History

Established in 1973.

Established in 1973 Valet Custom Cabinets & Closets today is the result of the 2005 union of Eurodesign Ltd. and Valet Closet and Garage Organizers. Eurodesign Ltd., founded in 1973, was an early pioneer in the field of custom built-​in home furniture, and Valet, founded in 1988, was one of the original companies to enter what has become the closet and home organization phenomenon. Both companies established reputations for quality and service, and became known as industry leaders for product innovation. In 2000, renamed the company Valet Organizers in order to encompass its rapidly expanding furniture line. The company continued to grow and in 2005 Valet acquired the assets of Eurodesign, Ltd., which further expanded its custom cabinetry business. The company has continued to evolve and has started out 2010 with the renaming of its core business to Valet Custom Cabinets & Closets.

Larry is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Business. After receiving his degree he returned to the Bay Area and spent 18 years working in his family’s long established metals recycling business. Larry and his wife have owned Valet Custom Cabinets & Closets since 2000, and Larry remains as enthusiastic about the business today as he was when he first acquired it.

Valet custom cabinets really lives up to their name! We ended up with the perfect walk-​in closet for our space.
Our experience with Valet started in the showroom in Campbell. The lady who works in the showroom (didn’t get her name) was very nice, polite, and helpful welcomed into the showroom and offered to show us around. We were told that one of their designers, Janet, would be contacting us within 48 hours to schedule an appointment for design. Sure enough, Janet sent us an email and an appointment was scheduled for the following Saturday.
Janet showed up at our house exactly on time and immediately started trying to figure out exactly what we were looking for. Janet measured our closet and went over a bunch of ideas with us. The appointment took about an hour and she told us she would meet us the next Saturday to go over drawings and specs. (I’m sure they could have gotten through the process a little faster but we are only available on Saturdays).
The second meeting was wonderful. Janet had taken the time to create SEVERAL blueprints for us to pick from and she had some really great ideas and out-​of-​the-​box thinking. We signed off on the drawings and were told that the installation would be in 3 weeks!!! Way sooner than we had anticipated.
Vance (installer) was awesome. He was clean, fast (the whole installation took 4 hours… total!) and very professional. There was a little glitch in the install, the shop had forgotten to give Vance a few trim pieces but he did what he could, drove the 45 min. to the shop and 45 min. back to our house same day, so he could complete the install which he did!
All in all we are VERY satisfied with the finished product and would recommend this company to all of our friends and family who are looking for custom cabinets.

I had some ideas in mind about how I wanted my home office but fortunately Jerry evaluated my situation and came up with something even better! We also were lucky to have Marcial and Guillermo for the installation, which was a breeze. Overall, we could not be happier with the results.

From start to finish I could not be more satisfied I shopped around before purchasing my wallbed and Valet Custom Cabinet and Closets stood head and shoulders above all others. Friendly, no BS sales and consultation, product quality and installation — Salvador and Fernando were totally professional in every way — on time, did their work, cleaned up and with a pleasant «good bye» they were .gone. Exceptional craftsmanship, professionalism and attitude. We looked at many custom cabinet providers after we had our initial discussion with Larry (owner) but none could match the design details and ideas as Larry. I am really glad that we went with
Valet Custom Cabinets & Closets for our walk-​in and reach-​in closet and they came out to be exceptionally well made and exactly as per design. Excellent communication starting from design to installation.
Vance and Don did the installation, they were polite, accommodating and finished the work on time. They even cleaned after themselves and sanitized the closets.

This is a new review. We wanted to find a piece for our dining room that offered storage and a wine fridge. if you’ve ever searched for something like this, you’ll quickly find out there’s not much available. We met with Jerry Archer and came up with the perfect design and Valet Custom created cabinetry that matched our existing furniture (I was able to approve the stain color). Their installers are terrific and were able to snake the power plug thru the cabinet so it’s completely hidden and scribe the top to perfectly fit our wall. The unit has pull out shelves as well as fixed shelves. Couldn’t be happier! Another great job Valet. Thanks Jerry.

