Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port

Sure enuff very good place for us tonight with all requirements met. Food tv and internet and plugs bedside with good iron and board. Good bedding and nice lobby and bar-​food etc. Would sure stay again. National Jet fbo put us here and all is well.

The Good news is convenience to the airport and cruise terminals with free shuttles. Bad news is you have to walk a mile with your luggage to get there, (took a cab), and the lobby is crammed with people making multiple stops and terrible traffic. We hired a private shuttle, $ 12/​person and took the short cut with only one security check. The hotel is old and needs some work, but seems clean enough. We were upgraded to a suite bc of my hubby’s status :), only to discover not 1 but 2 trains running every 15 min. Just off the parking lot. Not kidding. :(Stops at 11 pm and starts back up at 7am sharp. Had to eat there twice since we didn’t have a car. It wasn’t bad. No restaurants or stores within walking distance. So no chance for last minute things you forgot. I’ve been in better Courtyards. My husband says it’s typical. Service was friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this hotel during the week of November 2^nd, 2015. I was disappointed that the towels and linens lacked sparkle. I wonder if they were laundered without soap? while the bedding seemed clean I’m not sure it was fresh. One of the towels on the towel rack was soiled as though a prior guest had used it and left it on the rack and it wasnt changed between guests. Not too cool. Finally, my room had small spiders or mites that would crawl across the desk and night stand. I’m not a fan of spiders (or mites) in my bedroom.

I wish I can give this hotel no stars, because everyone who works at the desk is a freaking idiot. I spoke with several people before I came to this hotel for my cruise and everyone assured me that even if my plane landed after midnight I would only be charged 1 day. Get to this crappy hotel that doesn’t seem that clean for a Marriott, and no one sees my reservation, and they want to charge me an extra day. My advice is NEVER stay here, go to Embassy Suites, atleast you’ll get breakfast and happy hour.

If I could give this hotel a negative star I would. Did not realize I was going to be in a room that had a train go by every hour and have to endure The train whistle going off at 1:40 in the morning. Called the front desk but the phone did not work so I had to call on my cell phone to get the front desk. Was unable to get another room so that I could sleep. There is no discount for having the crappy us room available. On top of that, the shuttle to and from the airport does not go past midnight, so if your plane is delayed you will have to take a taxi to this hotel. Also, staff is very unfriendly and unaccommodating.

I was forced to stay here due to my own mistake I made with my flight. For $ 189 this hotel really does not have much. It should be more like a $ 119. I got in late at 10pm, food was already closed I ate chips for dinner. Then the next morning I go down looking to eat and seeing as it’s 10:30am they told me they stopped serving breakfast at 10 and lunch doesn’t start until 12:30. So again nothing to eat. I would never stay here again given a choice. Oh and it’s right by train tracks or something, so super noisy when you’re sleeping.

No complaints. We selected Courtyard Fort Lauderdale for number of reasons:
#1. Close proximity to Port Everglades cruise terminal.
#2. Free hotel pickup from FLL. Doesn’t hurt to call the hotel once you’ve landed and have your luggage.
#3. Free cruise port shuttle from the hotel. There’s a sign up sheet at the front desk.
#4. About 15 minute drive from FLL.
#5. About 15 minute drive to cruise terminal.
We flew into FLL approx 10:40pm (about 20 minutes early). A good thing as the hotel shuttle stops at midnight.
We checked in without an hitch. Not so with my sis and bro in law. Their room key didn’t work. Hotel maintenance tried with same result. It seemed the room was locked from the inside. Sis stood in to the hallway for quite awhile. She went down to the front desk. Was assigned another room. Also was compensated with free breakfast the next morning. And secured free breakfast for our room and our other sis’s room.
There’s a bistro on ground level. Serves hot breakfast and Starbucks coffee.
All Stars shuttle van also in the hotel lobby. We purchased our tickets to FLL from the cruise terminal in advance. Paid for five passengers at $ 55 and got the sixth passenger for free. Cash only.
They say you can hear the train running at night but we didn’t. Earplugs must help.

Bummer :
–Loud train track goes by the hotel, and honks really loud every few min in the middle of the night.
–Breakfast is not included, but there is a small snack shop available with Starbucks coffee.
Price-​wise, it wasn’t one of the cheaper ones, but for free rides and convenience, it was worth it, if you are going on a cruise. The rooms were clean.
Pro Tip:
You can arrange your post-​cruise ride from Port Everglades to FLL thru hotel lobby, for $ 11/​pp (All Star shuttles).

Desk clerks very attentive… checked us in quickly … Later helped me with written directions to airport.
Had a great chicken Caesar salad from the Bistro — and was ready in less than 10 minutes.
Room was really nice … Sheets much softer than the last hotel we were at (rhymes with «Milton»). King bed oh so soft. Small fridge in room perfect for the food we bought for airplane ride home.
Shower pressure great …
And also nice is that parking is free.

Fabulous hotel. Décor is stunning. Beds are deliciously comfy. Staff is friendly and helpful. One of the shuttle drivers gave us a highlight reel of everything to do and see in the immediate area including a rundown of local eateries since it was dinner time. Ask for Maurice!

Clean and convenient location, but you will hear the train all night. Beds are a little soft and squishy.

