This place is amazing! These doctors are the best! The staff is so friendly and helpful! They have amazing brands (Tom Ford, Gucci, Valentino, Oliver Peoples, etc.) They work with your insurance and they are very thorough.

I went to Visual Expressions Optometry over the weekend to get an exam for eyeglasses. I left extremely happy with the service I received at this office.
I felt very welcome from the first moment I walked in to the office. I was greet by Stephanie and Irene with a welcoming smile on their faces and quickly to assist me. I saw Dr. Khayatan for my exam, and she was thorough and friendly. I gotta say… She is probably one of the best optometrists I’ve every been to. In addition, her staff was very nice and knowledgable. I got exceptional service from her office manager, Tiffany. I didn’t feel pressured into purchasing eyewear at all. I do have to say they do have a wide variety of eyeglasses and sunglasses with different styles to fit every face and very reasonable price. If they don’t have it in the office you can always ask the staff to order the pair for you. They also have lab on site that quicker turn around. They took their time to help you pick out the best style frames fit best to your face shape. They explained all the options for you before you make your decision. They went beyond any of my requests to check in with my insurance to make sure I was getting everything I could out of my coverage.
At the end of my visit, I ended with a brand new pair Lindberg eyeglasses and as well as Tomford sunglasses which I absolutely love. I definitely think they have something for everyone since their selection of glasses is huge ranging from designer frames to more affordable options.
Very few places will have as amazing service as Visual expressions optometry, I highly recommend dropping by if you’re in search of a new optometrist.

I love coming for my eye exam. Everyone is very kind, sincere and helpful. Dr. Khayatan gives a thorough exam and answers all my questions. She also offers great suggestions and is never pushy. She’s an excellent Optometrist!

They repaired my glasses that couldn’t be fixed elsewhere. Although I didn’t buy the glasses from them they fixed them for free while I waited. I’m going to buy my next pair from them.

I had such a great experience at this office! The office is beautiful. It is so clean and well-​decorated. Everyone was so professional and friendly. Lisa at the front desk was so welcoming and polite. Then I had my pre-​test with Stephanie and she took the time to explain to me each step of the process and was extremely patient with me. My full eye exam was with Dr. Fleming and she made me feel so comfortable and was so thorough to make sure that my prescription was perfect as I have been having some problems with my eyes as I look at the computer most of the day for my job. She also checked me for any early signs of any eye problems as well to make sure to have an early diagnosis if anything was wrong. I have never had such a good experience with a doctor and I am also in the medical field. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Khayatan while I was in the office and she was also just as pleasant as Dr. Fleming. I would never go anywhere else for any of my eye care needs. They also have such a great selection of eye glasses. I was able to find the cutest Tom Ford glasses and at a far better price than I have seen elsewhere. After my exam, Tiffany walked me through all of my insurance coverage information. I have never had anyone go over this with me before and it really topped of the experience. I could not imagine a better experience or a better staff. The quality of service well exceeded my expectations. I cannot wait to get my glasses and to see all of the staff of Visual Expressions at my next eye exam. I would highly recommend them and have already recommended some family and friends to the office already. Thank you for the great eye exam and service! :)

Very friendly place, I enjoyed my visit.

I have been coming to Visual Expressions for over 5 years now and I can say I am truly pleased with the service I have received during that time. Not only is Dr. Khayatan patient and attentive to my concerns I can tell she genuinely cares. One key event that reassured me was after having a change in my prescription and difficulty adjusting which caused headaches, Dr. Khayatan was very attentive about helping me find a solution. After a lens change and wearing my new prescription for a couple months I can see improvements in my reading duration without headaches and irritation which is a huge relief.
Another shout out goes to the Visual Expressions team. I must have tried on every pair of frames before I found the right one and the girls were so helpful and patient. Although I can say I feel guilty, the girls were nothing but polite and I appreciate that I wasn’t rushed. Also being that I didn’t have insurance I was concerned about the cost but I was able to get some cute Gucci frames at a reasonable price which made my day.

My family and I have been coming to Visual Expressions for the past 3 years and have always had a great experience.
Dr. Khayatan is great! She is very patient and trustworthy. I’ve gone to Optometrists in the past that have misguided me into expensive unnecessary tests with hidden fees and with Dr. Khayatan, I’ve had nothing but a positive and honest experience. My vision has barely changed the past 2 years, and we both agree that there is no reason to get new lenses. How nice to walk out of my appointment this week with my original frames/​scripts that I purchased two years ago and not have to spend an exorbitant amount on frames (because I have two scripts). I did however, indulge in beautiful new sunglasses … they carry a really nice selection of glasses to choose from, and I couldn’t resist!
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. K and her staff, not only is she very thorough, but very warm with a caring demeanor. Her staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well, and I appreciate that I have never felt rushed while either on the phone with them, or in their office.
I highly recommend this practice!