When we needed a pull out bed and book case solution for one of our bedrooms, we contemplated buying from a SF contemporary furniture to have it made in Italy. However, as I knew that anything from Europe would take a while and I wanted it customized for the space that it might be a better idea to find a local company to work with. Luckily, I was able to find a company just minutes from my house. Valet Customs has a small showroom in Danville and while their showcased cabinets were a bit more traditional for my taste, the lead designer Jerry Archer was willing and enthusiastic to collaborate with me on my ideas.
As I understand, most designs are completed within a few meetings, Jerry and I must have met more than a ½ dozen times. He was extremely helpful and patient with the tools that were at his disposal. I always felt that I had a trust worthy partner. A couple of months later, the Valet team came in and did a very professional job in installing the project. We are now the proud owner of a beautiful wall bed/​desk/​book case. When it comes to quality work, you will want to work with a competent and professional team who will not leave you hanging. I would highly recommend Jerry and the team at Valet for your cabinet and closets needs. You can find cheaper discount shops but as in many things in life, if you want the best go with Valet.

Our laundry room was in serious need of an upgrade, and Valet exceeded all expectations — completely transforming the room from a bare, ugly space into a beautiful and functional laundry room, including adding multiple cabinets, a two-​level wraparound countertop, a cover for the washer and dryer, and a drying rack. We are extremely happy with the result.
The space itself was a challenge: slanting, uneven floors, a low ceiling, a concrete foundation protruding from the floorline, a window in an impractical location, and gas lines, plumbing, and electrical work all in inconvenient positions — none of which made for an easy fix. Jerry tackled the task, taking careful measurements of every aspect of the room, pouring over the details, and thinking through all the potential logistical issues that could potentially complicate the project.
After weeks and weeks of planning, multiple lengthy phone calls, consults with his engineering team, and a few site visits, Jerry came up with a set of plans — including detailed instructions for the plumber and the electrician — that would be put into action. He then set his manufacturing team into action, and in a few short weeks, the installation team executed the plan flawlessly and installed the entire room in a few short hours.
I can’t express how impressed I was with Jerry’s careful planning, his attention to detail, and his thoughtfulness. His installation team did extremely careful work, with quality workmanship, and the end result is a completely transformed room — all within a very reasonable budget.
I highly recommend Jerry and the rest of the Valet team for custom projects, if you want quality work at a reasonable price.

We just re-​did our son’s bedroom with Valet. We were so overdue, our son is 10 years old and still had his baby’s room. The bedroom is really small (6′ X 8′) so by the time we would have added a couple of pieces of furniture it would have been too crowded in there. So, we researched different places, not just through Unilocal,and decided to check Valet to see what kind of options we had. We met Jerry who helped us with the design and he also gave us some good suggestions on the room and space. He patiently helped us with all the details and took plenty of measures from different angles to make sure we had enough space for whatever we wanted to add, since the space was so limited. Well, the room is done now and it looks bigger than it was before: corner design with desk and full wall bed, plus a new system closet (we still had the original old closet). The quality is very nice and will last a long time. The crew guys were very nice and careful during the installation. We had a couple of things that needed to be adjusted and they were properly and timely taken care by Scott, the owner. Definitely this almost custom-​fit furniture was the best solution for us: plenty of room and efficiency of space that we needed. The reach in closet makes the small spaces used to its last inch and looks much more organized. Finally my son will have many years to come to enjoy his room and his own space. We would definitely consider using Valet again for any other future projects in our house.

Thank You to the team at Valet! I love my big walk-​in closet! It took a little time to get the design right but in the end, it is all worth it. Kevin and Vance, my installers were not only fast and professional, but, on the spot, added a grommet where I needed one to make my life easier. Great Job guys! After it was all finished and the installers had gone, I found that some of my long hanging clothes were touching the floor. Larry, the owner, personally came out the following day and raised the clothes rod and shelf to better accommodate my wardrobe. He also made other minor adjustments that now allow everything to operate smoothly. I’m thrilled and will be referring my Real Estate clients to Valet for their custom closet needs.

Jerry with Valet Custom Cabinets is the person you need to contact for your cabinet needs. We took a nontraditional approach to designing our media wall and Jerry worked with our home designer and the home theatre company (First Reflection Audio Visual) to create a cabinet that ended up being more beautiful than we ever would have imagined.
Jerry was attentive to all of our needs from start to finish, and the installation crews are professional and their work is impeccable.

