it should be here last Thursday. Nope not a thing on the shelf. It if wasn’t for Amazon Prime and their two day shipping, my dog would have no food. She is allergic to everything and the food is very specific. The guy did steer me toward a different canned dog food to try to meet my needs, but it is over $ 2.50 per can as opposed to the $ 1.79 per can I was buying. In any event, they are losing my customer loyalty. Get it together Petland!

Just a heads up that 2.7 million pets shelter pets are euthanized every single year due to over population and pet stores. Please adopt your pet from a local shelter. If you have to have a purebred search
to find your specific breed from local rescues and shelters. Cities are starting to ban the retail sales of pets (Hollywood being the most recent) and for good reason. Save a life, adopt.

***PETLAND = PUPPY MILL PUPPIES***Stay away if you want a healthy pup! Purchased a boxer there who is now 3 ½. Brought him to the vet when he was 2 for a problem that has turned out to be an aggressive tumor. After further look a d a CT scan he has a tumors in his stomch, lung and lymphnods. Everyone deserves to know what they are getting when purchasing a dog from there! Poor Bubba never stood a chance! ***PETLAND = PUPPY MILL PUPPIES***

This place is amazing!!! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by tiara who helped me pick out the perfect dog for the family. She was extremely informative and thorough. All the puppies are clean, healthy and happy. I will definitely recommend this location to friends and family.

I’ve been coming to this specific store for a while. I bought my first dog which is a goldendoodle 6 years ago and now I’m looking to buy another dog. When I went in there I asked about the husky in the corner and Kelci, the employee I went to, said I couldn’t hold it cause it had the sign saying it needs rest. Which I can understand. The only reason why I had asked was because the week before one of the employees brought me another husky from the same cage with the same sign saying it needs to rest. But when I saw another husky which had no sign on its cage and asked about it Kelci huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes at me and told me no that it was just sold. I can understand that Its going to a home and everything but there was no need for an attitude especially when I’m looking to buy a dog. Me and my boyfriend still stayed around to try to check out other dogs and she didn’t bother to help us but would help everyone else. I don’t know what her issue was but you don’t treat customers in that manner

Would recommend this store to everyone in search for a new pet to be part of their family. The staff is very knowledgable and willing to help with any questions you have. Their puppies of definitely super cute and hand picked from breeders and come with lots of stuff! The also have obedience classes for puppy training!

This pet store is the worst don’t buy anything from them they are over priced crooks and liars! They run such a shitty business there and there employees don’t know anything about animals.

I just purchased my sheltie puppy from the Davie location, and I could not be happier with the staff and how they take such good care of the animals there. It took me quite some time to decide on which pup was perfect for me. I ended up staying there four hours one night just trying to make sure she was the one for me, and I could not be more amazed at how well their hospitality was by answering all my questions and helping me decide my beautiful sheltie. She was the perfect choice for me, and I thank the staff so much for helping me make that lifetime decision. I will definitely be going back for my next sheltie!

I bought my puppy here and she is a healthy and beautiful, with the best personality. She also had papers from her breeder. My parents also bought their Shetland sheep dog here a few years ago and he is the best dog we have ever owned with no health issues. I’m a huge animal advocate as well and yes, as sad as it is to see these animals in cages, I didn’t see anything wrong with the condition they were in. The girl who helped us was also very knowledge and gave a lot of good advice. I believe her name was Siara! Only 4 stars because it was quite pricey.

My son was given an African spur thigh tortoise otherwise known as a Sulcata as a gift last night. I already had most of the supplies but needed bulbs and a few other things. Not feeling like running to Walmart I decided to come to this store since I’ve never been there before and it was closer. After looking around for about 15 minutes I was finally approached by an employee. I started to tell her that I needed a UVB bulb when she asked me what kind of an animal it was for. I told her its for a spur thigh and she had no clue what that was (spur thighs are the most common tortoise owned as pets), so I told her its a tortoise and again she had a confused look on her face! How can you work in a pet store that sells reptiles, and exotics and not know what a tortoise is? My 2 year old son knows what a freaking tortoise is! So as she continued to try and «help» she couldn’t find a bulb so she proceeded to get a young guy who appeared to be a manager perhaps. They don’t carry UVB bulbs, didn’t have regular thermometers or most other things I needed. I then asked if they have wooden half logs that animals use to hide in so the tortoise could get some shade. That’s when the guy showed me a heat rock. I’m no genius but I’m pretty sure a heat rock and a wood log are very different. I told him I can’t use that for a tortoise, well not even 5 minutes later he showed me something else and said I could use that for my bearded dragon. I don’t have a friggin bearded dragon dude, I told you several times its a TORTOISE! At this point I gave up, got the few things they had and got the heck outta there before my brain exploded. Avoid this place if you are looking for supplies for anything alive.

