This is an. old fashioned chocolate store. They make everything by hand and have unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. The woman who works there was so nice to call out to me as I was leaving. I was too early, they werent opening for another half hour. She let me on and explained all of the different types of chocolate they have. I adore their sailboats with blue sails. Their aligators would be great for anyone visiting too. I had some of their caramels and they were very fresh. Their creams were the best of everything I bought. They were milk chocolate with chocolate cream! Jimmy’s is a very cute shop that sells excellent chocolate. It is $ 36 a pound but really good stuff.

I was driving by when this place caught my eye. I was looking for a quick bite but this better option took place. I love that they converted an old house into a café, it makes the café unique. Heather was my server. Heather gave me excellent service and recommended the right meal and drink for me. I ordered the tripleta, which was awesome. I ordered the coconut infused chocolate flan. This was different so I ordered it. The flavor was delicious and the coconut was not overpowering and that’s saying something because I love coconut. I finished every bite and sometimes that is not always possible. I went to check out the bathroom to see if it was clean and it was. The tub was covered by a cushion and so it was very interesting but it fit the café. I will definitely be back.

Made an impromptu stop at Jimmies for their wine and chocolate pairing. So glad we did! We sat outside on the patio, which was wonderful. Never knew how much outdoor seating there was here! From the road it looks like only a few tables, but there’s a whole«hidden patio» behind the Banyan trees that you can’t see from A1A. We learned it’s the oldest chocolate shop in Florida, and opened in 1947. Can’t wait to come back and check out the chocolate shop on premises when it’s open!

This is a must for chocolate lovers! The food is good but the chocolate is even better! I’m a lucky girl who’s hubby knows just what I need when I’m having a bad day. If you like delicious homemade chocolate go there.

We had a really excellent dinner here the other night. Cute place off of US1 in Dania Beach, kind of like visiting Grandma’s house. We sat upstairs, and there was a large party up there so it was tight. The server was instrumental in our food selections, which was fine because I really didn’t know my way around the menu and she had good suggestions. My sirloin steak came to the table sliced, with a very good brie sauce on the side. The vegetable sides were very fresh. My meat was cooked perfectly(medium rare) with just the right amount of pink. We also enjoyed the Grouper special, which was good but the plate was really lacking in presentation. You must have dessert when dining here, as it is their specialty. We shared the NY cheesecake with warm chocolate sauce — unreal. Very very delicious and decadent! I will be coming back for sure.

Just so happened to spot this place while driving by. The word Chocolate rang out in my head, so I decided to double back and give it a try. When I returned and walked in, I thought I was at the wrong place. By the name I was expecting more of a chocolate/dessert type of place. I wasn’t expecting it to be a restaurant with mostly Latin cuisine. Even the category on Unilocal says Traditional American. Well, I guess South American food is Traditional American after all. But when I think of American food, I think they mean US American. It is a very quaint place with dining upstairs. Clearly this is a converted house. The bathroom has a «couch» that you can see was once a shower/tub. It was nicely converted and tasteful. Although this restaurant is complete different than the name suggests, I enjoyed it nonetheless. The food was quite good. To fulfill my chocolate craving I had a chocolate cheesecake for dessert. This is a nice place to stop for lunch, and I am glad I did.

4÷2÷2016 — We saw this place on our way to the Dania Beach Arts & Seafood Festival and we had to stop by this charming spot. They have some tables outside but we decided to sit inside. A young lady greeted us and walked us upstairs to little corner table. They have beautiful artwork of animals and landscapes, great lighting. I walked out the side door to a balcony overlooking the outside seating area. If this was a Bed & Breakfast I would be here every weekend. It has a very relaxing and peaceful feel. We ordered the Samuel Smith, Organic Chocolate Stout and, to my surprise, they had Malta India from my hometown of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Of course, we had to order the Arroz con Gandules/Caribbean Styled Rice with Pigeon Peas($ 4.50 from their a la carte menu) and Grilled Shrimp served Ceviche Style: Four(4) large shrimp grilled to perfection and presented on a classic ceviche relish.($ 13.50) Both these dishes were excellent together. For dessert, the Chocolate Cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious, creamy and not too sweet. This is a place I must revisit.