My girlfriend and I spent a lot of time talking to a couple of different cabinet companies for our bedroom project and we’re happy we went with Valet.
Jerry and his team went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. I was also very impressed with the efficiency and attention to detail of the installation crew.
We had an idea of what we wanted before we went to the show room. When we met with Jerry in the showroom he looked at our plans and gave us a lot of great suggestions that we didn’t even think about.
Jerry asked for all of our use cases and suggested cost effective solutions. When we were talking about adding drawers he asked if we really needed them because they would be pretty expensive and suggested we just go with shelves.
After we met in the show room Jerry came over to take measurements and gave some color suggestions based on other colors we had in the house. Since we lived in a condo he also pre-​planned a good way to get the materials to our floor so we and the installers had an easy time.
Before signed off on the project Jerry sent us a final rendering and went over all the details and made sure we were happy with it.
It took a couple of weeks to get the cabinets built. When they were ready Jerry’s assistant coordinated an installation date with us.
On the day of the installation I worked from home to help the installation crew if they needed anything. I liked that the installation crew laid down blankets from our front door all the way to the bedroom where they would be working. They didn’t leave a trace from any of the work they did. They asked us a couple of questions here and there to make sure certain pieces of the cabinets were positioned the way we’d like them. It was really thoughtful of them.
The installation took about 2 – 3 hours. After they were done they cleaned up, let us check out the cabinets and even gave us a few extra shelf holding pins in case we lost any down the line.
Overall I am VERY happy I chose to work with Jerry and his team. They were professional from start to finish and worth every cent. I’m looking forward to working with them on future projects.

I truly love dressing now and that’s primarily because of my walk-​in closet — thanks to Jerry and Valet!!! My very first thought when I stepped into my walk-​in closet was, «it’s a must have for every person;» dressing now is an experience and a joy instead of it being a routine boring thing in the morning.
In this day and age of fast and cheap, it was refreshing to find Valet, which offers design in it’s true sense, knowledge requiring intricate details and precise measurements, customizes to one’s wardrobe, guarantees quality, and provides excellent customer service.
I worked with Jerry who amazed me with his patience while being polite and professional. He encouraged my ideas, helped me understand the features so that I figured out what I wanted, produced a design that’s aesthetically beautiful and practical to use, patiently explained all the details, timely returned my phone calls, thoroughly went through every detail including the smallest detail such as pulls and knobs, and finally delivered a spectacular and an enjoyable product!!! As previously mentioned, he stopped by during installation and when a problem presented because of a builder’s poor choice, he came up with a quick solution and didn’t charge us additional money for the extra materials. I’m extremely happy with the result and would recommend and hire Valet for another project in a heartbeat!!!

I just finished a complete renovation of my master closet with Valet. My interior designer recommended them and she was correct. I had no idea how much thought and planning went into the process and really needed and wanted to work with someone who had years of successful experience in the field. That person was Jerry! He was incredibly detailed orientated, listened precisely to what I wanted and had a multitude of good ideas. He was patient and never got irritated with my questions. This company is top notch and I will use them again and refer anyone I know to them who wants a gorgeous closet. They are not inexpensive but the finished product is worth the cost. The install was 3 days and seamless Mark and Zoltan were competent, trustworthy and unobtrusive. It was really important to me to be able to leave them in my house and trust them there. You can and this is invaluable.
I am very appreciative for my new closet and the team at Valet.

We were fortunate to read the reviews on Unilocal about Valet Closets when we started our master bedroom remodel. After meeting with Jerry we decided to go with Valet Closets– one of the best decisions we made. Have done 3 projects with them so far and results have been spectacular
Walked in to their showroom with few ideas. Jerry and his assistant made us very comfortable. Jerry took the time to understand what we are looking for and provided design balancing what looks good and our needs are. He came to do all measurements and was very through in the design.
We got a Linen closet, an in wall entertainment center and then cabinets in garage.
All 3 projects were installed as promised with Jerry checking back after a month to ensure all is well.
Based on Jerrys suggestion we got the garage painted prior to install of cabinets and that changed the look to much more warmer feel than what we had.
Thank you Jerry and Valet team. You rock.

Valet installed a walk-​in closet system for my 7yr old’s room. I visited the showroom with approximate measurements and tentative design. Jerry and his assistant suggested minor revisions. They were both nice and pleasant to work with. Our installer was efficient and pleasant as well. Everything was left clean and ready to add my daughter’s things. After a few weeks, I decided that I wanted to add an extra hanging bar and shelves. Jerry was nice enough to drop it by my home at no additional charge.
I have had several closet systems installed in previous homes. The quality of Valet is consistent with those. So, we were satisfied. The only negative is their installation scheduling. It took several weeks to have it installed. Wish they would hire more installers.