I had an early flight and wanted to stay somewhere close to the airport with a shuttle. This hotel won out and in the end it was a good choice. The hotel looked very nice and the room was pretty large and clean. The shower pressure was absolutely ridiculous. The shuttle left on time and got us to the airport quickly, the driver was very nice as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I have an early flight.

Terrible customer service on Nov 8, 2013.
Waited 60 min at the airport for the shuttle. Other hotels arrived 3 & 4 times while we waited. We called the hotel twice and They stated 15 min IF we were in the correct location. REALLY!!!
When we arrived at the hotel it took FOREVER to get checked in. Only one person at the front desk.
Asked the front desk for a taxi and the they stated they called one for another customer going to the same location just wait for that one. Again REALLY!
So I found the taxi number and called myself.
WE PICKED THE WRONG HOTEL!

Frequent Marriot guest and travel by car cross-​cross country a few times in the past two years. I only stay at Marriots because of their cleanliness and my level of satisfaction/​expectation with the company. South Florida certainly misses the boat! I cannot explain it. All I can say is the room was dirty, sheets stained in numerous places, and a urine stain was found on the bed sheets. DISGUSTING! Will never return and encourage others not to as well.

Frequent Marriott (gold member) guest, this hotel was a total disappointment.
* arrived at 1:30 pm, was told no rooms available. That doesn’t sound like a big deal, except the following morning, housekeeping was banging on my door at 8:17 a.m. Wow. If you are going to disturb me that early (I know, my bad for not putting out ‘do not disturb’ sign), why on earth would a room not be available for a premium member at 1:30 pm.
* so then when I couldn’t get into my room, I was going to grab lunch in the bistro. The attitude of the ‘cashier’ was so poor, I should have just walked away. Ok, again, my bad for expecting a decent meal in this level hotel. I ordered (and paid for — that point will become important later) the shrimp dumplings and went and had a seat. About 12 minutes later (yup, I was timing… because I was hungry & would rather be in my room), the server came over to tell me they were out of dumplings. No biggie, so I go back up where I can see the menu. I opted for a salad. So I’ve already paid, right? My dumplings were $ 9.25, my salad was $ 7.99. Never a mention of the difference, never maybe an offer of a complimentary bottle of water… And no, still no smile.
This is NOT about the buck. It’s about the principle, the customer service, the overall attitude and the lack of even an acknowledgement.
* Internet service: Horribly slow. Almost unusably slow. We had a meeting room and it was bad regardless of the lobby/​guest/​whatever connection. They were all slow.
* My room was great. It was roomy, lots of plugs, faced the train station but no noise issues.
* My under-​door receipt was accurate so I could have skipped check-​out… However, I was going to Miami airport and wanted the 4−1−1 on the Tri-​Rail (excellent, by the way). I waited and waited and waited some more for my opportunity to ask the front desk person questions about the train. Another pretty poor attitude encounter… and then a bit of misinformation in how to walk over there, which resulted in me having to pull my roller board bag over grass. Not cool man, not cool.
So I couldn’t check in @1:30, they stiffed me a buck, apparently were understaffed for checkout, and none of their employees actually act as if they want to be there. Enough for me not to return.
If the selling feature is the free shuttle, there HAS to be somewhere else. This place gets this Marriott member’s thumbs down.

Bed bugs! We stayed one night to catch the early flight because they offered a free shuttle. The free shuttle runs every 30mins and it was not there despite putting our names on the list. When we got on the plane, all of us in the room started to scratch. Then, I noticed the breakfast, lunch, dinner pattern of bites on us. I even called the hotel to report the room, they offered o do nothing, not even compensate us for the stay at $ 169/​nt. Bed bugs!

I always stay at this Courtyard when I have early flights out of FLL. It is always clean and quiet and the the people who work there are nice.
Its only a couple of minutes to the airport, so it is a handy place to stay.
I usually use points when I stay here, but the prices aren’t too bad.

Not a bad place as far as the hotel itself goes, but the free internet (via Ibahn) is worth exactly what you pay… nothing. It is terrible, below what we have come to expect in hotels, and I would hazard a guess that business travelers (like myself) will find it less than adequate. Bring your dial-​up modem, it will be faster!
Staff was friendly and took care of us. Decent lobby with coffee and café type goodies throughout the day. Room was clean and the a/​c worked great. Location wasn’t bad and if you like Bass Pro Shops — Outdoor World it is right next door.

Checking into this hotel after a cruise, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Check-​in was quick and efficient. The front desk staff had good general knowledge about the surrounding area and menus for ordering in some food.
Skip the restaurant in the hotel lobby. It has a very minimal selection and none of it is healthy. Ask the staff for local restaurant menus that deliver.
They had a free shuttle service to Fort Lauderdale Airport that runs every 30min.
Room #635 was big with a decent view, although very minimalistic in the amenities it had. The towels didn’t smell fresh. The hotel is located near train tracks and a highway, but with the windows closed its not a problem.

Convenient location right across the street from the tri-​rail station (walking distance). They offer free shuttle service to the Ft. Lauderdale airport (and the cruise port), which is about a five minute ride. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Excellent service.
The hotel itself does not have a full restaurant (they offer breakfast) but a decent sea food restaurant is right next door.