Looking for a place for dinner last night, my aunt & I drove past this little place with both of us making a mental note for«next time». Today she called saying«my friends at work said we messed up and should have gone to Jimmie’s. You have to find a way to eat there.» So when my boyfriend asked where I wanted to have lunch, I said Jimmie’s. I’m so glad that we went. We ate on the patio. Though it’s only a few dozen feet from the highway, you feel like your at a tropical hideaway with only a few other people. The food was delicious. We both opted for the specials(grouper & filet mignon hamburger). For dessert, we shared the NY Cheesecake. A great date location!

The peak of Florida gourmet is here today. Grouper. Done right. Heaven. All those trendy hipster chefs need to study this concept and learn that simplicity is an art form, weird food combinations are just that.

Always drive by this place and never went inside until I was recommended by a friend. Heather was our server and she was super friendly and personable, she even gave us some background history of the establishment. It was a really cute location and atmosphere, if you’re in town check it out!

«Came here for valentines dinner, and when we first pulled up I was afraid we were way overdressed because on first glance it appears to be a classic family dessert place on the outside. However, once walking through the door we were taken to the upstairs dining room which is very classically elegant — and small: there’s only about 5 tables in the room which makes it very private and intimate which was special. Everything was perfectly prepared. From appetizer to the cappuccino and crêpe after our meal it was some of best food I’d ever had — including my steak, which was so juicy and perfectly prepared. If you want to have a special meal with someone this is certainly a great choice, but make sure you get reservations because the dining area is very small and will fill up quick» — E

This is my new favorite coffee spot on my days off. I’ve passed this place several times driving to Dania beach and always wanted to stop here. It just looked like a cute, vintage café. So I Took it upon myself to check it out this week. And I couldn’t have been happier that I did. The guy that works there saw that I looked a little lost and asked me if I was looking for the chocolate shop. I told him I was looking for coffee and he told me I could order it at the chocolate shop or here at the café. I said oh it doesn’t matter is it all the same? He recommended I checked out the chocolate shop on the backside of the building and I then I could come back to the front for coffee. I did just that. This is not your typical Hershey’s crap. This is homemade, wax free, rich, creamy chocolate pieces. The Champagne & Rasperry truffle was to die for. the whole $ 1.50 for the little piece was with it lol I went back to the café ordered a pumpkin coconut(my own creation lol) cappuccino and the sweet waitress took me outside to the garden patio where the weather was perfect. They also have indoor upstairs seating but I had to take advantage of the rare 65 degrees and sunny, blue sky weather. The cappuccino was very sweet for my taste, but easy fix, next time I’ll just ask for less syrup. But it was still delicious especially since pumpkin coffee is not easy to find in the middle of February . Simple to say I will be a regular.

I’m a bit late in posting this, but I’ve been here a few times and each visit is better than the last. This is a hidden gem. Our server was an absolute doll and made wonderful suggestions. She even turned me into Butter Chardonnay(yummy). We brought my mom here for a special treat as the town she lives doesn’t have anything like this. We ordered the seafood enchiladas, hummus, the brie cheese with caramelized onion and apple. they each had their own unique flavors and yet complimented each other. I couldn’t ask for a better meal. We had the chocolate cake for dessert along with the chocolate caramel cappuccino. I literally crawled to the car tugging at the button on my jeans praying they’d still fir in the morning but not caring because the food was so damn good. This is my zen zone and I am so happy we found it. I just hope the tourists hovering over Jaxsons don’t discover it and ruin it for us.lol.

Ok. I’m in love with this place. The ambiance is perfect. Romantic, raffinate and fancy at the same time. The food is gourmet, dessert OMG the best one and everything is so fresh and homemade. The only thing not good is the espresso coffee but this is not a big deal. Service is friendly. On the back of the restaurant there is the chocolate shop must visited!

I absolutely love this place! Came to Fort Lauderdale for training and found this beauty in Dania. Very chic and European feeling. The food, coffee, and awesome staff had me coming back every week! Amazing tapas! Every meal I received was a work of art and completely satisfying. I suggest the plantain cake & pernil, it is a the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Their coffees are something special because they are made with their own chocolate. They also offer wine pairings. Will definitely return whenever in the Fort Lauderdale area!

