Specialties

CASI specialized in meeting the everyday needs of today’s older adult. We provide over 7,400 activities annually that help older adults age successfully. Our highly trained and qualified staff offer information/​referral and resources to assist older adults remain independent. CASI provides Eastern Iowa’s only comprehensive Senior Center and the only Adult Day Services program geared towards those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, stroke or brain injuries.

History

Established in 1973.

CASI first opened it’s doors in 1973 in response to the emerging needs of older adults in the downtown Davenport area. In 1980, CASI opened the state’s first Adult Day Services program; serving individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Over the past 40+ years, CASI has grown to become the region’s premier, comprehensive Senior Center; offering over 7,400 activities annually.

Meet the Business Owner

Laura K.

Business Owner

Laura Kopp, President/​CEO of the Center for Active Seniors, Inc. was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kent State University in Ohio and her Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Laura joined the Quad Cities community 10 years ago, when she relocated from the south Florida area with her husband, who was born and raised in northwest Davenport. Laura has been with CASI since 2013. Her most recent positions included Vice President of Programs with Goodwill of the Heartland, Director of Children’s Trauma Services with the Child Abuse Council and Director of Clinical Services for Family Resources, Inc. Laura has spent the entirety of her career working within the not for profit sector and was recognized as one of the Quad Cities Area Leaders Under 40 by Blackhawk College in 2007.
