Best Chinese food in the area by far! Clean place and the food is not greasy or salty which is typical for Chinese. Friendly staff that will always throw in something for free which is nice.

After years of trying many asian takeouts in Danbury, we have settled for Kai’s for good. The food is amazing, the service is beyond extraordinary. The lady on the counter is super courteous. Chicken Szechuan Dumpling are very good. Thai curries are also great. By far the best asian takeout place in Danbury.

This is the best Chinese food in Danbury and a 30 miles radius from the restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is perfect. I can’t stress enough how you should be ordering from them right now.

Hidden Gem Alert!!! This place stands out head and shoulders above any other Chinese/Asian food restaurant in the area. I come from the land of great Asian cuisine(Boston area) and have been thoroughly disappointed time and again in this area. I LOVELOVELOVE the food! They seem to always throw in «extra goodies» in takeout bags. Last time I got 4 doughnuts that were right out of this world(and the frypan!) warm soft and sweet! The dumplings in hot oil(like a peanut/oil sauce) I kill that solo. Awesome and friendly staff/very clean kitchen and dining area. I just came here for a second day in a row. And maybe tomorrow.

My husband and I have been to nearly every Chinese takeout place from Danbury to New Milford and even Brewster and Kai’s Place has become our new favorite. The food is light but absolutely delicious. The owner is super kind as well. Check this place out. You won’t be sorry!

I tried this place last night because of the great reviews, wow was I disappointed. I ordered Pork & Shrimp Fried Rice, General Tso’s and Szechuan dumplings. To say this food was bland would be an understatement. I have 0 tolerance for food that is not seasoned and I forced myself to eat 1 serving b/c I paid $ 22 for it. But I had to drench it with soy sauce and sriracha to eat it. Leftovers are going in the trash. The fried rice tasted like diced up cardboard. The general tso’s pieces were very small and I don’t know if there were actual pieces of chicken under all the breading. The Szechuan dumplings were incredibly doughy and I didn’t taste any«hot oil». So very disappointed.

I’ve had two meals here and I’ve been very happy both times. Like all the other reviewers say, the Szechuan dumplings with the peanut sauce are amazing! Wonton soup has great flavor and I’ve had both the egg foo young and the sweet-and-sour chicken. Service is friendly. Best Chinese I’ve found in the area by far! Great value too.

The best Chinese takeout in the area. Everything is very fresh and delicious. Our family of 6 has tried many of the items on the menu. The owners are extremely nice and always put a free item in our takeout order to try.

I’ve lived in danbury just about all my life, and I can say that I tried take out from every Chinese kitchen, except for Main Moon. True to what they claim, this is different from all the others, the fried rice wasn’t drowned in sodium, the fried rice already stands apart because the pork fried rice isn’t simply dyed yellow, and it actually tastes like it was cooked from the pan, the sesame chicken wasn’t soaked in sauce, leaving for a nice crisp bite into it. Overall I say that this is a healthy alternative to the normal stuff you can find anywhere else. On to price, I got the chicken broccoli lunch special, it came with fried rice, and you get an option of three different soups, I got the wonton soup for 5.95 all together. While my brother got the sesame chicken. Concerning price it’s cheaper than most, but does it justify the extra ten minutes in commute when China Wall is 2 minutes away from my house? I’d say so. On a nice side note, thy gave us an extra container Szechunan dumplings to try, that’s always a plus in my book. Also another side note, I also didn’t have to rush for the bathroom after I was finished eating. Good for when I got the misses over.

I drove by several other Chinese takeout restaurants on my way here from Bethel. If not for Unilocal I wouldn’t have know Kai’s Place existed(although I do know the Vietnamese and Korean restaurants nearby well — and they are very, very good). I have tried several other Chinese takeouts in the Bethel area, including Bethel Chinese Kitchen, which happens to be the only restaurant’s food that I promptly threw in the trash after just a couple of bits. Now that’s saying something!(Yuk, gross, do not go there.) I went with the suggestions from the other Unilocal reviewers: Szechuan Dumplings, Singapore Noodles and an Egg Roll(the egg roll wasn’t recommended, but it’s what I use to rate any decent Chinese takeout place). All were very good. I’m happy to know that I finally have a go-to Chinese takeout restaurant. Finally! And the service was good and friendly. Not that that really matters, but it is a bonus.

We’ve lived in Connecticut for over a year and just stumbled upon Kai’s. Far and away the best Chinese food we’ve come across. Although most of their business is take out they do have a few booths to eat-in as well. The staff is friendly and they have a great selection of Chinese and Szechuan dishes. Try the Szechuan dumplings. You won’t regret it!

Tried this place for the first time last night. Was extremely impressed. Read the Unilocal reviews and they didn’t steer wrong. The recommend dumplings and Singapore dish were fantastic. Will definitely get take out from here again.

This is truly an excellent restaurant. The food is great and the owners are very friendly. I tried the Szechuan Dumplings based on the previous review — I was not disappointed — very unique. The owner will tell you there are 20 ingredients :-). It is definitely worth a look — you might get hooked!

Kai’s place is def worth a go– they have the typical stuff you would see on a chinese take out– but try something new! many of the dishes have a southern asia inspired flavor that will have you hooked! it was destiny that I wandered into Kai’s Kitchen. hungry. its late. longest monday ever. all I want is my go to take away food… only to discover its closed! so i’m in the area of another chinese place i have been meaning to try. and my gps takes to me to… an auto body shop??? wtf. confused. and its getting late. i suffice to stop at the chinese place i know is always open. from a distance i see neon blinking lights of a bowl with noodles and chopsticks. yummmmm i’m drawn in. i walk in… and this man greets me with big smiles. i check out the menu. tell them i want the real deal chinese. the very nice woman(whom i did not get her name) helps me decide on an order for Szechuan dumplings with hot oil, minced chicken and corn soup, singapore chow mei fun, and i throw in an all american of crab rangoon. i then have the best conversation ever. The owner introduces himself as Kai Chen(Chen Kai in mandarin) and I find out this is their first week open. I tell him how we need a good chinese place that will make the real deal chinese food– not this americanized crap! Kai has other restaurants in NYC, Upstate NY and now danbury. the dishes are really delicious– the dumplings had a wonderful spicy peanut sauce and the chow mei fun was kind of malay inspired with curry like flavors. the chicken corn soup was filled with large chicken chunks. everything was outstanding. the ingredients are fresh– talk to Kai or the wait staff. I want everyone who visits to be inspired by their food and order something you normally wouldn’t– chinese cuisine has soooo many wonderful flavors!