When the ice cream spot down the street is WAY too packed, check out Jimmie’s! It’s VERY small, & we’re thinking it used to be a house.(The bathroom has a shower head on the wall aiming down to a tub converted into a couch.) Our group was there just for dessert, and since everything sounded so good, we ordered one of each! Crêpe with chocolate ganache, strawberries, and bananas. Flourless chocolate torte with caramel. Cheesecake smothered in chocolate. I also had their hot chocolate, but it wasn’t anything special. I’ve had more moist flourless cakes, but it was still good. And seeing as there was only 2 left when we ordered, someone decided to just go ahead and get the last one too anyway. Good enough to wipe them out, and that was the«worst» of the desserts. We devoured everything! Chocolate wasted! Service was fantastic! Being such a small place, it makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Friendly service on top of that, you’re right at home. As our group was saying our goodbyes outside, another patron came rushing back with one shoe on(clearly«chocolate» wasted, as well) searching for her keys. As we were leaving, she still had not found them, and I overheard one of the servers being very patient with her and attempting to help the search. «Didn’t you go through the bushes? Let’s look there.» God bless you, patient woman.

This review is about the Chocolate Shop in the building behind the café. The café wasn’t open when we stopped. We were in town from Orlando for a conference. On our last day we were looking for some decent coffee and something sweet from somewhere other than Starbucks on our way out of town. I remembered seeing the sign for Jimmies a few nights earlier ad suggested we give it a try. We were there between lunch and dinner so the café wasn’t open but that was fine. We mainly wanted chocolate and they have a coffee machine in the chocolate shop. The coffee was actually pretty good. My wife ordered a double espresso macchiato and then walked out to take a phone call. Then I noticed there was no macchiato on the list of coffee offerings. The young lady behind the counter, Krystyn, said«tell me how to make it and I can do it.» So She made a wonderful machiatto for my and cappuccino for me. She was great to chat with also. She was responsive to people coming into the shop and had great people and customer service skills. Krystyn is the reason this review is 5-stars and not 4-stars. The chocolates were amazing. We got several to take back to Orlando with us(which we are still enjoying) and we had some there sitting at the outside tables, enjoying our coffees. Honestly, we have been to chocolate shops in Orlando and Winter Park and did not enjoy their truffles and creames nearly as much as these. This is very good, not overly sugary, not waxy, wonderfully rich chocolate with really vibrant and tasty fillings. I am so glad we found this place. You can bet we will visit the next time we are in Ft. Lauderdale. I’m hoping maybe they’ll open a new shop in our neck of the woods soon!

What a find! Quaint little restaurant with excellent food. We had two different orders and both were superbly prepared. None of the bland ‘chain restaurant’ food here. Of course the dessert chocolate was diet wrecking and well worth it. This was our first trip here and I look forward to trying more of the entrees. They have a top notch wine and craft beer list.

I go to Dania Beach a lot and I got stuck in traffic one evening on my way home so I was able to spot the place after much time. It looked very cute and quaint and I still needed a gift for Valentine’s Day so I thought I would stop in to let time pass. Unfortunately the café was closed but I went behind for the chocolate shop. Great array of chocolate pieces but gift boxes were super over my budget, and the gift boxes themselves were stuck in the 80s, so I opt for their packaged cookies. They were mouth-watering! Just great friggin cookies! I will definitely be coming back.

We went here just for dessert because Jaxon’s had a line down the block. We thought it would have more of a dessert menu because of the playful name but it was very limited. The flourless cake was delicious! It was like heaven. The hot chocolate drinks were a little too strong for our liking and the chocolate covered pretzels were pretty basic and not worth the price. The atmosphere is really cute! There is a little courtyard in the back with outdoor seating. the whole place is a little hidden. You will need to drive around the back of the building to find the parking. I would definitely like to come back and try the dinner menu. The food looked great!

What a great find! We stopped by at the recommendation of a friend and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Cozy, intimate and very friendly. Great menu, great service and best of all– Great Food. Everything was prepared with care and detail. The pork was delicious and the sides were just as good. Dessert was fantastic too. We had the cheese cake drizzled with dark chocolate. Yum! We will definitely go back and try more on the menu. This is a top notch Resturant. It is part of Jimmie’s chocolate shop but it is a separate Resturant.

We also got chocolate coconut cappuccinos. Everything we had was amazing!!! i am soo glad we tried this place. We went to Jimmie’s for Valentine’s Day. Perfect choice! We opted for indoor seating… thankfully because it was a colder weekend. We both started with the seared scallops… so good! The roasted corn it was served over was so tasty. Husband ordered Cornish hen. It was yummy. I couldn’t stop digging into the Spanish rice that came with it. So much flavor. I ordered the filet. It had a mustard sauce and potato and parsnip purée. Very tasty. There was a little problem with my filet… first time completely overcooked… no problem. They took it back and brought me a new one. This one… way rare. No problem… I told them just put it on the grill a few more moments. Comes back again… still way too rare. I was able to eat a little of it and since I had already filled up on my husband’s rice, I didn’t send it back, but our waitress was disappointed it wasn’t cooked correctly 3 times. They took it off the bill.(Which was totally appreciated). Dessert was absolutely delicious. Husband had the coconut flan… he loved it. I had the flourless chocolate cake… YUM! Can’t wait to go there again!(Mistakes happen… it’s how you handle it that counts. I appreciated them not thinking I was just a complainer and the amazing service we had on an obviously very busy night).