I have never reviewed on Unilocal before, but I am making a point to do so to support Visual Expressions. I entered today as a first time patient. I typically hate going to any type of medical office as I tend to wait for the doctor, even when I arrive on time for my appointment. As I was checking in, I simply stated to the receptionist, Tiffany, that I was in a time-​crunch and, in turn, the entire staff catered to my rushed schedule, even Dr. Khayatan! It was so refreshing to see an entire medical office care about its patient’s schedule. Many healthcare providers I have interacted with fail to recognize patients as their clients; however, I was made to feel like the most valued individual in Dr. Khayatan’s office. I recommend Visual Expressions as the practice treats its customers with professionalism.

I highly recommend this establishment for so many reasons. I will start by saying that I look forward to my visits. Dr. Khayatan makes things easy breezy all the while explaining every single detail as she works. They have recently welcomed a new Dr. into the practice and with my schedule, it turned out my exam was performed by her. Her name is Dr, Flemming and I Il admit that I was apprehensive because I adore Dr Khayatan, however I was quickly put at ease after one minute into my appt. Again, easy breezy and dare I say fun? ok thats already so much to love, right? WELL, enter Alyna. She knows her stuff. So helpful, fashionable and knowledgable on frames, shapes and faces. She is also welcoming and fun to work with. My one and only regret would be that I want everything in sight in there… lol omg the inventory is amazing… Thanks ladies! Oh and shout out to Lisa at the front desk. Thank you for explaining everything to this anxious patient! great staff all around…

Found Dr. Khayatan through my Ins Provider and as luck would have it her practice is located in Bkackhawk just a mile or so down the road from me.
I made an appointment for my annual eye exam and made it in the following week. I was very pleased with how I was greeted by the staff and made to feel relaxed. The whole experience felt very personal and I love that they require ‘Appointments’ because it gives a very personalized experience… reminded me of being in a shop off of Maiden Lane in SF with a Private Shopper. While I waited for my exam I perused the selection and was happy to see that the styles they carried were definitely me… except for ‘Juicy couture’ and the glaring absence of Dior, Versace or Dolce & Gabana, however the Tom Fords and the Roberto Cavalli’s more than compensated! When I met Dr. Khayatan to begin my exam I was a little bit nervous, but her warm smile and pleasant demeanor made me feel relaxed and her background and overall involvement in the Optometric Industry added a sense of security that I could trust her to help with my «Optometric Challenges’…my left eye is ‘Near Sighted’ and my right eye is ‘Far Sighted’ and both having ‘Astigmatism’!!! I mentioned this to her as well as my anxiety as we began the exam and then we reached the part of the exam which I hate since it is when your eyeball is numbed and «tested»! This is the part where I am so glad she has experience working with Children because it sure took patience to finish that part of the test! God Bless her! LOL!
That part completed, I was introduced to Alyna who is quite an energetic character! She made the Frame choosing a lot more interesting than I expected and helped me focus my final decision on some killer MiuMiu’s for daily wear and Roberto Cavalli sunglasses for driving.
After being advised of the timeframe for both glasses to be completed, some issues came up with the lab that provided the lenses for which delayed the arrival of the Sunglasses. Being a Senior Technical Consultant and working for companies such as Apple, Inc and Cognizant I am a strong believer in delivering on set expectations. I was very pleased when Dr. Khayatan stepped in, made no excuses and did what had to be done to ensure I was happy with the whole experience. Something I am very familiar with when dealing with clients on a daily basis when deliverables aren’t met. I admire Dr. Khayatan’s proactive thinking and respect not just as an experienced Optometrist but also as a savvy Business Woman! I highly recommend her and Josette Hoffman you are coming with me to the ‘Mixer’ on ⁴⁄₁₇ and getting your eyes checked! LOL! Very please with how everything turned out that I am finalizing options on a 3^rd pair of glasses and also bringing in a couple vintage glasses to have new lenses put it.

Super pushy sales lady! Very aggressive. She was extremely pushy on me buying $ 500+ sunglasses.
* please note owner eye doctor is a sweet person, friendly and exam went well.
She just needs a new sales/​front person so you don’t loose business.

Simply would not go anywhere else! Dr Khayatan is amazing and her staff Jessica! Selin! and Alyna always treat me with the world class service! there are many other options for eye care, but in my option anywhere else would be down grade to the level of care and seamless process you receive from Visual Expressions. I’m on my third pair of eyes and will be a customer for life. I really appreciate the line of vendors they choose i.e. Ovliver’s people, Prada, Ray Ban etc and the state of art technology they use. I believe your exception will be excessed as mine have for the past three years!

