I practically lived at this hotel on and off for a couple of months for work and I have to say, I’m pretty impressed!
The rooms here are pretty generously sized and the beds are VERY cozy, as if it was woven with the fine hairs of unicorns and stuffed with clouds. You’re even provided with a pretty spacious mini fridge for leftovers and liters of soda, which is a MUST during long stays. They have a fairly standard gym and a small pool that seems closed for most seasons. However, my personal favorite of this hotel was the laundry machines that are FREE for use. Definitely saved me from running out of clothes or smelling like a farm animal.
If for some reason you do make a trip out here, be wary of staying during the winter season because there are a LOT of parties and these people take up ALL the parking spaces. It’s ridiculous. The staff, though for the most part are nice, seem incredibly inept at what they do. One time a front desk lady had me walk up and down the stairs about three times with my large luggage because she didn’t set up my card key correctly. Several times I’ve had billing issues because some weird miscommunication between them and my company. I have no idea. They do sometimes offer free cookies and stuff in the lobby though, which always pacifies me even when things get upsetting. Despite the minor upsets, this place makes for a very comfortable stay.

My family and I stayed here a week ago for one night, after 6 hrs of driving with 3 kids we were looking forward to a nice hotel stay and some rest. I paid under $ 110 for my stay through a booking site. When we arrived we noticed «leftover» that the staff missed when cleaning (used tissues and lip balm) but thought oh well don’t wanna move again. We brought in pizza that my 2 oldest kids ate at the desk and my baby, husband and I ate over a towel on the floor. We put all leftover pizza in box and placed it in top of closet. My baby had a muffin snack that was on floor which we cleaned up with crumbs left. An entire week later the hotel charges our debit card an additional $ 115! After 2 days talking with the hotel they say it’s a «cleaning fee» and I ask what for, they say there was food all over floor that required additional cleaning. Hand to god there was area between the beds with crumbs from muffin that’s it! So I am charged $ 115 for vacuuming?! I assumed they vacuumed after every stay, but apparently you are charged for it! Are u freaking kidding me?! $ 115 extra because staff have to actually do their job?! This hotel completely RIPS YOU OFF! I will never again stay at this hotel, they should be ashamed of themselves for treating families like this

Made a reservation online. Cancelled several weeks BEFORE arrival. Received Cancellation Confirmation directly from hotel. The following month, hotel charged my credit card for the cancelled reservation. I called hotel directly and was advised that reservation was marked as «no show» and accordingly charged to my credit card. I presented the Cancellation Confirmation and was told that credit card charge would be adjusted. Several days later was called by manager who asked me to explain my complaint. I’m not sure what I could add to the Cancellation Confirmation issued by the hotel but I went over it again and once again was promised that my credit card would be adjusted. Needless to say, NO REFUND from hotel and I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. In summary, ETHAN ALLEN HOTEL is trying to steal money from guests. All guests of ETHAN ALLEN HOTEL should examine credit card bills carefully after a stay.

I have to update my review, as I was contacted by Janice, the General Manager at the Ethan Allen Hotel, following posting my review. Janice was very kind and did everything she could to apologize for our situation. She offered to refund the entire bill for the food, as I had previously requested, and made sure that I was aware that this situation would be further discussed and taken into consideration for other wedding parties. I still feel as though I would be a little more proactive if I had to use Ethan Allen again for an event. I would contact Minnie and Janice directly and ask important questions, like can I meet the manager that will be on staff while my family is staying at your hotel? Also, I would ask what events will be going on at the same time? And finally, I would ask to have a run through the evening of my wedding, prior to my wedding evening, so that I would not have had to deal with a rude manager the night of my wedding!

my son was getting engaged not far from ethan allen and wanted to have family and friends around right after the big moment. we called and spoke to eileen the banquet manager and she helped arrange everything. within 30 minutes we had a cocktail hour, buffet dinner planned and dessert for 35 people.
i would totally rec this facility for any party grand or small. the parking is perfect, the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. they truly know the party business and we and our guests where delighted with the outcome.

The hotel was mediocre at best. First off, my room was not ready for 3pm check-​in time despite knowing there was a wedding taking place that evening. The front desk was completely understaffed.
And while this is my fault, i left an article of clothing in the hotel room, and when i called to see if they could hold on to it and I would come back to get it later that day, they took my number down and never called me back. And than told me there was nothing in the room, which i know was a lie!
Other details, the bar downstairs is staffed by a guy who spent maybe 30% of his time actually behind the bar. The Pool is TINY. They gave us a double bed room despite asking for a king.
would definitely not go back to this hotel. If i left something at the W or Marriot I know they would have at least held on to it, instead of letting the cleaning crew plunder the rooms and keep what they find.

Mother’s Day Brunch — Exceptional: I took my Mom, Sister and Wife to Mother’s Day Brunch! What a wonderful time we had — everyone was so pleasant — a kind greeting — helpful manner — made us feel like we were part of the family. The food? Legendary! The food was presented and prepared perfectly! Really! By far, it is the best brunch I have ever had… I would highly recommend your visit Ethan Allen Hotel for any Sunday brunch! Thanks so much to the team and management for making our Mother’s Day so memorable!