What a surprise this place is. Tucked away and very unassuming this place is definitely worth a visit. I met the chef and he was terrific guy, talking up all the specials of the day. Great guy great attitude very funny. Surprisingly the menu is very influenced with Puerto Rican dishes, arroz con gandules, toston relleno, etc. Don’t let that scare you, as there are lots of choices and the food was delicious. We tried the tostone relleno and although it was made with a ripe plantain as opposed to a green plantain it was still very good. We also had a grouper special from that night that was prepared very simply but was fresh and tasty. Don’t leave without having any of their desserts especially their cheesecake which was delicious. Also they have a lot of wine, a great place to hang out and just have some wine or beer and even just dessert. Definitely looking forward to going back congrats on a job well done!!!

Jimmies has been throwin’ the chocolate down since 1947– apparently they are the oldest chocolatiers around these parts. The property is unique and feels like an oasis amongst a sort of dingy looking Dania Beach Federal Highway. It’s super close to the airport and super easy to pop in to pick out some chocolates. They have much much more than the West Coast See’s I’m used to popping into every so often. The chocolate concoctions here, feel like there was some love put into each and every one of them. I love Jimmies and I always look forward to stopping by when I’m in town!

We live close by this place and drove by it all the time. From reading the street sign, we thought its only a shop for chocolates, but we had no idea its also a café. As luck would have it, we received a gift certificate of this place form a dear friend for Christmas and decided to «cash in» for lunch today. As we walked in, we received a very warm welcome from the staff. The weather weren’t ideal for patio dinning today so we decided to sit inside. The actual inside dinning is on the 2nd floor above the kitchen. The area is small, probably seats around 20, but feels very cozy. We looked through lunch menu and I decided to go with their pork chop. It comes in either a sandwich or salad. I went with the sandwich and it was a right choice. The sandwich buns were toasty and the port chop was nice, tender and juicy. My wife had their Tripleta. Its a slow roasted pork shoulder with NY Strip topped with melted Swiss cheese. It came with a fresh greens. The salad was lightly dressed and it was delicious. It was so good I actually finished off her salad. That’s a huge step for a guy like me who doesn’t like vegetables. Overall the whole dinning experience was excellent. We all enjoyed our meals and received a wonderful service from our waitress. As we walked out we also visited their Chocolates shop, I have never been to a store with that many different kinds of delicious looking chocolates. My wife and I both looked at each other as we got back in the car… yeah, we are coming back for sure!

Love this place. Found it on Unilocal when searching for chocolates. There are several in the area, but Jimmie’s had a 5-star reputation and thus won my initial business. Walking in, the place has a very«local» feel, and the Austrian woman at the counter who helps us was extremely informed. She answered all of our many questions, suggested several items for us, and patiently waited through our decision making. My favorites: Peanut butter cup, White-chocolate-covered pretzels. My lady likes the latte«drops»(I forget the real name of the item she had, they;re in the glass display on the right when you walk in. The chocolates are on the high end in price — $ 35/pound — but if you’re gonna buy chocolates, dammit, buy the best you can find. Jimmie’s is that. There are still a lot that I haven’t even tried yet. I’ll be back.

Interested in sharing a nice night out on the patio with torches on the side illuminating your special someone’s eyes and for filling their chocolate craving? Precisely the sole reason why we came here. I mean it when I say that it is a MUST that you should have their Dulce De Leche Flourless Chocolate Lava Cake. This has got to be one of my favorite desserts and best flourless chocolate cake I’ve ever had, you won’t regret such an order. Picture this, warm pools of dulce de leche and dark chocolate engulfing your every bite, yeah, these words don’t do any justice. We also took a hot chocolate to go for the drive home, worth it as well. Also around the corner is a little pathway of cute little remarks on the floor to their chocolate shop that is so convincing that you can see how it feels to be Hansel and Gretel being lured.
