Folks, highly recommended to stay away from their company if you want to avoid misery!

I scheduled a move with Griffin through Allied and originally went with them because they gave me then lowest estimate of the companies I had come out to help us with my dad’s cross country move from FL to CA. Ryan did the estimate and was my main contact at Griffin and was very available and responsive throughout the process.
We had a really difficult move. We were moving my elderly parents from their home they lived in for 58 years, which had become a hoarding situation. Despite the logistical problems, the packing team was able to (with my husband’s help) identify the important items (we had 1−800-junk remove the rest), pack them up and prepare them for moving. They also did a great job protecting two valuable paintings in wooden crates that they built. The team showed up on time and worked extremely quickly and efficiently.
The team loaded the moving truck the next day on time and again, very quickly. We had no problems with time management as other reviewers noted, everything went very smoothly and we were very happy with the service we were provided. In the end, our move estimate ended up being thousands LESS than originally quoted!
Our items got to CA without incident and even earlier than expected. The driver’s team, again, showed up on time and unloaded everything quickly and without incident. I haven’t seen anything damaged so far.
Considering this stressful move, I couldn’t say it could have gone any better. Griffin did a fantastic job for us and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the South Florida area.

We used this company to pack our belongings, load the truck, and to unload the truck into our new home. We unpacked the boxes ourselves. We treated the packing team very, very well by providing lunches and beverages during the whole moving process on both ends. In addition to this, we tipped them very generously at the end of the job, since we felt it was the right thing to do, but also because we had no idea what they had taken from us or did to our stuff. We were so upset to find out, as we finalized our unpacking, that they had stolen money from us. We contacted the guys on the job immediately upon discovering this so that we could avoid needing to inform the higher ups in the company if they’d just admit it and/​or return what they took, however they refused to return any of our calls. We then proceeded to contact the company, which they not only denied that their team stole from us but also refused to reimburse us for. Also, the guy that reassembled our bed put it together so incredibly carelessly by drilling holes where they weren’t before and put the mattress support bars in places that didn’t even make sense or even support the bed. We couldn’t figure out what was wrong with our bed until we finally took the mattresses off and realized what he did. We were in shock. Not only did he put it together carelessly, which almost ruined our $ 4000+ bed, but he also never put the proper supports legs on the bottom, which he jokingly told me during the unloading that he was going to throw in the garbage because he already put the bed together. Come to find out, he never did put the last support leg in place and did indeed throw it in the garbage. Lastly, they were late every time they came over, sometimes by over 1.5hr, which led to them not finishing packing in the proper amount of time on the 1^st day and required additional time on the following days. The tardiness was daily. It’s so frustrating that we treated them so well with meals, beverages, generous tips and still they stole money from us and almost totally ruined our wonderful king sized bed that we needed to reassemble ourselves, which is now missing parts. We just used allied griffin moving to move our house and business from Florida to NC, they were on time and professional on every level.

I have had to move multiple times in the past 10 years. I am familiar with good movers and packers when I see them in action. Several moves have been long distance. Also of note, I would normally pack most of my own stuff, but was working up until the end, my husband was already in our new location and I am pregnant with twins. I did not have the energy or time. Had I known what I know now, I would have found the time and energy. I have never had any problems with my movers or packers until this past move at the beginning of January 2014.
1. My quote was approximately 600 dollars less than what my final payment was. I consider this to be a lot. The events below will likely explain how that cost added up.
2. The packing system was such disarray. I had things in boxes from the master bedroom, kitchen and living room. No organization whatsoever. This made unpacking quite a hassle also.
3. I was told when the person ams to give me an estimate I did not have to empty my dresser drawers or armor, when the packers got there, they told it me it had to be emptied… after they had already started the process.
4. The packer that was in my office/​library area did not communicate with me at all. I asked that he not pack anything from the closet before he spoke with me. There was a significant amount of stuff I was planning on NOT taking. Next thing I know, that entire closet is packed!
5. This same packer took the liberty to unpack my file cabinet drawers. File cabinet drawers!!! I’m not sure what others do, but my file cabinet drawers hold personal and private information. I did not appreciate a total stranger unloading the drawers and putting them in a box without my awareness or consent.
6. One guy talked way too much.
7. One packer/​mover tried to tell me my furniture was cheap by banging on the inside drawers. Whether or not my furniture is cheap (I personally don’t think it is), I do to appreciate the disrespectfulness that was displayed by banging on my furniture, especially when these are people who are suppose to be careful and not break your stuff.
8. This same packer/​mover tried to demonstrate to me that he had packed some glassware and a glass light fixture well by kicking the box and banging a wrapped glass in his hand. Again, disrespectful and rude. And apparently the packing wasn’t so great as I had a 4 items broken upon arrival.
9. The plan was one day to pack, one to load truck, one to drive (5 hour drive), one day to unpack). One packer/​mover seemed disgruntled by this and made a comment similar to «well, it’s an inconvenience for us, but I guess that’s what we have to do»…yeah, great customer service there.
10. There was such inefficiency to the packing and use of tissue paper and boxes. i.e. toothpick that were wrapped in a football size bundle of tissue paper, 1 small lamp shade in a large box by itself…
11. But I realized their inefficiency was to their benefit… I was charged by the number of boxes and the weight… so more tissue paper to wrap an item, oops, need more boxes, more boxes and more paper all add up on the scale.
When we finally unpacked everything, and flattened the boxes and tissue paper and took it to the dump in FOUR loads in my SUV (I came from a 1200 sq ft apartment… I don’t have a ton of stuff), it weighed over 500 pounds… on just boxes and paper… yeah, no wonder my final cost was so much more than the estimate.
12. Also a couple of random items missing once completely unpacked… like a 4^th glass to a set of 4, a couple of other glass items… I’m guessing they broke when they were packing and they did not have the decency to tell me. Very very frustrating.
As I said, I have never been so disappointed with a moving company and would NEVER recommend this company to anybody.