My experience with EA has been banquet events only.
My company had one of their holiday parties here and damn are the passed appetizers the bombbbbb! In fact i prob shoul have just filled up on them and nearly did. The main entrees are typical hotel/​wedding/​banquet variety. My entire group had the prime rib and it was not the best cut. I ate it but then again i was also 5 drinks deep at the time and was taking a one way ticket to scarf town, so i didnt exactly nit pick it. My mom said hers was awfully tough tho and even my dad couldnt get through it much.
Idk why my colleagues thought a band would be better than a DJ… it was like a knock off Tony Bennett act with old dudes in neon jackets. Oy vey. More drinks here I come. SPeaking of which the bartenders Linda and Tim were hella cool

This is my first stay at an Ethan Allen Hotel since I never heard of it aside from a Hotwire search. It was 3 star’s on Hotwire bit I have to take it down a notch based on my current stay.
I travel a every other week and stay at many different hotels, so my review is comparative to real life expectations.
It’s easy to park and the exterior area and lobby are clean.
My room appeared clean but my TV remote had grease all over the power button and channel buttons.
The walls are thin like all hotels in this price range; You can hear normal voice conversations somewhat clearly.
I started the day on the wrong foot since the tub shower drain block mechanism was stuck in the «plug» position. …so I had to take a military shower or risk flooding.
The shower not working and the dirty remote make this 3 star hotel a 2 star.
3 stars means some of the little things are taken care of. Ethan Allen hotels did not fulfill this experience expectation.
Conclusion:
Eh it’s basically «OK» if you need a place to stay.

I spent four days and three nights at the EA for a conference this week. The room was clean, well-​maintained, and comfortable. The desk staff was efficient and helpful at all hours. The conference facilities were professional and more than adequate for our needs, even late at night. The service staff was exceptional and took good care of us through all of our comings and goings. I would definitely stay here again for personal or business travel.

My daughter booked this room for us when she said Ethan Allen, I thought that is a furniture store not a hotel. Well this hotel has a nice curb appeal and the nicest furniture throughout. Connecting rooms are available. Desk chairs, beds, bedding, hangers, TV, chandeliers, dining chairs in restaurant are nice. The hotel itself is ok. Door locks all seem to get stuck, card keys malfunction, they have a hair dryer & iron is provided, service ok but staff is not the most caring but for this part of town it is expected. The guests here were very nice and we made friends immediately. They have iced lemon water in lobby that was a plus for me.

If you like a boiler room, ITS A OK! Asked multiple times to check the air con. «Can you open the window?» Stay if you want a sauna. For real, the room is nice, but I can’t believe they asked to open the window. The wedding was great, management should check the air con.

Since they did not honor the room rate that was booked and that was all confirmed at check-​in, a co-​worker recommend that I contact the travel agent that booked the reservation for me in the 1^st place. GREAT IDEA. The Ethan Allen hotel manager, was «too busy to talk right now, but she will call you right back» just to many times to be believable. But when the travel agent called (and I was on the line when he did), he got the same answer but the Ethan Allan manager then call be back in less than a minute (I was still on the line with the travel agent). First she offered just to comp me a room night for my next trip (fool me twice — I don’t think so), then it was comp me a night on my last trip (because the maid did not clean the room — huh?) and then finally agreed to honor the rate proved with the reservation and a check-​in.
I’ve been back to Danbury several times since but never again to the Ethan Allen.

I travel quite often to the area and always stay here. The staff is so nurturing and each of them go out of his or her way to provide exceptional service. The food in the restaurant is good and the experience overall is so positive. Stay here!

Terrible Service at Brunch!!!
Went to the Ethan Allen brunch today and was so disappointed and appalled I HAD to leave a review to SAVE other people from going there!!! Had to literally yell across room to the waitress just to get water served at table (which should have been served apon being seated). Ordered a Bloody Mary which was very weak, sent it back, got another that was so strong it was literally undrinkable. The waitress then served my friend’s Bloody Mary to the table next to us by accident. It sat there for 15 MINS until the table next to us said something to the waitress and then she took it OFF THEIR TABLE AND GAVE IT TO US. It was so watered down from melted ice it was not drinkable, SHE WALKED AWAY before we could ask for a new one! Had to get up and find her, asked for a new one and THEY BROUGHT BACK THE SAME WATERED DOWN DRINK. It was beyond bizarre!!! I have NEVER had an experience like this before. They received NO tip and I will NEVER go back!!! simply AWFUL.

Jason M. and I attended a wedding there last Saturday. Holy Moly, it was quite a grand place; fitting for a royal occasion!
The wedding we went had 210 guests, but the place was so huge that there was still plenty of elbow room. The cocktail hour was fab and loved the meatballs and cheese plate. Though my swordfish plate was just okay, the beef dish was flavorful and filling! In general, I have learned to just get the beef dish at weddings! The dessert table was to die for as I stuffed my face with a lot of petit fours!
The dance floor was huge like the Dancing with the Stars set; great for Jason and me to get our groove on… lol!
Bathrooms were very updated and clean! I hope to go there for another wedding/​event in the future!

The renovation is complete. The lobby and banquet hall are fit for a king and queen, those parts being played by our dear friends who were married just this past Saturday.
A 210-​person wedding reception? No problem! 25 tables fit easily with room to spare… could probably do 300 comfortably if they really wanted to. A very large dance floor graces the center of the room, for all the electric sliding and Cotton Eye Joe-​ing you and your guests can handle.
Cocktail hour was sensational, though the bar lines got a bit long… perhaps a third bartender was in order? Food was great. From the big shrimp cocktail [oxymoron?], to the medium-​rare filet, to the dessert cart, it was quite a royal feast.
There is a small hotel bar for your after party. I cannot comment on the rooms, since we didn’t stay the night. Hearsay suggests they did a nice job.

Meh is right. My room overlooked a lovely gas station. The shower stall smelled bad, as did the bedspreads, which i promptly put in the closet. Then I was cold all night.
Not sure if anything else stands out. We did not eat there, because Blue Hill Diner is 10 min away and we love it there.

I haven’t stayed here, but my company had an all-​day meeting here, and the place is freaking NICE! I am shocked that the furniture company even has a hotel. The service is pretty top notch too and the food isn’t bad.
What makes it all good is the décor. Obviously, you expect nothing less from a furniture company but damn. I was impressed.