YUCK. The absolute worst and most disgusting pet store I have ever shopped in my entire life. Puppy mill puppies. Urine and feces everywhere. Even the fish dept was nasty. But what do you expect a pet store to smell like? You might ask. I have been to nearly every pet store in town. Even the Humane Society, which I have reviewed. Out of the hundreds of different pet stores that I’ve been to in my life, this was the #1 worst. I also witnessed the owners committing one of the most obscene acts of animal cruelty I have ever witnessed. During a flea market in their parking lot, they put out bin full of bunnies. It was just before Easter. The bunnies had no food or water. And they were in full sun in the middle of the day. Several of the bunnies were convulsing. One even had his eyeballs rolling backwards. I would be surprised if all of those bunnies made it through the day. I have never witnessed anything that cruel and that negligent

My husband and I purchased our puppy from Petland Plantation and had a great experience. Our puppy, after 2 days, developed kennel cough. However, we took her to the vet and we were told it is very common. He treated her for about 5 days and she is perfectly fine now. I would recommend buying a pet from Petland Plantation. The store was very clean as well as the kennels and the puppies were well taken care of.

After purchasing our first Havanese from Petland in Davie, it was time to find our princess a companion. Although we went to several breeders and pet stores in the area, a Havanese such was ours was nonexistent. We are often stopped and asked about «our spectacular» dog and everyone tells us they have never seen a Havanese like her!!! She has been healthy, happy and beautiful from the day we brought her home 6 years ago when Petland first opened.
So today, we pick up Brody, our new Havanese from Petland from the same store and the same loving store owner. Vicky, thank you for doing what you do so well and for having the most understanding and passionate staff ever.

Pet land in davie is by far the best pet store I have ever walked in. Starting from the smiling faces of the staff to the cutest puppies in south florida. Ashley was the one who helped us and made our experience unforgettable! From start to finish pet land was there every step of the way! I recommended everyone to get there next family member there! Very satisfied!!!

My husband and I looked for months for a puppy and we found a cute little MinPin at Petland in Davie and we purchased her. She looked to be healthy when we bought her but that night when we brought her home she wouldn’t stop coughing. Yes kennel cough is pretty common when buying a puppy from a pet store but it took over 2 months and 4 trips to the vet for her kennel cough to finally go away. Now after having the puppy for 5 months we noticed that she has bald patches starting to appear all over her body and we just got home from the vet to find out she has mange. Mange is hereditary and dogs who have it are not supposed to be bred. I can’t believe that Petland is selling puppies who have all these medical conditions. What kind of breeders are they using? It is ridiculous. Do not buy your puppy at this pet store.

My husband and I frequent the shopping plaza where petland is located and each time we visit the store to check out the puppies, it has become more and more disgusting. The animals are kept in dirty caged which are too small for one puppy and sometimes even two are kept together! The store smells of urine and bleach. The puppies are clearly dirty, greasy and ungroomed. In addition, they are completely overpriced for toys, supplies and the animals. The employees are rude and very unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend shopping at this store especially if you are an animal lover!

Every time (including the LAST time) I’ve visited this store, I’ve felt more and more sorry for the animals that are kept there. The puppies are kept in small cages, sometimes two at a time and on wire floors. Can you imagine sitting/​laying/​living on metal wire for days on end? I can’t. I know it must be very uncomfortable. Not to mention some of them are constantly fighting in the same cage, and I’ve seen them eat each others feces. Not only that but the other animals (birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc) they have out in open cages for people to touch are in my opinion kept in deplorable conditions. Water and food bowls are dirty and empty, and there are gnats flying around. Shame on them for selling animals at such outrageous prices, but on top of it keeping the animals in such crappy conditions. The «staff» that they have, if that’s what you call it are typically younger aged kids (not that age has any relevance on work ethic) that have their friends inside torturing … I mean «playing» constantly with all the animals which has to cause undue stress to them. I will never shop at a Petland store again. Ever.
