The locksmith profession has changed dramatically over the last 15 years. High security locks like BiLock, Medeco and Mul-​T-​Lock have all improved, providing the customer with improved security.

Automotive security has improved with the introduction of transponder keys, also called chip keys. The car’s computer must communicate with the chip in your key in order for the car to start and run. Although the new keys are more expensive, auto theft has been reduced, resulting in lower insurance costs to the consumer. To keep current, locksmiths have had to invest in expensive programmers to duplicate and cut the newer key systems. If you lose all your keys, our professionals come to your car and generate a new key and then program the transponder key to the car. You should always have at least one spare chip key.