Dr. Khayatan and her crew (Alyna and Lisa)…You guys are just awesome! Been coming here since 2011 and have loving it so much. This is such an excellent optometry center… I wouldn’t ask for more. Customer Service is excellent and luv the follow-​up individual recognition. …we are not just another patient/​customer. …we are treated very well. It seems that i am experiencing many firsts with Seline:
1) The first time that I have been unhappy with a product and the vendor would not even mediate
2) This is my first negative review on Unilocal
3) My first time in small claims court. By the way I prevailed and yet Seline still refuses to make it right. She has appealed and we will return again to court in Feb. She is trying to get the ruling in my favor reversed. Unlikely, since a vendor in CA must post a policy clearly if they are not going to exchange problem products.
It is important that I provide other clarifications too:
I was instructed by Seline’s staff that I could not choose the same manufacturer and HAD to change suppliers.
My insurance company told her they would provide the lens for free if she would replace the problem frames
Her offer to discount new frames came at the last minute.
I paid a very high price for the glasses and am still surprised that Seline would not even mediate a resolution.
It is a mystery why I had the allergic reaction to those frames. I have purchased new glasses that have worked out fine and it has never happened before. It is not Seline’s fault that the glasses did not work for me. The nature of a good vendor is apparent only when there is a problem. Her refusal to correct the problem or honor the courts ruling is a bigger mystery.

I started going to Visual Expressions several years ago when my current optometrist in my city no longer accepted the insurance I had. At the time, I asked my optometrist for a referral and she referred me to Dr. K. At first, I was a little weary since the office was all the way in Danville but after my first visit I knew the drive was worth it. Dr. K is great and her office is very nice. She has high-​end optical equipment and it was a step above my previous eye doctor’s equipment that looked like it had been there for decades. I also like how Dr. K has the latest styles in designer eye wear. I have to say I’ve been a happy patient of Dr. K for years and look forward to my eye exam each year.

I wanted to like it here. I tried to like it here. In fact this is a hard review to write and I almost didn’t write it, because I do like Dr. Khayatan personally, but the overall experience was just meh, and led me to another Optometrist.
Yes, I would agree with some of the reviewers that the service and attitude can be very different from visit to visit with the receptionist. Some times she was chatty and nice, other times cold as ice. I’m guessing she’s stressed and busy when she’s icy, but it really does come off as rude.
Gillian has always been great and polite and so has Dr. Khayatan. On a personal level, I liked her a lot BUT…
for the first time in probably 10 years I came in to get new glasses. I usually do contacts since I only wear my glasses a couple times a week in the evening at home, but I figured it was time for a new pair.
#1-​Frames are not cheap here. They definitely try to keep with the Blackhawk Plaza standard pricing and brands… which makes me laugh since the BP can’t keep a company in business for more than 2 years, so maybe these companies need to realize that even Blackhawk people don’t want to pay premiums for anything, but that’s another post…
So, fine. Whatever I get new frames once a decade, so I get a pair of Gucci frames.
#2-​Dr. K does my eye exam and tells me my prescription is wrong. Tweaks it, and then orders my glasses.
They come in and I can tell something is wrong with one lens. I just can’t see out of it.
So I bring it in and receptionist acts like I’m a lying liar and says it must be my fault.
Luckily, Gillian comes out and takes it back and says, nope, she’s right, the lens was cut wrong… so back it goes to get fixed.
#3-​Glasses come back with lens re-​cut and «fixed» yet I still can’t see out of them. I can’t see words on the TV, I can’t see any detail.
I call and again receptionist acts like I’m a lying liar but leaves a message for Dr. K who calls and says my brain is just not used to looking through this prescription, give it time.
So I do. I really tried to let my «brain adjusts». I wore them every night to watch TV to see if it would click but I realized 3 weeks later, I can’t see out of the damn glasses and I discover this when I driving… at night.
So I go back again. She does her eye exam and says, well this IS what your prescription is, but if you want us to re-​do the lenses back to your old and wrong prescription we will do that.
Ok, prescription might be wrong but I can actually SEE with them, so yes please. Let’s end this nightmare of me coming in weekly to tell you I can’t see out of my glasses and you telling me that my brain is stupid and can’t communicate with my eyes.
#4-​So life is good in my old and wrong prescription until 1 year goes by and I start getting the calls to come in for my annual exam. I don’t answer them. So they start leaving messages TELLING ME what time my not made appointment is. Again, I ignore.
So after 1 year, and them realizing I’m not coming back, I get a bill in the mail for my services. REALLY? A bill 1 year later after you realize I’m not coming back. No, that isn’t suspicious at all…
So, while I like Dr. K as a person, the repeated feeling of being treated like a lying liar with a dumb brain was enough for me not to return.
