Someone tried to break into our room!
Driving across country from CA to MA last week we stopped here for a rest. It’s off the beaten path so there was room in the parking lot to park our moving truck and trailer. My husband went inside to check in and while I waited for him in the parking lot I noticed a car full of thugs circling the other parked cars and one guy kept getting out and walking in and out of the front office, leaving his «forty» just outside the door each time. The whole thing was bizarre and the guy was CLEARLY on something (much stronger than alcohol.) He was also with some strange girl and both of them carried their clothes and belongings in trash bags. We were surprised that the manager actually checked these people in, especially since the other guests had children and young families in the lobby.
When we got to our room we made the discovery that someone had gone #2 in the toilet and it hadn’t been flushed or cleaned yet! We called the manager and he came up and cleaned it explaining the termite guy must have done it???
About 5 minutes after he left someone tried to bust into our room! When I looked out the peep hole who did I see? Oh yeah the thug who was clearly on something and shouldn’t have been allowed to check in to begin with. Shocking. My husband called out to him and the guy immediately started jiggling the door harder and then yelled back «my bad, I got the wrong room.» As I watched him through the peep hole he and his girlfriend darted toward the lobby, then came back to our door tried the door knob again and then bolted down hallway the opposite way!
We looked out the window to see if the car full of his friends was still on site and you bet they were! In fact, they were now circling our moving truck and trailer. We knew at that point the whole purpose of him coming to our door was just to confirm we were in that particular room and they’d surely be back. We RAN… did not walk… RAN the hell out of that room with all of our belongings. We gave the key to the manager and told him someone tried to break into our room. He just stared at us and offered no comment or action.
We ran through the parking lot to our truck and drove another 100 miles to a safer location.
I know the economy is tough but there is NO reason whatsoever to allow a person who is clearly under the influence (and up to no good) to check in to your hotel when you are putting the other PAYING guests at risk.
DO NOT STAY HERE!

Very impressed! I felt a little hesitant about this place but happy with my decision. They shipped my phone to me!!! The forgetful person that I am didnt realize that I didn’t have till I was 3 hours away. Also the lady at the front desk is from Philly!!! Philly in the house!!! Also I liked the beds!!!
