The Tech Center

As I said I would update the review given the right circumstance. I happened to talk to the first employee who has helped me in the past. He was very accommodating and worked fast to fix my phone. It was affordable and my phone looks brand new. Can’t question the quality whatsoever. I appreciate the turnaround.

I have shattered my iPod before and it was easily fixed and in a very short time. But I have gotten an iPhone6 in that time and do not know the cost. Does anyone know the cost?

Had a terrific experience with the technicians at the Tech Center (Danvers). I took my 89 year old mother there to get viruses removed from her laptop; the technician there was knowledgeable, very respectful and patient as he explained the problem and what it would take to remedy. The work was completed and computer picked up after a few days. There was a different technician on duty when we went to pick up the laptop and he was a pleasure to deal with as well. Extremely patient and respectful especially conversing with my elderly mom and he took a few extra minutes to add some shortcuts to make access to retrieving her mail easier. We didn’t feel rushed either time; both technicians were more than anxious to be helpful and were very professional and polite. The cost was only $ 50! Previous attempts to have viruses removed at several other local locations had already cost close to $ 200 and not resolved the problem. Would definitely use the Tech Center again.

Fixed my shattered iphone screen in about a half an hour. Only $ 60! Excellent Service! Highly reccomend.

My iPhone 4s had a cracked screen and a bad battery. So I brought it here to get it fixed and had Darren take a look at it. Took about 30 min for him to fix it and it works great now. I really didn’t want to get stuck buying a new phone and these guys saved the day! Great service and they’ll let you know straight forward whether it’s worth repairing or not. Darren was super helpful and informative and the repair was worth every penny spent!

I had a PS3 with the dreaded Yellow Light of Death (YLOD). I had this problem last year also. Then I had sent it to Sony for repairs. They had taken nearly a month to fix it and charged me over $ 150 for reflowing the soldering and perhaps putting on a new thermal paste. But Sony always reformats your drive, so any games, music, movies, pictures, etc you have on the hard-​drive are lost and you have to download them again. I did not want to go through that again so I contacted Tech Center. They said that they could fix it and turn around in 24 hours for $ 75. And no hard drive reformatting.
I dropped the PS3 around lunch time and they called me back around 5PM the same day to let me know that it was done. They reflowed the soldering and replaced the thermal pad. I think the whole process takes about an hour (take apart the whole PS3, get the the motherboard, remove the thermal pads and pastes from the GPU and CPU, reflow the soldering using the heat gun, put new thermal paste and pads on GPU and CPU, put the whole thing back together and do a test run). Paying someone $ 75 for it and not have to worry about it was just rightly priced in my mind.
Anyways, I was happy with the service. Now lets see how long does this PS3 last :)

Very bad experience!
I got virus on my computer — browser going to undesignated site and having strange suspicious programs that couldn’t be uninstalled. I think these programs are part of the virus. So I brought it to The Tech Center in Liberty Tree Mall. The next day I was notified that the computer was ready to pick up.
When I picked my laptop, the browser still went to the undesignated website, and these unwanted programs were still on the computer which still can’t be uninstalled.
So I was very unhappy and quite upset with the service, and questioned John (the owner) why these things were still on my computer. I asked him if the virus is gone, why the unwanted, suspicious program is listed in the program list. He said «I don’t know, it can’t be removed.» I wanted to know why in order to make sure the work was done properly.
His response was «we don’t want your business, since we can’t never fix your computer to your expectation», «The reason you are arguing with me is that you like to argue».
I was shocked by these responses. I prefer to have my computer function well, and not to argue with anyone about it. But unfortunately, I can’t really tell whether any work has been done on it because the same problems on my laptop seem to continue existing (the suspicious program still on the program list).
I think it is very likely that they don’t know how to fix the problem. I would look elsewhere for computer service.
He didn’t charge me for anything at the end, and said «you are not our customer, you shouldn’t be here talking to me». I think establishing a business means that you have a skill to offer to people. Simply refunding or not charging customer is an easy way out of your responsibility. Really need to watch out businesses nowadays. More and more businesses seem to behave this way — competence is in question.

Really nice guys. Very fair and seem like they work hard. They did not end up getting my screen in stock in tine to fix it the same day but were very upfront and offered a discount for the inconvenience as I had my 2 anxious kids with me. They were very apologetic and nice.

I took my galaxy s4 here with a broken screen. Was told not only the glass needed to be replaced, but the Digitizer as well. The only reason you would need to replace digitizer is if screen not swiping right. They wanted $ 250.00 to repair. Ordered glass on amazon for $ 4.66 watched the youtube video and replaced myself.

I took my smartphone to this repair shop. I would never do it again.
I knew what the problem was and confirmed that they would be able to fix it which involved soldering — they claimed they were the only place that could do it.
Long story short — they promised they could fix it — never explained to me that my warranty would be void if they tried, finally told me they couldn’t fix it and that I should send to the manufacturer for repair under warranty. I wasted my time by following these directions only to get phone back unrepaired after 2 weeks saying there was an un-​authorized repair attempt. In the end, I don’t even know if they couldnt fix it or they broke it…
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE HERE. Terrible service!

nevermind what i said in my last review, a month after they fixed my ps3, it stopped working again. they said they’d fix it for another 50, but that’s bs. why, so it can break again after a month, and then what, i have to repeat the cycle? it’s one thing if it stopped working a year later, but just over a month? screw this place, my fault for choosing them to begin with.

My experience here was absolutely fine. I broke the screen on my laptop while visiting my parents (correction: the dog knocked over my laptop… it wasn’t me!) and my dad suggested I bring it to The Tech Center since he had used them before. My guy’s name was Christian and he replaced the screen right away. He even threw in some free advice on a new laptop when I mentioned that I was debating getting a new one. Price was decent. Everyone was friendly. No complaints!
