I found Diablo Iron after calling around as I needed a courtyard gate. They were the most reactive to my calls which was a good start. I had requirements which Karen asked for and she came up with a perfect design to go with the rest of my door and windows. After some time, they were finally able to get to my project and it went like a breeze. The gate was gorgeous and I love it! Very professional company and I would recommend them to anyone.

We wanted to put a gate in at the end of our long driveway but we were having trouble finding a reliable gate manufacturer who was responsive. After noticing a neighbor having a gate installed in our Piedmont neighborhood, we asked about the source — it was Diablo Iron. With the help of John we designed a gate that is spectacularly beautiful. The service was dependable and outstanding. John and Karen were extremely pleasant to work with.

Diablo iron designed and installed a gate for my front patio. Karen came by first to show options and measure in order to design the gate and quote the estimate. Then they came out to get more detailed measurement. Installation followed without a hitch. Final invoice matched the estimate. Very pleased with my new gate.

After moving, we decided to add an automated security gate for driveway and pedestrian walkway gate. We were concerned that our new home not look like a fortress or a prison so must report how incredibly happy we are with the results. Karen in the office managed the schedule and communication really efficiently. John oversaw and helped with design and color. We used Gray from Benjamin Moore and got the softer look we were trying to achieve. They tied the gate into existing deer fencing and they were very careful w our plants and walkways. Perhaps the very best part was their gate electrical specialist who was able to organize the codes and make the gate do amazing tricks. We are 100 percent happy with design, color, service, and usability. We would highly recommend Diablo Iron.

Diablo Iron did a quality job designing, building and installing hand-​rails on our stairs. They were easy to contact, fast to respond and understanding with delays on our end. Diablo Iron constructed and installed an Ornamental Iron Railing on our side deck for us. I found some examples of their work on the website Houzz and called them to inquire about a quote to build and install a patio railing for us. My husband and I were extremely impressed with the entire process. The way they handle providing a quote made it quite efficient. They were able to construct and install the railing in a very timely fashion. The work was done professionally and the finished product was perfect. We’re VERY impressed with the end result! We ended up paying more than we originally intended to pay for the railing but the end result far exceeded our expectations. It looks great and really adds a level of sophistication to the patio. Karen was extremely helpful. I found Diablo Iron through a Google search and sent an email regarding my request for a driveway gate. She wrote back asking where I was located to determine if my area was in their scope. When I called she let me know that my city is outside of their service area, but she allowed me to tell her about the job and get some advice over the phone. I told Karen which companies I had spoken with and she gave me a recommendation for which company she thought would be able to handle our job the best. Even though her company was not going to get my business she still took the time to help me out and give me advice. It has been hard to find a company for the job we want to do and Karen’s time on the phone with me was extremely beneficial. I know that if Diablo Iron were able to take my job they would be great because they are so responsive.

These folks are not always easy to get on the phone — It would be better if they were more readily available via a published cell phone number. However, if you are persistent, you’ll get their full attention to your project.

With toddler grandkids moving to the Bay Area on short notice, we called Diablo Iron in desperate need of an attractive iron fence installed around our pool, and installed quickly. Karen and John are the owners, and Karen couldn’t have been more understanding, accommodating, and helpful. She moved her schedule around for us and in less than 10 days, husband John and son Sam were at our house to install everything. But that was just the beginning of our great experience. They are a family business with family values. When John and Sam saw the drop off between our concrete patio and dirt landscaping was going to leave a gap at the bottom of the fence a child could technically, even though not easily, crawl through, they went to work figuring out how to create a decorative addition to the bottom rails that would ensure all curious little ones remained safe. Sam came up with an attractive solution that both preserved the look of the fence and sealed the gap… all without any extra charge. Their commitment to their customers goes beyond the money involved in the job. Finally, they are craftsmen, not workmen, and our fence is perfect. Sam spent hours making sure everything aligned perfectly, checking that every tiny scratch was perfectly touched up, and that our yard and patio were left in the same condition as when they arrived… except for the addition of a beautiful new iron fence we couldn’t be happier with. If I could give them 10 stars I would. They are special people with a great company and product.

We hired Diablo Iron to put in our new automatic driveway gates and some matching iron fencing and pedestrian gates. The craftsmanship and service were excellent! The design of the gates turned out so nice. There are so many decisions to be made for automatic gates. It seemed overwhelming at first but with their help we got through the process and everything turned out great. John was able to coordinate his work with the other subs that were working on our new landscaping so everything went smoothly. We couldn’t be happier and get many compliments from our neighbors!

We contacted Diablo Iron at the suggestion of our landscape contractor. We first worked with Karen on the type of design we needed, and they beautifully executed it. We have a very high retaining wall that we wanted to put a railing on for safety, but didn’t want it to obstruct the view. We also needed a stair rail down to a lower part of our property for safety reasons as well, and although the railing is simple, it was beautifully executed and followed the curves of the land/​retaining wall beautifully. We are very happy with the result and would highly recommend them.

Recently had two garden gates installed, Karen and John were very helpful in the design and installation issues. The gates were built and installed in a very timely manner. The installers were great, very neat and efficient!
We couldn’t be-​happier with the end product and results.

Diablo really came though on an emergency job for one of my customers.

I had a rocky time getting a quote from Diablo Iron for a handrail. I had a railing with some custom mounting needs they seemed a really good match for. In the end I finally got through, Karen & John visited, and I have a competitive bid in hand.

Karen and John do BEAUTIFUL work! They recently created a pool gate and new stair railing for our home and they look amazing. The pool gate is elegant and unobtrusive. They fit it with Magna-​safe pool locks to keep the kiddos safe. The work on the new stair railing and balcony rail is intricate and gorgeous!
I really appreciated their willingness and ability to achieve the design I wanted while staying within my budget.
In addition, their installation team was professional, friendly, and highly skilled.
